BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Donald Lee Schaller Sr., 61, of 13623 Blue Ridge Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center.
Born March 30, 1937, in Palmyra, Mo., he was the son of the late George Otto Paul and Nellie Plymate Schaller.
He was a 1955 graduate of Palmyra High School.
He was employed at Fort Ritchie, Site-R for 35 years, retiring in 1977.
He served six years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration in Blue Ridge Summit, and was on the Vestry and a lay reader.
He was a member of Acacia Lodge 155, Free and Accepted Masons in Thurmont, Md., Blue Ridge Sportsman Association, Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Co. and National AARP.
He was an inventor and patent holder of Life Spotter since 1989.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Dona L. DeWees Schaller; two daughters, Dawn S. Kohler of Waynesboro, Pa., and DeLea S. Barkdoll of Columbia, Md.; one son, Donald L. Schaller Jr. of Blue Ridge Summit; three sisters, Onita Schaller of Hannibal, Mo., Shirley Campfield of Independence, Mo., and Dimple Potterfield of Palmyra; one brother, George Robert Schaller of Brunswick, Ga.; one grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Schaller.
Services will be Monday at noon at Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, Blue Ridge Summit. The Rev. Daphne S. Killhour will officiate. Burial will be in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration Youth Group, P.O. Box B, Blue Ridge Summit, Pa. 17214.
Edith K. Dean
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Edith K. Dean, 89, of 12590 South Road, and formerly of Lake Worth, Fla., and Peconic, N.Y., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Jan Shank, in Shippensburg.
Born April 23, 1909, in Nutley, N.J., she was the daughter of the late William and Edith Ueckermann Kirkpatrick.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest W. Peters, in 1962; and by her second husband, Harvey S. Dean, in 1982.
She was a 1930 graduate of Barnard College. She was a bacteriologist for Dr. Russell L. Cecill, founder of the Arthritis Foundation in New York; and for Dr. Reuben Copperman, chief rheumatologist at Presbyterian University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia. She was a published writer.
She was a former member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Greenport, Long Island; and Menno Haven Christian Fellowship. She was a past member of Christian Women's Club and was active with Barnard Alumni.
She is survived by daughter, Jan Shank; a son, Gordon K. Peters of Los Angeles; a stepdaughter, Janice Collings of Washington; two stepsons, H. Steven Dean of North Carolina and George Dean of California; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
There will be no viewing or public services.
Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association, Franklin County Chapter, 2040 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110-9568; or Arthritis Foundation, 2019 Chestnut St., Camp Hill, PA 17011.

Marion S. Frederick

Born Jan. 18, 1905, in Atlantic City, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Laura Horner Sawyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry "Ted" Montgomery Frederick, in 1964.
She was a 1924 graduate of Atlantic City High School; and a 1928 graduate of Temple University in Philadelphia.
She taught retarded children in the Franklin County Special Education School; and was supervisor of physical education in Chambersburg Public Schools.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg, a member of Dr. Kathryn Keller Bible Class; and Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). She was a retired member of the senior choir.
She received a certificate in special education from George Peabody Teachers College, Nashville, Tenn., in 1953. She was a member of P.S.E.A.; National Retired Teachers Association; and Chapter 1507 AARP.
She is survived by a cousin, Dorothy Sims of Laurel Springs, N.J.; and two nephews, Steven Sims and Thomas Sims of Laurel Springs.
She was preceded in death by a half brother, Charles C. Marcy.
Services will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in Neal Chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg. The Rev. Charles W. Kampmeyer will officiate. Burial will follow in Norland Cemetery.
There will be no viewing or visitation.

Maude A. McCoy
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Maude Alice Brown McCoy, 82, of 3301 Lincoln Way East, and formerly of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Caledonia Manor.
Born June 20, 1916, in Sabillasville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Fanny Sprenkle Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester K. McCoy, in 1983. They were married
in December 1933.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, Pa.
She is survived by a son, Larry T. McCoy of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother, Paul Brown of Lomax, Calif.; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Chester K. McCoy Jr.
Services will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
Laurel T. Miller

Born Feb. 21, 1933, in Kearney, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Myra Fleck Tenley.
She spent her early life in Riddlesburg, Pa. She attended school in Defiance, Pa.
She was employed by Stanley Co. in Chambersburg from 1957 to 1959. She then worked for five years at Dixie Restaurant, now known as Gibble's Restaurant in Greencastle, and was employed by Knouse Foods Inc. for 14 years in the warehouse department, retiring in 1986.
She was a Protestant.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Raymond Miller, whom she married
July 23, 1955; five daughters, Sharon D. Divens, Rita K. McCammon and Brenda Sue Miller, all of Greencastle, and Lori A. Sullivan and Angela M. Elbel, both of Chambersburg, Pa.; three sons, Gerald W. Tenley of Sacramento, Calif., Joseph Scott Miller and Robert D. Miller, both of Greencastle; two sisters, Sarah E. Shadle of Chambersburg and Myra S. Mackiewicz of Warren, Mich.; seven brothers, Kenneth C. Tenley of Bedford, Pa., Warren R. Tenley of Everett, Pa., Allen J. Tenley, David M. Tenley and Samuel W. Tenley, all of Riddlesburg, Thomas W. Tenley of Chambersburg and James L. Tenley of Crystal Springs, Pa.; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret R. Garnes and Genevieve T. Weyer.
Services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. The Revs. Ralph L. Fry and Wilbur F. Besecker will officiate. Burial will be in Brown's Mill Cemetery, Antrim Township, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m.
