MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Junior M. Custer, 66, of 4364 Charlestown Road, Mercersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 13, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1932, in Mercersburg, he was the son of the late Malen and Edith Stine Custer.
He was retired in 1996 from Mercersburg Academy, after 43 years as a painter.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joan Cowan Custer; five daughters, Martha Conley of Greencastle, Pa., Karen Vosburg of LeMasters, Pa., Sharyn Zeis, Tammy Custer and Pammy Custer, all of Mercersburg; two sons, Ray Custer of Mercersburg and Daron Custer of Chambersburg, Pa.; one sister, Cecyl Snyder of Mercersburg; three brothers, Carl Custer of Greencastle, Glen Custer of Hagerstown, and Paul Custer of Fayetteville, Pa.; nine grandchildren, one step-grandchild, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., Mercersburg. The Rev. Norman Hege will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Eugene L. Zeger
FORT LOUDON, Pa. - Eugene L. Zeger, 86, of 11837 Main Street, Fort Loudon, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg.
Born Sept. 14, 1912, in Mercersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Harvey W. and Mary E. Rotz Zeger.
He was a 1930 graduate of the former LeMasters High School.
He lived and worked on Cedar Brook Dairy Farm, Ft. Loudon, until his retirement in 1977. He also established Cedar Brook Campsites at the base of Mount Parnell, Ft. Loudon, and operated it until his retirement.
He was a lifelong member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Ft. Loudon, and served on the consistory.
He was a charter member of Ft. Loudon Ruritan Club for 35 years, member of Ft. Parnell Lions Club for 45 years, Ft. Loudon Senior Center and former president of Mountain View Elementary School Authority when the school was built.
He is survived by his wife Violet J. Ott Zeger, whom he married
in 1932; four daughters, Mary Lou Fritz of Ft. Loudon, Joyce Patterson of Fayetteville, Pa., Bonnie Rockwell and Kay Hill, both of Mercersburg; one sister, Helen Bowling of Ft. Loudon; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Trinity United Church of Ft. Loudon. The Rev. Barron P. Barley will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Ft. Loudon.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services on Tuesday in the church.

Joseph T. Gall
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Joseph T. "Joe" Gall, of 10538 Buena Vista Drive, Waynesboro, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born in Thurmont, Md., he was the son of the late Fleet Howard and Anna Mary Baumgardner Gall.
He was a graduate of Thurmont High School and received an associates degree from Frederick Community College and a bachelor of arts degree in education from Towson University, Towson, Md. He then received a law degree and doctorate degree of law from University of Baltimore.
He taught school at New Midway Elementary School and then Walkersville Middle School before retiring in 1993. Prior to that was employed with Sinclair Oil Company, Frederick, Md., as a sales representative.
He served in the U.S. Army in the artillery.
He attended Calvary Assembly of God Church, Waynesboro.
He was a member of National A.A.R.P., Sigma Delta Kappa Fraternity, American Legion Post 211, Funkstown, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Chambersburg, and Redmen of Williamsport.
He was a recipient of the National Award in Biology from Fort Detrick.
He is survived by his wife, Doria I. Mummert Gall, whom he married
in 1977; two sons, Paul L. Houpt of Chambersburg, and Kurt Houpt of Carlisle, Pa.; one sister, Janet Ann Hess of Emmitsburg, Md.; five step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David C. Gall.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Assembly of God Church, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro. The Rev. W. Ronald Fearer and the Rev. Dwan N. Newsome will officiate. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery, Thurmont.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 at Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro, and one hour prior to the services in the church.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Honor Guard of Charles M. Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post 1599, Chambersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Catherine R. Wishard

Born Oct. 12, 1913, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna Stoner Sheffler.
She was preceded in death in 1964, by her husband, Charles D. Wishard, whom she married
in 1946.
She attended Zullinger schools.
She retired in 1978 from South Mountain Restoration Center where she worked in housekeeping. Prior to that she was employed at Nu-Way Cleaners, Waynesboro as a presser, and in her early life worked at Stanley Company, Chambersburg as an assembler.
She was a member of Unity Club, Chambersburg.
She is survived by one daughter, Carol A. Welsh of Waynesboro; one son, Donald L. Wishard of Shippensburg, Pa.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Stevens; and three brothers, Merle Sheffler, Guy Sheffler, and Ralph Sheffler.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro. The Rev. Donald L. Myers and the Rev. Allen L. Stevens will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, Pa.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Clara V. Newcomer

in 1928.
She was of the Protestant faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Stouffer of Smithsburg, and Shirley Chen of 29 Palms, Calif.; one son, Harold F. Newcomer Jr., of Great Mills, Md.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two children.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in The Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro. The Rev. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
