QUINCY, Pa. - Ruth C. Myers Mentzer, 86, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 215-B Elder Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born May 16, 1912, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Harry C. and Lillie E. Dull Myers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Mentzer Jr., in 1998. They were married
Aug. 28, 1940.
She was employed at Mont Alto Shirt Factory for 15 years as a machine operator.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolynn M. Nau of Germantown, Md., and Victoria M. Jones of Waynesboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Isabelle Myers and Edith Wade; a brother, Ralph Myers; and a great-granddaughter, Carlee Victoria Johns, in 1997.
Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing.

Kenneth H. Baker
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Kenneth H. Baker, 87, a resident of Piney Mountain Home, and formerly of 123 Hamilton Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Nov. 10, 1911, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Harry David and Elsie Myrtle Willard Baker.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annie E. Crumbacker Trite Baker, in 1971. They were married
July 30, 1936.
He was employed with Landis Tool Co. in Waynesboro for 42 years, working first in the stockroom and then in the production department. He retired from Landis Tool Co. in 1980.
He was a member of Otterbein United Brethren in Christ Church, Pen Mar.
He is survived by his second wife, Frances Larue Verdier Baker, whom he married
Dec. 8, 1971; a son, Richard K. Baker of Smithsburg; four stepdaughters, Patricia May Green of Richmond, Va., Frances Blickenstaff of Smithsburg, Elizabeth Wagaman of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patricia Wagaman of Severn, Md.; two stepsons, C. Marshall Trite of Mount Holly, N.C., and Charles E. Trite of Cascade; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; stepgrandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; a sister, Carrie Dayhoff of Hamilton, Ohio; a brother, Merle Baker of Cascade; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, John L. Baker, in 1990; two sisters, Edith Rock and Evelyn Woodring; and a brother, Harold Baker.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert F. Bonner will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edwin L. Kolnoski
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Edwin L. Kolnoski, 79, of 220 Lehman Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, at Harrisburg (Pa.) Hospital.
Born June 28, 1919, in Johnsonburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph and Pauline Polesky Kolnoski.
He retired in 1980 from Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg, Pa., with 40 years of total federal service. He had been employed by Linden Motor Freight Co., Linden, N.J. He was then employed by the U.S. government at Raritan Arsenal in Woodbridge, N.J., prior to transferring to Letterkenny.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Sante Fe.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599; VFW Chambersburg; Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion; and Knights of Columbus Council 1426.
He had served in the Merchant Marines and the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression.
He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Kanski Kolnoski; two daughters, Lynn F. Earnest of Chambersburg and Kathleen Beaslon of Fayetteville; a sister, Adalien Reynolds of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a brother, John Kolnoski of Linden, Md.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Rozanski.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Luis R. Rodriguez will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg. Military graveside services will be conducted by members of Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, where the rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Helen M. Trego
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Helen M. Trego, 76, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of Greenvillage, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at the rehabilitation center, where she lived since December.
Born May 29, 1922, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul H. and Esther R. Nye Shadle.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lininger; and her second husband, John Trego, in 1980.
She was a waitress at the former Shadel's Diner in Greenvillage. She also was employed by the former Shirtcraft Co. in Shippensburg, Pa.; and Post Restaurant at Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg.
She is survived by a son, Gary L. Lininger of Chambersburg; a sister, Lorraine Pharo of Shippensburg; a brother, Gerald Shadle of Chambersburg; a granddaughter; a grandson; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant son.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Paul B. Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Born May 6, 1909, in Greensburg, W.Va., he was the son of the late Thomas M. and Ada M. Jacobs.
He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot near Chambersburg.
He was a member of Open Door Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Johnson Jacobs, whom he married
May 10, 1966; a stepdaughter, Violet R. Kling of Chambersburg; a stepson, Carl E. Kling of Knoxville, Tenn.; a brother, Kenneth Jacobs of Martinsburg, W.Va.; 10 stepgrandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate.
There will be no public viewing.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John A. Born Aug. 6, 1916, in Centralia, Pa., he was the son of the late John and Rachel Yoder Leam.
He was a graduate of Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, Pa. He received his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia in 1953.
He practiced as a general physician in Chambersburg with Dr. William Bender. After receiving his degree in pathology form the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, he became chief pathologist and laboratory director at Sunbury, Pa. Hospital. He was chief pathologist at St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh.
After completing his internship at Philadelphia Naval Hospital, he served in the First Marine Division on Pavvu, Tulagi, Guadalcanal, Okinawa and in China as a battalion surgeon.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg.
He was 32nd degree mason, and a member of Scottish Rite, A.A.R.P. Chapter 2840, Chambersburg, Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599, VFW, Chambersburg, and B.P.O. Elks of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Croft Leam, whom he married
in 1942; one daughter, Susan Leam Ashford of Abbeville, La.; two nephews and four grandchildren. He was the last of his immediate family.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
Memorial services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg, 1811 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. Jeffrey L. Roth will officiate. Burial will be private.
There will be no viewing.
