CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John M. Pensinger, 79, of ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, and formerly of Orrstown, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, in the nursing home.

Born May 6, 1919, in Greencastle, Pa., he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lottie Wishard Pensinger.

He was a graduate of Greencastle High School.

He was a car salesman. He also bought and sold antiques.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by two daughters, Ruby Wright of St. Thomas, Pa., and Brenda Stewart of Texas; one son, Dennis Pensinger of Chambersburg; two sisters, Mary Statler of Menno Village, Chambersburg, and Ruth Mull of Chambersburg; two brothers, Arthur Pensinger of Chambersburg and Carroll Pensinger of Waynesboro, Pa; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Toms; and two brothers, Emmert Pensinger and Wilbur Pensinger.

A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. Chaplain Ken Wenger will officiate.

There will be no public viewing.

Arrangements are by Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle.

Louise W. Shoemaker

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Louise W. Shoemaker, 86, of 5 Lakewood Court, Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

She was employed at Chambersburg Hospital as a dietary food supervisor.

She was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Suzanne Shanklin of Chambersburg; one son, Max Shoemaker of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Royce Wever.

A memorial service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Park Avenue United Methodist Church, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Chambersburg, at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201; or Park Avenue United Methodist Church, 125 Park Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.

Janet L. Thornton

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Janet L. Thornton, 79, of ManorCare Health Services, and formerly of 1106 Park Circle, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999, at ManorCare.

Born Aug. 11, 1919, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Marge V. Harrison Lovett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Thornton, in 1974.

She attended Art Fellows Hall.

She was employed as a seamstress and as a hairdresser.

She was a member of John Wesley A.M.E. Zion Church, Chambersburg, was a member of Christian Endeavor, taught Sunday school, was also a member of the choir and played the organ.

She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Stoner, and Arlette Harper, both of Chambersburg; one brother, Calvin Lovett of Chambersburg; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Anita Battle; two sisters, Alice Mae Boles and Helen Keith; and three brothers, Clarence Lovett, Theodore Lovett Jr., and James Lovett.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Leroy Blair will officiate. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Wednesday at noon at the funeral home.

Nedra J. Guyer

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Nedra J. Guyer, 53, of 5400 Lincoln Way East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at her home.

Born May 21, 1945, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Reba T. Karns Fitzwater.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Community Pentecostal Mission in Chambersburg, Pa..

She is survived by her husband, Charles A. Guyer; one daughter, Lorrie Boggs of Fayetteville; one son, Curtis L. Guyer of Chambersburg; one sister, Sharon Y. McKeever of Chambersburg; a half-sister, Nancy Overcash of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Charles Hammond.

Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Community Pentecostal Mission, 4580 Jack Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Clarence W. Dehart Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association Franklin County Chapter, c/o Doris J. Goetz, 219 W. Second St., Waynesboro, PA 17268; or to Community Pentecostal Mission, 4580 Jack Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Peggy A. Coldsmith

She was a 1964 graduate of Chambersburg High School.

She was a cook at Norland Restaurant in Chambersburg, Pa., for 14 years. She previously worked at the A&P in Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Coldsmith, whom she married May 20, 1966; one daughter, Jodi C. Bellows of Fayetteville; one son, David S. Coldsmith of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, William Seibert.

Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Christopher T. Little will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Thursday at noon at the funeral home.

Born May 6, 1914, in Cito, Pa., she was the daughter of the late George Glen and Ocie Irene Mellott Heinbaugh.

She is survived by three sisters, Bertha Ott of St. Thomas, Pa., Evelyn Strait of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Bessie Roher of Chambersburg; two brothers, Charles M. Heinbaugh of Mount Union, Pa., and Dayton Heinbaugh of Mercersburg, Pa.; nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
