WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Irving D. "Pop" Stoner, 95, of 334 W. Sixth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, at his home.
Born June 9, 1903, in Smithsburg, he was the son of the late Jacob F. and Florence Berklite Stoner.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther M. Hockensmith Stoner. They were married
May 17, 1924.
He was a 1922 graduate of Waynesboro High School. He completed engineering courses at Frick Co., Waynesboro.
He was employed at Frick Co. in the Engineering Department for more than 45 years. He also worked for Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, Pa., in the Engineering Department.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, was a church elder and a Sunday School teacher.
He was on the board of directors of the Waynesboro YMCA, where he helped to initiate the Fourth of July fireworks display. He was a member of Waynesboro School Board from 1940 to 1958.
He also was a member of Knights of Pithias, Waynesboro. He was a founding leader of Boy Scout Troop 5, later Troop 25, Waynesboro. He was instrumental in starting Sinoquipe Boy Scout Camp near Fort Littleton. A three-time recipient of the Silver Beaver, the highest award given by the Boy Scouts, he also earned the God and Country awards.
He is survived by a daughter, B. Jane Stoner of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dewey Stoner; and three sisters, Eva Stoner-Smith, Mabel Bloom and Meda Stoner.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 30 W. North St., Waynesboro. The Rev. James T. Williams will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Camp Sinoquipe Scholarship Fund, HCR 74, Fort Littleton, PA 17223.
Donald J. Bryant
QUINCY, Pa. - Donald J. Bryant, 83, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home and formerly of College Park/Berwyn, Md., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at the nursing home.
Born Sept. 18, 1915, in Berwyn, he was the son of the late Amos S. and Ellen T. "Nellie" Tobin Bryant.
He is survived by four daughters, Margaret Ellen Beahm of Hyattsville, Md., Joan Hardman of Mercersburg, Pa., Jeannette Brady of Dayton, Texas, and Kathleen Huddleston of Dripping Springs, Texas; two sons, William Patrick Bryant of Baltimore and Michael Bryant of Peoria, Ill.; a brother, Arthur Bryant of Florida; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by three sons, Donald J. Bryant Jr., Earl Bryant and Stanley Bryant; and two brothers, Earl Bryant and William A. Bryant.
Services will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at Borgwardt Funeral Home, 4400 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, Md. Pastor Danny Slye will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Episcopal Church Cemetery, corner of Route 1 and Powder Mill Road, Beltsville.
The family will receive friends Sunday at noon, one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Borgwardt Funeral Home, Beltsville and Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro, Pa.
Donald F. Leo
FORT LITTLETON, Pa. - Donald F. "Don" Leo, 76, of 548 Sheepskin Hollow Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Jan. 3, 1923, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was the son of the late John and Laura Stosser Leo.
He was a cartographer for the U.S. Department of Commerce.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy, stationed in the Pacific Theater.
He was a member of VFW Post 655 McConnellsburg; McConnellsburg American Legion; AARP; Volunteer Tax Preparer; NRA; and National L.C.I. Association. He was a 13-gallon blood donor for the Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Paul Leo, whom he married
June 29, 1946.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Leo, in 1997.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, McConnellsburg. The Rev. Donald Bard will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by members of Fulton County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charles L. Crider
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Charles L. Crider, 63, of Shippensburg Health Care Center, Shippensburg, and formerly of 25 N. Ora B. Hare

Born July 21, 1907, in York, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Elva C. Durterer Bankert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Hare, in 1959.
She was a graduate of Littlestown (Pa.) High School.
She had retired as an organist for Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, after more than 50 years.
She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and Colombian Ladies.
She gave organ and piano lessons from her home; and earlier played background music for silent movies in a Littlestown theater; and played piano for minstrel shows and organ at St. Aloysius Church, both of Littlestown.
She is survived by two sons, Francis E. Hare of Chambersburg, and Charles E. Hare of Shippensburg, Pa.; one sister, Catherine Bostion of Hanover, Pa.; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg, with Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner as celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Shook Home, 55 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Mildred O. Rice
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mildred O. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Clopper of Chambersburg and Peggy Presley of Thornburg, Va.; two sisters, Mary Ruth Slonaker and Lola Clendening, both of Martinsburg; a brother, Orval Kesecker of Martinsburg; three stepsisters, Myrtle Guyer of Hagerstown, Alice Bowman and Elsie Zombro, both of Martinsburg; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Nellie Butts and Violet McLaughlin.
Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg. The Rev. Tom Tennis will officiate. Burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donald L. Shank
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Donald L. Born Sept. 11, 1937, in Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Rupert H. and Irene M. Barkdoll Shank.
He was a 1956 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
He was first employed as an electrician by A. G. Crunkleton of Greencastle, Pa. He then worked as an electrician for various construction companies. For the past 13 years, he was employed as a superintendent by Prime Electric Company of Baltimore.
He served with the Waynesboro National Guard.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro.
He was a member of Order of the Owls Nest 1073; Eagles Club Inc.; and Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, all of Waynesboro.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Gutshall Shank, whom he married
Oct. 13, 1956; a daughter, Ann "Beth" Johnson of Evergreen, Colo.; a son, Thomas O. Shank of Waynesboro; two brothers, Robert H. Shank of Waynesboro and James O. Shank of Westminster, Md.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Rebbecca H. Shank, in 1989.
A memorial service will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Lynn D. Trutt will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
