WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Emmert L. Frantz, 88, of 13233 Old Mill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 25, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1910, in Wayne Heights, Pa., he was the son of the late Omer F. and Gertrude E. Newcomer Frantz.
He was a 1930 graduate of Washington Township High School, and attended Waynesboro Business School.
He farmed with his father until 1949. He then worked at local businesses before retiring from the tap plant at Landis Teledyne in 1978. Following his retirement, he was employed part time at Outlet Barn.
He was of the Protestant faith. He was a former member of Harbaugh Evangelical and Reformed Church, Rouzerville, where he was an elder, deacon, choir member and Sunday school superintendent.
He is survived by his wife Lillian I. Addlesberger Frantz, whom he married
April 25, 1935; one daughter, Nancy F. Dinterman of Waynesboro; one granddaughter, Alana Beth Dinterman of Waynesboro; and cousins.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Ambulance Squad, 44 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Nancy L. Avey, 51, of 332 W. Born June 12, 1947, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Robert G. Hardman of Waynesboro and the late Virginia A. Rock Hardman.
She was a 1965 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School and a 1966 graduate from Waynesboro Business College.
She was employed at CVS Pharmacy, Waynesboro, as a clerk. Prior to that, she was employed at Ye Olde Grill, McCrory's Store, both of Waynesboro, Kraft Korner and Corning Outlet Store.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Friends of Renfrew, Waynesboro, and served as minority inspector at Fairview School during elections.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. "Dick" Avey, whom she married
in 1968; a daughter, Amy R. Muck of Quincy, Pa.; a son, Andrew R. Avey of Shippensburg, Pa.; a brother, Robert L. Hardman of Dallas; a granddaughter; two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Waynesboro. The Rev. Gary A. Miller will officiate.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
Earl W. Harbaugh
FAIRFIELD, Pa. - Earl W. Harbaugh, 73, of 49 Cove Hollow Road, Fairfield, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1999, at the home of his companion, Gladys Toms, 253 Colorado Street, Marion, Pa.
Born Nov. 14, 1925, in Fairfield, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Lelah M. Wise Harbaugh.
His wife, Marie Alice Tresler Harbaugh, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1980. They were married
in 1946.
He attended Fountaindale School.
He was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill and West Penn Power Company as a lineman for 32 years, retiring in 1984.
He served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded several Bronze Stars and two Purple Hearts.
He was a member of Harry D. Ziegler VFW Post 6319, Greencastle, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, Waynesboro, American Legion Department of Pennsylvania, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 105, Gettysburg, Pa., AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg, Blue Ridge Sportsmen Association, Cascade American Legion Post 239, Cascade, and South Mountain Rod and Gun Club, Smithsburg.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara A. Baker of Hanover; a son, Robert E. Harbaugh of Fairfield; five sisters, Florence Miller of Quincy, Pa., Alice Weddle of Rouzerville, Kathryn Mowen of Chambersburg, Phyliss Lightner of Marion, and Darlene Bricker of Waynesboro; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Walter A. Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Jacob's Church Cemetery, Liberty Township, Adams County.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Military services will be between 7:30 and 8 p.m. by Harry D. Ziegler VFW Honor Guard.
Graveside military services will be conducted by Charles M. Nitterhouse VFW Post 1599 Honor Guard, Chambersburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

She was employed at Stanley Company, Chambersburg, as a presser for a number of years. She also worked at Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, in the housekeeping department for 10 years.
She was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren in Christ Church, Tomstown, Pa., and of Willing Workers Sunday School Class, where she served as treasurer, the Women's Missionary Fellowship, and Kitchen Committee of the church. She helped with communion for 35 years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ralph E. Monn; a sister, Rosetta S. Minnich of Waynesboro; a brother, Merne H. Bakner Jr. of Chambersburg; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Donald L. Bender and the Rev. Jaye M. Bartle will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Roger K. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery, Smithsburg.
