CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert L. "Schaeff" Schaeffer, 50, of 449 Norland Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at his home.
Born Aug. 16, 1948, in Shippensburg, Pa., he was the son of the late Clarence and Harriet Hoch Schaeffer.
He was a baker at Shippensburg University.
He is survived by his wife, Avis Tolbert Schaeffer; three daughters, Dorothy Harnish of Chambersburg, Anna Coons of Newville, Pa., and Tammy Bingaman of Greencastle, Pa.; four brothers; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at First Church of God, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg. The Rev. K. Hull Byers will officiate.
There will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Church of God, 339 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Arrangements are by Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, Chambersburg.
Harold M. Gress Sr.
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Harold M. "Barney" Gress Sr., 78, of McConnellsburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg.
Born Nov. 25, 1920, in Knobsville, Pa., he was the son of the late Chalmers A. "Chow" and Hazel Owens Gress.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Kozer Gress, in 1996.
He retired from PennDOT as an equipment operator in 1982; he also was a farmer.
He was a lifetime member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, McConnellsburg.
He was a lifetime member of Fulton Rodeo and Saddle Club; and a former Todd Township, Pa. supervisor.
He is survived by six sons, Maynard Gress of Welsh Run, Pa., Ronald Gress, Gary Gress, Dennis "Zeke" Gress and Harold Gress Jr., all of McConnellsburg and Dale Gress of Ocala, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son; and two sisters.
Services will be Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Evangel Assembly of God Church, McConnellsburg. Pastor Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Sipes Funeral Home Inc., Harrisonville, Pa.; and Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
Llewellyn T. Coble
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Llewellyn T. "Tom" Coble, 90, of Penn Hall Nursing Center and formerly of 6922 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at Penn Hall.
Born Sept. 6, 1908, in Lemasters, Pa., he was the son of the late Jacob Alvin and Susie Kistler Coble.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Brisentine Coble, in 1993.
He was a graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College; and a graduate student of the University of Maryland.
He was a well known Ayrshire Dairy Farmer and a teacher of mathematics in Franklin County, Pa., and the Harrisburg, Pa., area.
He was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Upton, Pa.
He was a member of the school board in Montgomery Township, Franklin County for many years.
He was a collector of antiques and rare books. Many items that he collected have been loaned to museums including the Renfrew Museum in Waynesboro, Pa.
He was the holder of the Mile Collegiate Record in the state of Pennsylvania. He was inducted into the Shippensburg University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.
He also was a writer, having written for various newspapers including The Public Opinion.
He is survived by three daughters, Susan Hoch of Gaithersburg, Md., Ellen Mulholland of Audubon, N.J. and Jeanne Diamond of Cary, N.C.; a son, Thomas Coble of Greencastle, Pa.; a sister, Lillian Rockett of Manheim, Pa.; two brothers, Richard Coble of Vermont and Jacob Coble of Tallahassee, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; and three brothers.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. The Rev. Alan R. Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Coble's Cemetery, St. Thomas, Pa.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.

Cecile C. Johnson

Born Aug. 26, 1908, in Jordon Township, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John A. and Florence Heller Sherwood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Johnson, in 1979.
She was a volunteer with 20, 000 hours at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.
She was a member of Moose of Hagerstown; and American Legion Morris Frock Post 42 Auxiliary in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Housekecht of Unityville, Pa. and Florence Zeisloft of Millville; a son, Charles Kitzmiller of Unityville; two sisters, Martha Kriss of Patrick Junction, Ariz., and Mabel Shultz of Hughsville, Pa.; two brothers, Raymond Sherwood of Unityville and Howard Sherwood of Dushore, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Paul A. Eshelman
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Paul A. Born Feb. 26, 1911, in St. Thomas, Pa., he was the son of the late A. Milton and Fannie Culler Eshelman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sydney E. Kessinger Eshelman, in 1997.
He was a truck driver for E.L.M. Feeds in St. Thomas and had been a hog farmer for many years prior to retirement.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Chambersburg.
He was a member of Fort Loudon American Legion, and Deatrich Brechbill American Legion in St. Thomas.
He is survived by a sister, Florence Mackey of Carlisle, Pa.; and three brothers, Nelson E. Eshelman and Raymond C. Eshelman, both of Chambersburg and Garnet K. Eshelman of St. Thomas.
Graveside services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Robert Cook and the Rev. Allen Fleagle will officiate.
There will be no visitation.
