CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Clark A. "Snaz" McNew, 83, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and formerly of 69 W. Main St., Fayetteville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 22, 1999, at the center.
Born Oct. 31, 1915, in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Joshua C. and Bertha V. Baughman McNew.
He was a 1934 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was a machinist for more than 30 years at Chambersburg Engineering Co., retiring in 1979. He also had been employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg for a number of years.
He was a member of First Church of God, Chambersburg, where he was a member of Ever Faithful Bible Class; and had played guitar with the Gospel Sounds.
He had played with the former Twilight Baseball League, Chambersburg; and had been the manager of the former Letterkenny Generals baseball team.
He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Frey McNew, whom he married
Feb. 1, 1958; two daughters, Peggy A. Reiley and Bonnie L.H. Hulock, both of Chambersburg; a son, Ronald C. McNew of Waynesboro, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers.
Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. K. Hull Byers will officiate. Burial will be in Gipes Grove Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be Monday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

Max W. Doyle
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Max Walter Doyle, 52, of 650 Lincoln Way East, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at his home.
Born Oct. 2, 1946, in Columbia, S.C., he was the son of Jacquelyn Metcalf Doyle of McConnellsburg and the late Norman E. Doyle Jr.
He worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1993 as supervisor of fire control.
He was a member of North American Fishing Club; Sons of the American Legion in Fort Loudon; AMVETS Post 224; Chambersburg Club; Moose Lodge 842; Moose Legion 41; American Legion Post 606; Marine Corps League; and Chambersburg Dart League.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons, Max W. Doyle Jr. of Chambersburg and Thomas Christopher Doyle of Williamson, Pa.; four sisters, Trudy Kendall and Tracy Culler, both of McConnellsburg, Helen Yvonne Meyers and Pamela Toth, both of Greencastle, Pa.; four brothers, Edward Doyle, Jeff Doyle and Andy Doyle, all of McConnellsburg, and Benjamin Doyle of Charlottsville, Va.; and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg.
Ned R. Fogelsonger
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Ned R. Born Jan. 24, 1947, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Barbara E. Stermer Fogelsonger Mummert of Hanover, Pa., and the late Ned M. Fogelsonger.
He was a 1964 graduate of Shippensburg Area Senior High School; and a 1971 graduate of Shippensburg University.
He was president of Fogelsonger Agency Inc., with offices in Shippensburg and Greencastle, Pa.
He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Shippensburg.
He was a member of the board of directors of Orrstown Bank, where he was chairman of the Trust and Financial Services Committee. He was on the board of directors of Orrstown Financial, Inc. and Shippensburg University Foundation; a past president of Shippensburg United Way; past president and board member of Shippensburg Area Chamber of Commerce; a member of Shippensburg Fish and Game Association; Cumberland Valley Lodge 315 Free and Accepted Masons; Valley Forest 145 Tall Cedars of Lebanon; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Temple, where he was a member of the Clown Unit; The Wednesday Club; Chambersburg County Club; Hub City Club.
He was a social member of Durff-Kuhn VFW Post 6168; Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223; National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship; Candlelights Children Cancer Foundation; and Clowns of American International.
He was a former member of Shippensburg Lions Club and Shippensburg Rotary Club.
He was a member of Professional Insurance Agents of Pennsylvania; a member and former board member of National Life Underwriters Association and the recipient of the National Quality Award for 1975-1976; past chairman of Aetna Agents Advisory Board; and was a certified life underwriter.
He had been an American Cancer Society Cansurmount Counselor since 1987.
He was a past recipient of The Outstanding Young Man of the Year Award given by the Shippensburg Jaycees.
He had been the mascot of the Shippensburg Corn Festival, "Corny the Clown."
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Judy K. Young Fogelsonger; a daughter, Lisa Baer, of Shippensburg; a son, Bryan A. Fogelsonger of Shippensburg; a sister, Patricia Fogelsonger of Clearwater, Fla.; a stepbrother, Steve Mummert of Hanover; a stepsister, Sue Heller of Orefield, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Mummert.
Services will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Old Main of Shippensburg University. The Rev. Canon William F. Murphey and the Rev. James H. Zeisloft will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
The viewing will be Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg, with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. by members of Cumberland Valley Lodge 315 Free and Accepted Masons.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - L. Born Aug. 25, 1907, in Clay Hill, Pa., he was the son of the late Frank M. and Margie Miner Smith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary F. Coldsmith Smith, in 1995.
He was a 1925 graduate of Greencastle High School.
In his early years, he was employed by Pennsylvania State Roads Commission. Later, he was self-employed as an electrical contractor. He was employed by Landis Machine Co. of Waynesboro for 32 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Quincy, Pa.
He was a member of Mount Pisgah Masonic Lodge 443 F & AM of Greencastle, Pa.; and a former member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary F. Shives of Waynesboro; a half brother, Glenn M. Smith of North Port, Fla.; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen L. Benchoff; an infant son, Harold F. Smith; a brother, Harold Smith; and a stepbrother, Norman Garnes.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greencastle. The Rev. Herbert Spomer will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
There will be no public viewing.
Mary A. Strock
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mary A. Strock, 87, a resident of Shook Home, Chambersburg, and formerly of 538 Nelson St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Jan. 6, 1912, in Culbertson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Arminta Brechbiel Hargleroad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Strock, in 1986.
She was a 1931 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
She retired in 1974 from H.J. Heinz Co., Chambersburg, after 25 years.
She was a member of Scotland United Methodist Church, Scotland, Pa., Willing Workers Sunday School Class and the Missionary Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Ritchey and Shirley V. Fahnestock, both of Chambersburg; five sons, James E. Strock, Jack W. Strock, and Jan M. Strock, all of Chambersburg; Dennis G. Strock of Mercersburg, Pa., and Terry L. Strock of Elkton, Md.; one sister, Velva C. Gayman of Chambersburg; 28 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lynn Strock; and one brother, Melvin Hargleroad.
Funeral services and burial will be private. The Rev. Charles L. Kind will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Chambersburg.
There will be no viewing.
