CARLISLE, Pa. - Ralph T. "Tedd" Holstay, 67, of 31 Northview Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at his home.
Born June 20, 1931, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Velva M. Landis Bromley of Chambersburg, and the late Ralph E. Holstay. He was the stepson of the late Henry E. Bromley.
He was a 1948 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was employed as a manager by Giant in Carlisle, retiring due to health. He also was a manager of Jack-in-the-Box in Texas and Baltimore.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Chambersburg.
He played guard and tackle in semipro football for the Chambersburg Cardinals from 1951 to 1959.
He was a member of BPO Elks 600 in Chambersburg, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842 in Chambersburg, and Chambersburg Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by three daughters, Tara Holstay and Michelle N. Holstay, both of Chambersburg, and Vi Alexis Holstay of Carlisle; three sons, Dana K. Holstay of Enola, Pa., Daryl K. Holstay Sr. of Dillsburg, Pa., and Ryan C. Holstay of Carlisle; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas K. Holstay.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
James F. Murphy Jr.
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - James F. Murphy Jr., 71, of 119 W. Walnut St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Washington County Hospital.
Born Nov. 21, 1926, in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late James F. Sr. and Jean Lazarus Daum Murphy.
He was a graduate of Fordham University.
He was employed in sales for IBM Corp. prior to retirement.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in McConnellsburg.
He also was a member of McConnellsburg American Legion, McConnellsburg VFW, Loyal Order of Moose of Mercersburg, Pa., and Fulton County Pistol and Rifle Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Daryl Murphy Devlin of New York City, and Erin Murphy of Stanford, Conn.; one brother, Robert Murphy of New York City; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Church in McConnellsburg, with the Rev. Joseph Orr, as celebrant. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc., 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg.
Lester M. Detwiler

Born May 22, 1921, in Saltillo, Huntingdon County, Pa., he was the son of the late George W. and Ruth F. Hoffman Detwiler.

He was a farmer, and also worked at Letterkenny Army Depot for two years.

He was a member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church in McConnellsburg.
He is survived by his wife, Kathaleen Mellott Detwiler, whom he married
May 14, 1995; five daughters, Jane Martz of McConnellsburg, Radna Koontz of Harrisonville, Pa., Eileen McQuait and Carol Brown, both of Hustontown, Pa., and Nancy Fegan of Chambersburg, Pa.; one son, Carl Detwiler of Hustontown; two stepdaughters, Alma Cullers of Chambersburg, and Martha West of Hagerstown; one stepson, Harold Mellott of Telford, Pa.; three sisters, Daisy Nycum of McConnellsburg, Winifred Halbleib of Bainbridge, Pa., and Mary Giardine of Huntingdon, Pa.; four brothers, Joseph Detwiler of Three Springs, Pa., Freeman Detwiler of Rockhill Furnace, Pa., Theodore Detwiler of Hustontown, and Harold Detwiler of Mill Creek, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; and five stepgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Saltillo. Pastor David Carrol will officiate. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.
Visitaton will be held at the temporary site of Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Fulton Theater, McConnellsburg, Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m., and at Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Saltillo, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
Dorothy L. Shearer
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Dorothy L. Born Dec. 19, 1921, in Concord, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Clara Yocum Coons.

She was housekeeper at Wilson College for 34 years.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Ann Fleming of Chambersburg; one stepson, Howard Shearer of Fannettsburg, Pa.; three sisters, Marian Sanders of Chambersburg, Velma Wiser of Newville, Pa., and Pauline George of Willow Hill, Pa.; two brothers, Norman Coons of Chambersburg, and Merle Coons of Concord; two grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Coons; and three brothers, Harold Coons, Donald Coons and Raymond Coons.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Ltd., 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. The funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Robert J. LeBleu Sr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Robert J. "Bob" LeBleu Sr., 75, of 22 N. Grant St., and formerly of Rockville, Md., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Nov. 20, 1922, in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of the late Euclide J. and Alice Maille LeBleu.
He received his GED while serving in the military.
He was employed by the federal government for 35 years, 16 years with the Department of Commerce, 16 years with the National Institutes of Health, retiring in 1978.
Following retirement, he worked part time for Dean Bercaw's.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific Theater, and stationed in China.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Waynesboro.
He also was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15, BPO Elks Lodge 731, Eagles Club Inc., all of Waynesboro, and National AARP.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Frances Ingraham LeBleu, whom he married
March 4, 1949; one daughter, Deborah J. Davidson of Towson, Md.; one son, Robert J. LeBleu of Catonsville, Md.; one sister, Pauline Parke of Lowell, Mass.; one brother, Arthur H. LeBleu of Tampa, Fla.; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Gordon Edmond LeBleu; one sister, Rita Blouin; and one brother, Albert LeBleu.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Charles B. Jessen will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no public viewing; however the family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church, 105 E. Main St., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268; or to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
