WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Dorothy J. Aldridge Provard, 76, of 12189 Old Forge Road, and formerly of West Virginia and New York, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Nov. 30, 1921, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Albert and Dora Myrtle Furlow Aldridge.
She attended Waynesboro schools.
She was a cook at Waynesboro Travel Lodge, BPO Elks, and Joe Stickell American Legion, all in Waynesboro.
She was a member of the former Peace United Methodist Church on Mentzer Gap Road in Waynesboro.
She also was a member of South Chapter 2977 AARP in Waynesboro, National AARP, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 Ladies Auxiliary in Waynesboro, and BPO Elks Lodge 731 Ladies Auxiliary in Waynesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Larry L. Provard, whom she married
May 29, 1967; two sons, Jesse L. Day of Ozark, Ark., and Harley B. Day of Berlin, Md.; one brother, John D. Aldridge of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen P. Athey; and four brothers, T. Edward Aldridge, L. Elmer Aldridge, I. Leonard Aldridge and Lloyd L. Aldridge.
Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor K. Allan Mummert will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Memorial donations may be made to Lutheran Social Services, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
William I. Carnell
WARFORDSBURG, Pa. - William I. Carnell, 57, of RD 1, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Oct. 17, 1998, at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown.
Born Nov. 8, 1940, in Warfordsburg, he was the son of the late Frank L. and Freda E. Mellott Carnell.
He was a heavy equipment operator for 25 years for New Enterprise in New Enterprise, Pa., and was employed by Brake Construction in St. Thomas, Pa.
He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren in Needmore, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L. Schetrompf Carnell, whom he married
April 25, 1959; two daughters, Tina Marlene Booth of Warfordsburg, and Janet Lee Ritchie; three sons, Jeffrey A. Carnell and John Arnold Carnell, both of Warfordsburg, and Wayne Graig Carnell of Hancock; one sister, Beverly Youngblood of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and nine grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1057 Haven Road, Hagerstown, Md. 21740.
Vaughn M. Seville

Born Jan. 22, 1976, in McConnellsburg, he was the son of Roy R. and Connie Mae McElhaney Seville of McConnellsburg.
He was a graduate of Central Fulton High School.
He was an equipment operator for H.B. Mellott Estate of Warfordsburg, Pa.
He attended Laurel Ridge Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.
He is survived by one son, Drew Alexander Seville of McConnellsburg; two sisters, Gloria Brindle of Mount Olive, N.C., and Valerie Morrison of Grafton, Va.; maternal grandparents, Janet Seville of McConnellsburg and Charles McElhaney of Fayetteville, Pa.; paternal grandparents, Merrill and Edith Keefer Seville of McConnellsburg; and maternal great-grandmother, Catherine Sipes of Woodland Nursing Home in Orbisonia, Pa.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Laurel Ridge Christian Church in Big Cove Tannery. The Rev. David Hamilton will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc. in McConnellsburg, today from 6 to 9 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The funeral home will be open today from 4 to 9 p.m.
Charles D. Myers
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Charles D. "Dutch" Myers, 93, of 700 McKinley St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Shook Home.
He was born May 1, 1905, in Chambersburg.
He owned the former Myers Brothers Distributors on South Street from 1933 to 1979.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Second Lutheran Church.
He was a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Loyal Order of Moose 842, Hume McNeal Byers Post 224 AMVETS, Chambersburg Club, a social member of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW; and a life member of Chambersburg Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Vanderau Myers; two stepdaughters, Judy Helfrick of Upper Strasburg, Pa., and Saundra Fisher of Fayetteville, Pa.; one sister, Margaret "Pete" Grove of Altoona, Pa.; six stepgrandchildren; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
The family requests the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Shook Home, 55 S. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201; or to American Cancer Society, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
Barbara J. Mellott

Born Oct. 13, 1957, in McConnellsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of John P. and Iva June Strait Winter of Warfordsburg.
She was a 1975 graduate of Southern Fulton High School in Warfordsburg.
She was employed in the insurance claims department of Rayloc in Hancock.
She served in the U.S. Army.
She was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Angie J. Mellott of Warfordsburg; three sisters, Jackie Kerns of Hancock, Jenny Mellott of Needmore and Judy Peck of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; and one brother, Johnny Winter of Orlando, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Winter; and one niece.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at Needmore Bible Church. The Rev. Doug Poffenberger will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial donations may be made to United Way of Washington County, 998 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21740.
