Born May 9, 1927, in Luray, Va., he was the son of the late Luther Walter and Vanda Jenkins Burcker.
He had been employed by Reinhart Orchards in Smithsburg.
He was of the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ruth N. Viands Burcker; two daughters, Darlene K. Shatzer and Virginia Ann Wiles, both of Greencastle, Pa.; two sons, Laurence Howard Burcker Sr. of Bunker Hill, W.Va., and Luther Lee Burcker of Waynesboro; a sister, Darlene Thompson of Kearneysville, W.Va.; three brothers, Louis Burcker of Leetown, W.Va., Walter Burcker of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Joseph Burcker of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Burcker in 1955; a sister, Flossie B. Dodson; and three brothers, Jerry M. Burcker, Nathan Burcker and Archie Burcker.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. Pastor Leon Yoder will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens, Martinsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Virginia B. St. Clair
UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - Virginia Belle St. Clair, 56, of 9910 Upper Strasburg Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Oct. 19, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born Nov. 27, 1941, in Eagle, Pa., she was the daughter of Fred and Gertrude Reidel Broggi of Spears, Pa.
She was a licensed practical nurse at Chambersburg Hospital prior to 1978. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
She was a member of AARP.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Sherman St. Clair, whom she married
on June 2, 1978; two daughters, Michelle Calvert of Etters, Pa., and Tylette Fahrney of Greenvillage, Pa.; one sister, Joyce Pandrok of Donora, Pa.; and one grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Bob Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday. The funeral home will be open today from 2 to 9 p.m.
Esther A. Baltozer
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Esther A. Baltozer, 79, of 2073 Scotland Ave., Menno Village, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 1998, at her home.
Born April 14, 1919, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence E. and Mary R. Gontz Mooney.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Baltozer, in 1975.
She was a 1937 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
She had been employed as a secretary at Shippensburg Gas Co., Shippensburg, Pa. She then was employed by Holton Construction Co. in Gainesville, Fla.; and as a secretary for David M. Rahauser, M.D., Chambersburg, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
She was a member of AARP Chapter 1507, Chambersburg.
She is survived by a son, Jeffrey L. Baltozer of Gainesville; two sisters, Dorothy M. Helman of Shippensburg and Mary R. Snoke of Chambersburg; three brothers, Harold T. Mooney, Merion M. Mooney and Vern V. Mooney, all of Chambersburg; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister and three brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Christopher Little will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Meadows Memorial Park East, Gainesville.
Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The omission of flowers is requested.

Albert H. Forrester
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Albert H. Forrester, 91, of 1355 2nd Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998, at the home of his daughter, Doris Bikle.
Born May 10, 1907, in Horse Valley, Pa., he was the son of the late E. Cleveland and Berna Rosenberry Forrester.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Sellers Forester, in 1991.
He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, and was a former member of the choir and church council.
He was logger. He later farmed in Letterkenny.
He retired in 1973 as a founding partner in Forrester Tractor Sales and as a partner in Forrester Lincoln-Mercury Inc.
He was a member of Pennsylvania Farm Equipment Dealers Association; Pennsylvania Farmers Association; and was a former director of Salem Cemetery.
He is survived by seven children, Doris Bikle, Harold Forrester, Laura Jean Gunnet, Eleanor Ostrasky, Carls S. Forrester, Gerald R. Forrester, and A. Jay Forrester, all of Chambersburg; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; siblings Stoey Forrester and Ray W. Forrester, both of Shippensburg, Pa., and Mabel Hammond and Harry D. Leedy, both of Chambersburg.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a granddaughter, a sister and two brothers.
Services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church. The Rev. Beth R. Lupolt will officiate. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Greene Township.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg; and Monday 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2695 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
Catherine H. Brooke
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Catherine H. Brooke, 88, of Room 531, Penn Hall, and formerly of North First Street in McConnellsburg, Pa., and Washington, D.C., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 1998, at Penn Hall.
Born Jan. 12, 1910, in Crum Lynne, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James and Bridget Shevelin Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. "Bing" Brooke, in 1970.
She retired from the Department of Commerce in 1980 where she worked as a telephone operator. She worked for C & P Telephone Co. in Washington, D.C., and Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania. She received her LPN from Chambersburg Hospital and worked for Suburban Hospital in Silver Spring, Md., and Fulton County (Pa.) Medical Center as a nurse.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, McConnellsburg and the Women's Evangelic Lutheran Christian Association.
She was a member of North End Garden Club, McConnellsburg American Legion Auxiliary, Lutheran Social Services and was a Fulton County Library volunteer.
She is survived by one daughter, June Finafrock of Greencastle, Pa.; two grandchildren, Terry Finafrock of Zullinger, Pa., and Kelly Cuff of Mercersburg; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant grandson in 1963.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, McConnellsburg. The Rev. Henry Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Endowment Fund of St. Paul Lutheran Church, 220 N. Third St., McConnellsburg, Pa. 17233.
