He was born July 21, 1943, in Mahoney City, Pa.
He was employed as a truck driver by R&A Bender Inc. of Chambersburg for the past six years.
He attended Air Hill Brethren in Christ Church of Chambersburg.
He was a first aid and CPR instructor with the Red Cross.
He is survived by his wife, Connie Spidle Dawe, whom he married
29 years ago on the date of his death; one daughter, Angela Johnson of Newburg, Pa.; one son, Dustin R. Dawe of Newburg; and two grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Cleon Nyce will officiate. Burial will be in Stenger Hill Cemetery, Fort Loudon, Pa.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Eliab N. Wenger Jr.
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Eliab N. Wenger Jr., 75, of 5978 Cumberland Highway, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Oct. 26, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 9, 1923, in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, Pa., he was the son of the late Eliab N. Wenger Sr. and Minnie Belle Carmack Wenger.
He retired in 1985 from the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill, Pa. He also owned the former Culbertson Feed and Supply Inc., Chambersburg.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater.
He attended Salem United Brethren Church.
He was a member of Orrstown Lodge 262 Free and Accepted Masons, Harrisburg Consistory AASR; Oscar M. Hykes American Legion Post 223 and AMVETS Post 224.
He is survived by his wife, Miriam M. Elliott Wenger; two daughters, Shirley A. Wenger and Linda S. Zeger, both of Chambersburg; one son, Stephen E. Wenger of Abingdon, Md.; three sisters, Emma Wenger of Lititz, Pa., Bertha Beltz of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Minnie Ruth of Cumberland, Md.; six grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Bradley D. Wenger; six sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Salem United Brethren Church, 4349 Letterkenny Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. John W. Shubert and the Rev. Roger N. Witter will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Greene Township, Pa. Military graveside services will be conducted by Shippensburg VFW and American Legion posts.
Visitation will be at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, 112 W. King St., Shippensburg, Pa., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service Thursday. Masonic services will be conducted by Orrstown Lodge 262 Free and Accepted Masons on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born Aug. 4, 1927, in Franklin County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wilmer H. Tritle Sr. and Eva Edmondson Tritle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. DeShong.
She was a homemaker. She worked at Stanley in Chambersburg, Pa.; Sagner in McConnellsburg; and Johnnie's Diner in McConnellsburg.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Mellott of Fort Loudon, Pa., Deanna Strait and Beth Daniels, both of McConnellsburg; two sons, Robert B. DeShong Jr. of Camp Hill, Pa., and Bradley DeShong of Chambersburg, Pa.; one brother, Wilmer H. Tritle Jr. of Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa. Loy Garber will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
Dorothy H. Leisher

Born May 21, 1931, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Clarence K. and Eva Overcash Horst.
She was a 1949 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
She had been employed by the former Glick Shoe Store, Chambersburg. She then worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, prior to going to work at the former United Telephone Co., Chambersburg. She retired in 1991.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg.
She was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 600 Ladies Auxiliary, Chambersburg, and a member of the bowling league; and Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Chambersburg.
She is survived by her husband, Merle "Doggie" Leisher, whom she married
on Oct. 6, 1950; two daughters, Sharon K. Wiser of Berwyn, Pa., and Sandy Myers of Fayetteville, Pa.; two sons, Doug K. Leisher and Craig B. Leisher, both of Chambersburg; two sisters, M. Louise Badman of New Bloomfield, Pa., and Jeannie Landy of State College, Pa.; one brother, C. Richard Horst of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. C. Edward Morgan will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Thursday.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant F. Shelley, in 1951.
She was a seamstress at sewing factories; and a homemaker.
She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God Church in McConnellsburg.
She is survived by a son, Paul R. Shelley of McConnellsburg; a grandson, Scott R. Shelley of McConnellsburg; a great-grandson, Richard "Andy" Shelley of McConnellsburg; and a great-great-grandson, Austin R. Shelley of McConnellsburg.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Toisie McLaughlin, Marion Seifried and Jennie Shrawder; two brothers, Charles Shrawder and Herman Shrawder; and a son, Earl S. Shelley, in 1976.
Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home. The Rev. Belvy White will officiate. Burial will be in Goodwill Cemetery in Bunkertown at 2 p.m. Thursday.
The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family requests the omission of flowers.

George E. Pheil
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - George E. Born June 20, 1910, in Montgomery Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Harry C. and Viola Sites Pheil.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Beck Pheil, in 1991.
As a young man, he farmed and later worked at Fairchild Industries of Hagerstown. He was a former employee of H.R. Cordell and Seth Metcalfe plumbing companies. He was last employed by Tuscarora School District as head of maintenance, retiring in 1972 after 18 years.
He was a member of Mercersburg Sportsmen's Association. He was a former member of various bowling teams at Buchanan Lanes of Mercersburg.
He is survived by a son, Carlton E. Pheil of Chambersburg; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister; a grandson; and a great-grandson.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Craig A. Loewen and the Rev. Duane Beck will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg.
The viewing will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home; and Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
