Born July 18, 1922, in Beaverdale, Pa., he was the son of the late Norman S. and Hulda Shadle Gladfelter.
He was a 1940 graduate of Mount Union High School, Mount Union, Pa.
He was employed as trucker for more than 30 years with Mack Trucks in Hagerstown. He retired in 1983.
He was a veteran of World War II and served with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Burt J. Asper American Legion Post 46, Chambersburg; and Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Faye A. Naugle Gladfelter, whom he married
on Sept. 8, 1944; one daughter, Glenda F. Slifer of Chambersburg; two sons, Norman S. Gladfelter of Union Bridge, Md., and Robert H. Gladfelter of Chambersburg; nine grandchildren, including a granddaughter, Angela F. Shearer, whom he and his wife raised; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Estelene J. McQuait; and one grandson.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. A. Robert Cook will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Graveside military services will be conducted by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
Paul A. Barnhart
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Paul A. Barnhart, 92, of 1021 S. Fifth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at his home.
Born Oct. 18, 1906, in St. Thomas Township, Franklin County, Pa., he was the son of the late James W. and Martha Garman Barnhart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn A. Spidle Barnhart, in 1979.
He attended school in Williamson, Pa., and attended college at Shippensburg Normal School (now Shippensburg University.)
In his earlier life, he hauled mail from Greencastle, Pa., to Mercersburg, Pa., for 10 years. He then worked as a conductor on the former Pennsylvania Railroad. He last worked as a supervisor for the aged at Quincy United Methodist Home in Quincy, Pa.
For more than 80 years, he was a member of the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Williamson.
He is survived by one son, Larry W. Barnhart of Camp Hill, Pa.; one sister, Kathryn B. Hawk of Chambersburg, Pa.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Theodore Barnhart.
Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Douglas Hodges will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday one hour prior to the service. There will be no public viewing.

Isabelle G. Hancock
CARLISLE, Pa. - Isabelle G. Born Sept. 12, 1909, in Shippensburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Fannie Long Pague.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest W. Hancock, in 1991.
She attended Shippensburg First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one brother, Walter Pague of Middletown, Ohio; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., Shippensburg. The Rev. Arnold V. Segesman will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
Lester C. Green Jr.
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Lester Charles Green Jr., 55, of 11601 Buchanan Trail, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Oct. 31, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born June 27, 1943, in Waynesboro, he was the son of Rachel F. Green of Waynesboro and the late Lester C. Green Sr.
He was last employed by John Wayne Truck Wash in Greencastle, Pa.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a social member of Greencastle American Legion; member of Greencastle Sportsman Association and Waynesboro Fraternal Order of the Eagle.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 34 years, Judy A. Yohe Green; four daughters, Trina L. Shultz of Chambersburg, Judy F. Freeman of Stateline, Pa., Crystal R. Green of Waynesboro and Yolanda M. Miller of Orlando, Fla.; one son, Lester C. Green III of Orlando; eight brothers; one sister; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Frank L. Carbaugh Post 373 American Legion, 254 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Franklin County Unit, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Elizabeth J. Paylor
HERSHEY, Pa. - Elizabeth J. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reed M. Paylor, in 1980.
She was a teacher in Fulton County for 41 years.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, McConnellsburg.
She was a member of Fulton County Medical Center Auxiliary; Fulton County Senior Citizens; a charter member of Ladies Auxiliary of McConnellsburg Volunteer Fire Co.; a member of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees and Lutheran Church Women.
She is survived by one daughter, Maryann Grube of Hershey; three sisters, Dorothy Glen and Irene Layton, both of Harrisburg, Pa., and Beatrice Secrist of Virginia; one brother, Ralph Glenn of McConnellsburg; and three grandchildren.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Glenn and Ethel Clouser; and two brothers, Charles Glenn and Sloan Glenn.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. Second St., McConnellsburg. The Rev. Henry Johnson and Pastor Melvin Weaver will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday one hour prior to the service.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association, 1013 Mumma Road, Lemoyne, Pa. 17043.
