Born Jan. 6, 1921, in Charles Town, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lewis and Leathia Roper Owens.
He was employed by Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg. He was retired.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Hume-McNeal-Byers AMVETS Post 224, Chambersburg.
He is survived by one sister, Gladys Owens Griffin of Chambersburg; one brother, Houston F. Owens Sr. of Chambersburg; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Johnsontown Cemetery, Johnsontown, W.Va. The Rev. Eugene Baltimore will officiate.
Visitation will be at Thomas Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
Esther L. Clippinger
WELLS TANNERY, Pa. - Esther Lea Clippinger, 84, of Star Route 2, Box 130, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.
Born May 3, 1914, in Hopewell, Bedford County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cora Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Clippinger.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She is survived by eight daughters, Bertha Gordon of Mercersburg, Pa., Merriam DeClucels of Garfield, N.J., Matilda Reinhart and Hattie Seville, both of McConnellsburg, Cassie Book of Doylesburg, Pa., Sue Hofstetter of Elizabethville, Pa., Ella Mae Peck of Breezewood, Pa., and Nancy Figard of Wells Tannery; four sons, Eugene Clippinger of Robertsdale, Pa., Lambert Clippinger of Breezewood, Jerry Clippinger of Wells Tannery and Abraham Clippinger of Hopewell; six sisters, Mary Pittman of Fayetteville, Pa., Olive Pittman of Hopewell, Virgie Mellott of Baltimore, Edith Neuder of McConnellstown, Pa., Verna Chamberlain of Coalmont, Pa., and Betty Buscek of Ephrata, Pa.; 34 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one granddaughter, three great-grandchildren, two sisters and three brothers.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa. Pastor Sam Stoey and Pastor Sam Everhart will officiate. Burial will be in Wells Valley Methodist Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from 2 to 9 p.m.
William H. Simmers
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - William Hase Simmers, 81, of 102 S. Potomac St., and formerly of 122 E. Fifth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Oct. 1, 1917, in Mont Alto, Pa., he was the son of the late Clinton Simmers and Bertha Kauffman Simmers Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Isabelle E. Haugh Simmers.
He attended Quincy, Pa., schools.
He retired in 1982 from Landis Machine Co. in Waynesboro after 30 years in the heat treating department.
He was a member of Waynesboro Bible Church and the Men's Bible Class.
He is survived by two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Margarite Prosser; and one brother, Raymond L. Simmers.
Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Robert Fitz will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Friday morning 30 minutes before the service at the funeral home.
Goldie E. Ferry
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Goldie E. Ferry, 85, of 7439 Browns Mill Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998, at her home.
Born Feb. 17, 1913, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fred K. and Carrie E. Summers Sellers.

She attended Greencastle High School.
She retired after 41 years from the Stanley Co. in Chambersburg.
She was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Marion, Pa.
She helped Kauffman Ruritan Club prepare food for banquets at Kauffman Community Center.
She is survived by one son, Fred W. Ferry of Chambersburg; two sisters, Margaret Cump of Greencastle, and Elva Anderson of Greencastle; one brother, Alvin O. Sellers of Greencastle; two granddaughters; two great-grandsons; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Kuhn and Olive Jones; and two brothers, Earl Sellers and Dwight Sellers.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. John A. Toms will officiate. Burial will be in Browns Mill Cemetery in Kauffman Station, Pa.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the building fund of Heidelberg United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 381, Marion, PA 17235.
William G. Marsh

Born Sept. 24, 1920, in Cameron, W.Va., he was the son of the late William Wiley and Georgia Fern Ashbee Marsh.
He was a 1939 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He was employed by Fairchild Aircraft for 43 years, and bred quarter horses.
He was a member of First Christian Church, was a deacon and a member of the Ever Ready Sunday School Class.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6319, American Legion Post 373 and AARP.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean M. Marsh; a daughter, Ellen A. Strock of Greencastle; a son, William Robert Marsh of Greencastle; four grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard P. Marsh.
Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at First Christian Church, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown. The Rev. Fred M. Harris will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, in Hagerstown, and on Friday, one hour prior to service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to First Christian Church, Building the Vision Fund, 1345 Potomac Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
