THOMAS, Pa. - Donald Jay Sarver, 69, of 51 Carlton Circle, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg, Pa.
Born June 13, 1929, in Listie, Somerset County, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward H. and Jennie Watkins Sarver.
From 1961 to 1965, he was employed by the U.S. Naval Shipyard in Brooklyn, N.Y. He then transferred to Letterkenny Army Depot, where he worked until his retirement in 1988. He retired as supervisor of depot facilities in charge of roads and grounds. After retirement, he was employed by Oliver Oil Co. as a part-time cashier at the Wayne Avenue facility.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and served with the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1952.
He attended Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.
He was a lifetime member of Landis McCleaf Marine Corps League, Chambersburg, and American Legion, Greencastle, Pa.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna Mayak Sarver, whom he married
on July 11, 1954; one daughter, Kathy Leese of Chambersburg; one son, Donald E. Sarver of Chambersburg; three sisters, Theda Bertoldi of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, Elsie Ankney of Somerset and Louise Speelman of Friedens, Pa.; one brother, Guy D. Sarver of Friedens; and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearle Foust and Luella M. Kimmel; and five brothers, Glenn Sarver, Russell Sarver, Howard Sarver, Robert Sarver and George Sarver.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc., 6492 Lincoln Way West, St. Thomas, Pa. The Rev. Daniel Lawler will officiate. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral home will be open today from 2 to 9 p.m.
Gladys E. Lewis
HARRISBURG, Pa. - Gladys E. Lewis, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Hagerstown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Nov. 13, 1998, at Manor Care Facility, Lower Paxton Township, Pa.
She was a member of 29th Street United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, James Lewis; one son, George H. Pentz Sr. of Orlando, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Audrey Rosen of Palm Coast, Fla., and Jamie Lewis of Harrisburg; one sister, Doris Mateer of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Neill Funeral Home, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Lower Paxton.
Visitation will be at the funeral home today from noon to 2 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimers Foundation, South Central Pennsylvania Chapter, 1013 Mumma Road, Lemoyne, PA 17023.
Charles A. Tasker
BROWNSVILLE, Pa. - Charles A. Born May 7, 1937, in Brownsville, he was the son of Martha Brown Tasker of Brownsville and the late Edgar A. Tasker.
He had been employed by Mount Cydonia Sand Co. in Fayetteville, Pa. He was retired.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jones Tasker of Harrisburg, Pa.; four daughters, Kimberly Cabral and Kathy Johnson, both of Jacksonville, N.C., Karol Tasker and Karen Tasker, both of Harrisburg; three sons, Joel A. Tasker, Jerry Tasker and Kurt Tasker, all of Harrisburg; six sisters, Shirley Sistrunk, Linda Tasker and Judith Camel, all of Gettysburg, Pa., Dolly Keyes of Brownsville, Mary Demps of Gardners, Pa., and Katherine Johnson of Biglerville, Pa.; three brothers, William E. Tasker of Fresno, Calif., Gerald Tasker of Brownsville and Michael Tasker of Hanover, Pa.; and 23 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Victor Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Brownsville Church of God Cemetery, Fayetteville.
Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday one hour prior to the service.

Larry L. Picking
ST. THOMAS, Pa. - Larry L. He retired as a motor vehicle operator from Letterkenny Army Depot in 1996.
He was a Vietnam War veteran.
He was of the Protestant faith.
He was a member of Chambersburg AMVETS; Chambersburg Moose and Chambersburg American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Goodyear-Picking; a son, Christopher Picking of Virginia Beach, Va.; four stepdaughters, Christina Goodyear, Lisa Goodyear and Amy Brechbill, all of Chambersburg, Pa., and Denise Mullen of Newville, Pa.; four sisters, Donna Beltz of Maytown, Pa., Judy Helman of Waynesboro, Pa., Brenda Wallech and Kim Gordon, both of Greencastle; and four brothers, Ken Picking and Roger Picking, both of Chambersburg, Steve Picking of Mercersburg, Pa., and Mike Picking of Waynesboro.

Willard G. Houck
McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Willard G. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachael Jones Houck.
He was a carpenter.
He served during World War II in the U.S. Army.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Blosser of Hustontown, Pa.; a son, Steven Houck of Japan; four sisters, Esther Atchley of Skillman, N.J., Cleo Atchley of Belle Mead, N.J., Betty Miller and Olive McQuait, both of McConnellsburg; two brothers, Harold Houck of Mapleton, Pa., and Jack Houck of Mercersburg, Pa.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Pa.
Evelyn M. Pine
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Evelyn M. Pine, Paul D. Pine, Larry J. Pine, G. Randy Pine and Richard T. Pine, all of Mercersburg, Merle F. Pine of Toledo, Ohio, and Gregory L. Pine Sr. of Shade Gap, Pa.; three sisters, Hazel Unger of Waynesboro, Pa., Mabel Suffecool of Little Cove, Pa., and Ruth Weaver of Hancock; 35 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, one son, two grandchildren, one sister and five brothers.
Services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Mount Tabor Brethren in Christ Church, 12283 Punch Bowl Road, Mercersburg. The Rev. Roy E. Brake Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mercersburg.
A viewing will be held at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church.
