CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Jess Arden Leidig Jr., 74, of 31 Field Circle, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Nov. 26, 1998, at his home.
Born Feb. 7, 1924, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Jesse A. Leidig and Mable Kelso Leidig Thompson.
He was a 1941 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was a supervisor of the former J. Schoeneman in Chambersburg, retiring in 1989 after 43 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He attended 15 weeks of aircraft technical school at Seymore-Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.
He was a life member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Chambersburg, where he was the past secretary of the Sunday School for many years. He was a member of the commission on education and had served on the administrative board.
He was a 50-year member of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM in Chambersburg; served as representative to the Pennsylvania Youth Foundation and served as chairman and chapter adviser to George Washington Chapter, DeMolay, Chambersburg; a member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Valley Forest 145, Shippensburg, Pa.; Zembo Temple, Harrisburg, Pa.; Harrisburg Consistory, Harrisburg, Pa.; George Washington Royal Arch Chapter 176, Chambersburg; George Washington Council 56, Chambersburg; Continental Commandry 56, Chambersburg; a member and past governor Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 842, Chambersburg; member and past president of Friendship E & H Fire Company, Chambersburg; a life member of Fireman's Relief Association, Chambersburg; a member and past president of Norland Chapter 3261 AARP, Chambersburg; and a member of Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Chambersburg.
He is survived by his wife, Donna M. Hull Leidig, whom he married
in June 1962; and a son, Jess A. Leidig III at home.
He was preceded in death by four sisters.
Services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. A. Robert Cook and the Rev. Guy Baer will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg. Masonic service will be conducted by members of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM prior to the services.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund, 750 Norland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Guy M. Stine
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Guy M. "Key Hole" Stine, 77, formerly of Greencastle and who had resided with his care giver, Diane Reynolds of 54 W. Born Oct. 26, 1921, in Montgomery Township, Pa., he was the son of the late John H. and Bessie Angle Stine.
He attended Open Door Church in Chambersburg.
He is survived by a brother, Max Stine of Greencastle; 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister; and two brothers.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Arthur Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Alberta V. Doyle
DOVER, Pa. - Alberta V. Doyle, 79, of 54 Chipawa Ave., and formerly of McConnellsburg, Pa., and Everett, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Nov, 21, 1998, at her daughter's home, 1876 Crocus Lane, York, Pa.
Born Aug. 19, 1919, in Packwood, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Calvin E. and Mabel V. Mellott Long.
Her husband, John A. Doyle, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1967.
She worked in food preparation at Wilson College, as a clerk at Sunnyway, and as a machine operator at the Pfaltzgraf factory in Dover.
She attended Pennwood Bible Church in Everett.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Ann Thomas of Mercersburg, Pa., and Charlotte T. Poet of York; three sons, Alvin P. Doyle of Everett, Elwood V. Doyle of Dover, with whom she resided, and Kenny E. Doyle of McConnellsburg; one sister, Arlene Meck of St. Thomas, Pa.; five brothers, Lester Long and Harry Long, both of Mount Joy, Pa., Oscar Long of McConnellsburg, Stanley Long of St. Thomas, and Roy Long of Warfordsburg, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger L. Doyle; and three grandchildren.
Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home Inc. in McConnellsburg. Pastor Floyd Reinhart will officiate. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in McConnellsburg.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. For the convenience of friends, the funeral home will be open from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
William C. Woods
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - William C. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 201 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stuart A. Troutman will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Visitation will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, Thursday from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
Lawrence R. Shindledecker
BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. - Lawrence R. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha Shindledecker, in 1962.
He attended Monterey School.
He was employed by I.S.P. Co., Blue Ridge Summit, retiring in the mid-70s. He then worked as a groundskeeper for Mrs. Leah Hollengreen, Waynesboro.
He was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Fountaindale.
He was a member of Blue Ridge Summit Volunteer Fire Co.; Fountaindale Volunteer Fire Department; and Adams County Volunteer Firemen's Association. He was a volunteer fire warden in Adams County and the Michaux State Forest area.
He is survived by a foster daughter, Charlotte "Pat " Shuyler of Blue Ridge Summit; his companion, Rosetta M. Lawyer of Blue Ridge Summit; two sisters, Margaret I. Weyhrich of Randolph, Neb., and Lillian R. Shulley of Blue Ridge Summit; his twin brother, Charles L. Shindledecker of Fairfield; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Fissel and Mary E. Henry; and six brothers, Earl W. Shindledecker, Albert F. Shindledecker, John L. Shindledecker, Walter L. Shindledecker, Maurice E. Shindledecker and George J. Shindledecker.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Eugene M. Cline will officiate. Burial will be in Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Adams County, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
