QUINCY, Pa. - Anna B. Shank, 83, a resident of Quincy United Methodist Home, and formerly of 14393 Walnut Loop, Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at the nursing home.
Born Aug. 17, 1915, in Shady Grove, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clyde W. and Henrietta Wilkinson Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle E. "Joe" Shank, in 1988.
She was a homemaker. Earlier, she had worked at GEM Garment Factory of Greencastle; and Stanley Co. of Chambersburg, Pa.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church of Greencastle.
She was a founding member of Shady Grove Women's Club.
She is survived by two daughters, Martha S. McCleary of Greencastle and Bonita J. Shank of Greencastle; a son, James E. Shank of Waynesboro; a brother, Robert W. Smith of Waynesboro; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters; three brothers; and a grandson.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Alan Wilson and the Rev. Donald Bohn will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Phyllis I. Eckert
WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Phyllis I. King Eckart, 78, of 423 S. Potomac St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 1998, at Washington County Hospital, of injuries suffered in a car accident near Hagerstown.
Born Oct. 30, 1920, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George H. and Ruth H. Whitlock King.
She was a 1938 graduate of Waynesboro High School.
She was employed at Corning Glass, Greencastle, for a short time.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, Waynesboro.
She was a member of Legion of Mary; and National AARP. She and her husband volunteered to deliver Meals-on-Wheels.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Woodrow W. "Woodie" Eckert; three daughters, Mary L. Moatz and Ruth I. Flood, both of Waynesboro, and Ann M. Kauffman of Fayetteville, Pa.; a son, George K. Eckert of Charles Town, W.Va.; two sisters, Doris Tate of Gettysburg, Pa., and Helen Noel of Waynesboro; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Thomas J. Hemler will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Teddy R. Wile
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Teddy R. Wile, 60, of 528 Wile Circle, Fayetteville, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Aug. 17, 1938, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of the late John Lauren and Evelyn Rhea Taylor Wile.
He was employed as a refrigeration-air conditioning technician for York International, York for 30 years.
He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard.
He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of George Washington 143 Free and Accepted Masons Lodge, Chambersburg; and The Flying Club of Hagerstown.
He is survived by his stepmother, Margaret Wile of York, Pa.; his wife, Linda Kanner Wile of Fayetteville; a son, Douglas Alan Wile of Bartow, Fla.; two sisters, Peggy Lynn Ruth of York and Mary Ellen Haldeman of Long Beach, Calif.; a brother, Jay Anthony Wile of Sebring, Fla.; a granddaughter; nieces and nephews.
Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Lester Stine will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
Melissa J. Diehl
MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Melissa J. "Missy" Diehl, 19, of Mercersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Dec. 18, 1998, at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Pa. of complications from childbirth.
Born July 20, 1979, in Chambersburg, Pa., she was the daughter and stepdaughter of Larry A. and Debbie S. Diehl of Shippensburg, Pa. and the daughter of the late Gale Heckman Diehl.
She was a 1998 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School.
She was employed by McDonalds in Mercersburg.
She had attended church at both Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg and Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
She was a participant and volunteer in the Special Olympics program.
In addition to her father and stepmother, she is survived by a daughter, Kaitlynn A. Diehl, who is currently a patient at Hershey Medical Center; her companion, Joshua Toporzycki of Mercersburg; a stepbrother, Michael M. Morrow of Shippensburg; paternal grandmother, Pauline E. Diehl of Chambersburg; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Anne Conrad of Fayetteville, Pa.; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Mongul United Brethren Church, Shippensburg. The Rev. Neal O. Hively and the Rev. Richard J. Fischl will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Greene Township, Pa.
The viewing will be Monday one hour prior to the services at the church.

Virginia P. Anderson
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Virginia Pinchbeck Anderson, 81, of 212 Village Square and formerly of 19010 Cherry Tree Drive, Hagerstown and Matthew Court, Hagerstown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, Dec. 17, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Dec. 20, 1916, in Amelia County, Va., she was the daughter of the late William Thomas and Mary Walthall Pinchbeck.
She attended Westhampton College of the University of Richmond, Va.; and also Hagerstown Community College.
She later actively supported her husbands ministries.
She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School.
She was the director of Women's Missionary Union; director of Vacation Bible School; and a member of Church Women United of Washington County, where she served as president and received the valiant women's award. She was the first female moderator of the Montgomery Baptist Association; the first woman vice president of the Baptist Convention of Maryland; and the first woman nominated to be president. She was a member of the State Mission Board; and a member of Southern Baptist Convention Committee. She was author of Mountain View published by Broadman Press. She was a 20 year volunteer with Meals-on-Wheels.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Cecil C. Anderson; a daughter, Karen A. Ingram of Maugansville; a son, Tom H. Anderson of Urbana, Ill.; a sister, Ora P. Toms of Charlottesville, Va.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby P. Thompson; and two brothers, Kenton Pinchbeck and Raymond Pinchbeck.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at Paramount Baptist Church, 13234 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown. The Rev. Larry Rickard will officiate.
The family will receive friends immediately following the memorial service in Anderson Hall at the church.
