Born Nov. 3, 1927, in Stoufferstown, Pa., he was the son of the late Crawford F. and Sarah Peters Kramer.
He was a 1947 graduate of Chambersburg High School.
He was employed at Scotland School for Veterans Children, Scotland, Pa., as a maintenance repairman, retiring in 1989 after 25 years.
He was a member of Solomons Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
He was a member of Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Company and served as fire chief, life member of Franklin Fire Company, Chambersburg, and Cumberland Valley Fireman's Association.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Martin Kramer, whom he married
Aug. 6, 1965; one brother, Donald E. Kramer of Fayetteville; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Michael E. Allwein will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dale L. Martin
GREENCASTLE, Pa. - Dale L. Martin, 41, of 12264 Malissa Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, at Waynesboro Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1957, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of J. Earl Martin of State Line, Pa., and the late Ruth Landis Martin.
He was a 1975 graduate of Greencastle-Antrim Area Senior High School.
He was employed with Phoenix Color Corp. in Hagerstown. He had previously worked at J. & M. Printing in Waynesboro, Pa.
He was a member of Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church near Mercersburg, Pa., where he was vice president of the Christian Workers Sunday School Class and president of the Men's Fellowship Committee. He was a former member of the church board and Sunday school board and served on the church's Vacation Bible School program and Good News Club.
He served on the kitchen committee at Roxbury Holiness Camp in Roxbury, Pa. He was a member of Promise Keepers and Greencastle Sportsman Association.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Pamela J. Myers Martin; two daughters, Tracy L. Martin and Heather M. Martin, both at home; three sisters, Joanne M. Johnson of Fort Loudon, Pa. and Linda K. Peiffer and Carol A. Mummert, both of Greencastle; one brother, Wayne E. Martin of Chambersburg; his stepmother, Louise Myers Martin of State Line; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Shaynia Martin, in 1980; and a brother, Larry E. Martin, in 1993.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Montgomery Brethren in Christ Church, 6727 Montgomery Church Road, Mercersburg. The Rev. Dennis Ritchey, the Rev. Curtis Bryant and the Rev. Gayle Ruble Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Margaret B. Carbaugh
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Margaret B. "Peggy" Carbaugh, 64, of 315 W. King St., and formerly of 850 Hillcrest Ave., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Dec. 20, 1998, in her home following an extended illness.
Born May 15, 1934, in Greencastle, Pa., she was the daughter of the late James H. and Martha A. Metcalfe Carpenter.
She last worked as a nurses aide at Caledonia Manor in Fayetteville, Pa. She also had worked at Knouse Foods in Chambersburg.
She was of the Baptist faith.
She was a member of the TGIF Bowling League at Nellie Fox Bowl, Chambersburg.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Paul S. Carbaugh; two daughters, Pauline K. Filion and Mary A. Carpenter both of Chambersburg; one son, Thomas H. Carbaugh of Chambersburg; two sisters, Dorothy E. Funkhouser of Hagerstown and Jean M. Humelsine of Little Orleans, Md.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle. The Rev. Henry D. Barthalow and the Rev. Marvin R. Bard will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Thursday.
Blaine W. Kauffman Sr.
FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. - Blaine W. Kauffman Sr., 91, a resident of Piney Mountain, and formerly of 11927 Loop Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Dec. 21, 1998, in the nursing home.
Born Jan. 22, 1907, in Hamilton-Ban Township, Adams County, he was the son of the late Marie Wagaman.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Marguerite B. McCarney Kauffman in 1998.
He was a retired forest ranger at the Bureau of Forestry in the Old Forge area, retiring in 1973 after 10 years of service. He was also employed at Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, Pa., for 20 years.
He was a member of Forest Fire Warrens of Pennsylvania for 65 years.
He is survived by five daughters, Phyllis K. Slike and Lois L. Thomas, both of Fayetteville, Sally A. Mumma and Nancy M. Valentine both of Waynesboro, and Susie B. Mealor of Gainsville, Ga.; four sons, Blaine William Kauffman Jr., of Houston, Jackie C. Kauffman, John L. Kauffman and James T. Kauffman all of Fayetteville; one sister, Martina Reheard of Fayetteville; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Irvin Kauffman and one grandson.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Chaplain Keith M. Sider and the Rev. Donald L. Bender will officiate. Burial will be in the Strang's Cemetery, South Mountain.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
There will be no public viewing.

Betty J. Peffer

Born March 29, 1933, in Aspers, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Roy H. and Margaret L. Michael Unger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude R. Peffer Sr., in 1984. They were married
in October 1952.
She was a 1951 graduate of Biglerville High School. She then received an associate degree in dietary services from Hagerstown Junior College, Hagerstown.
She was employed as a dietary supervisor at Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown for 32 years, retiring in November 1998.
She was a member of National AARP.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane E. Rowe of Waynesboro, Lori A. Zimmerman of Quincy, Pa. and Jennifer R. Schaffer of Greencastle, Pa.; a son, Claude R. Peffer Jr. of Tallahassee, Fla.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Bender of Shippensburg, Pa., Julia Bender of Newburg, Pa. and Patricia McDonald of Orrtanna, Pa.; four brothers, Leroy Unger of Orrtanna, Roger Unger of Biglerville, Pa., Marshall Unger of Citronelle, Ala. and James Unger of Ridge Crest, Calif.; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Unger; and a brother, John Unger.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. C. Albert Guyer will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, Pa.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
