Survived by wife, Michelle (Grover) Burkhardt; daughter, Savannah; stepsons, Jakob and Christian; parents, Paul and Diane Burkhardt; brothers, Michael and Brian Burkhardt; and sisters, Irene Walker and Judy Steele; mother-in-law, Helen (Gary) Roberts; father-in-law, Butch (Sandy) Grover; and grandmother, Irene Felix. He was a graduate of United High School. Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Armagh United Methodist Church.

He was born May 16, 1923, in Puritan, son of the late William M. and Marjorie (Baker) Chappell. He married
Mary E. Baker May 14, 1947, in St. Clairsville. He was employed as a coal miner for 24 years and then worked at Blue Knob Ski Resort for 18 years, retiring in 1980. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a life member of the VFW Post 9219, Pleasantville. He enjoyed hunting, farming and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife; a son, William M. Chappell; and a daughter, Darlene L. Dibert, all of Claysburg R.D.; a sister, Miriam Claar of East Freedom; a brother, Clair Chappell of Portage R.D.; four grandchildren: William Dibert Jr., Lorie L. Dibert, Jennifer J. Gaston and William M. Chappell IV, who was raised in the home. He was preceded in death by a son, Harry E. Chappell; two brothers, Harry and John Chappell; and a sister, Florence Benton. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor John D. Leatherman officiating. Interment at Imler Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Windber Hospice.

Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. World War II Navy veteran. Worked for Gamble and Gamble Construction, Bolivar, and JC Orr Construction, Altoona, for 40 years, and retired in 1989. Bucky loved his Lord and family. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, golf, hunting and fishing. Member of the Ashville VFW Post 4315 and Laurel Run Sportsmen, Dysart. Third Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Prince Demetrius Council 9622, who will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Friday. Also member of Altar Rosary and St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Rev. George M. Gulash, celebrant. Entombment, Calvary Mausoleum, Altoona. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held Friday afternoon. Richard was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Gemologist School of New York. He was an avid hunter and a Vietnam veteran. Former owner of Hagan Jewelers. Horner Jr., Johnstown; Dyana Horner, and fiance, Patrick Gula, Pittsburgh; Dana Horner, Johnstown; and Travis Gorzelsky, Pittsburgh; and grandson-to-be, Ryan Gula. Brother of Carol Shaffer, Johnstown. Also survived by brothers- and sisters-in-law, Vivian Makin, Johnstown; Sandra and Jon Heltzel, Johnstown; Albert Minnick, and wife, Johnnie, of Logan, W.Va. Member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Johnstown Free Masons #538 and PennDOT 25-Year Club. Ron enjoyed camping in Donegal and will be missed by friends all over Pennsylvania. Veteran of the Vietnam War. Retired materials engineer from the Department of Transportation. After retirement for the state, he worked for Pete Chiodo at Inspection Engineers. Friends received from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the William T. Hindman Funeral Home, Chandler Avenue, where services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, the Rev. Hans Peter Helmers. SATKOVICH - Richard A., 70, Cairnbrook, lost his 15-year- long battle with cancer on June 5, 2006. Born Sept. 8, 1935, in Cairnbrook, the son of John Sr. and Angela (Sevsek) Satkovich. Preceded in death by parents; and these brothers and sisters: John Jr., Joseph Sr., Mary Kaniuk, Elsie Czander, Anthony, Edward and Robert; and five infant siblings. Survived by brother, Eugene "Sonny"; fiancee, Marian Lenart-Epping; and a number of loving nieces and nephews. A U.S. Air Force veteran. Retired ConRail employee. Member of SNPJ, Central City American Legion and VFW posts. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mulcahy Funeral Home. He is survived by two aunts, Donna Peer, Aliquippa, with whom he lived, and Barbara Peer, Coraopolis; his paternal grandmother, Rhea S. Kimmel, Apopka, Fla.; and an uncle, Philip W. Kimmel. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, David N. Kimmel; his uncle, Richard S. Kimmel; and his maternal grandmother, Elsie H. Peer.
