Oct. 8, 1926, in Cresson, son of late Harold and Savilla (Sellers) Boland. He was first married
to Bernese F. Coons and she preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 1975. He is survived by his second wife, former Rose (Yannie) Falconi, whom he married
June 11, 1977, in Cumberland, Md. Also surviving are daughter, Susan J., wife of Wayne Orchard, and son, David J. Boland, all of Montclair, Va.; stepdaughter, Teresa, wife of Tim Szabo, Woodbridge, Va.; stepson, Joseph Falconi III, married
to former Kathleen Haggerty, Kensington, Md.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren Also surviving are four sisters, Virginia Bradley, San Diego, Calif.; Elizabeth, wife of Thomas Link, Ebensburg; Miriam, wife of Dale Bartlebaugh, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Mary Ellen, wife of Jack Kelly, Bath; two brothers, Clifton Boland, and wife Joyce, Ebensburg, and Gerald Boland, and wife Judy, Cresson. Along with his first wife he was preceded in death by brother, Robert, and sister, Donna Marie DeLozier. Mr. Boland was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and a member of the adult choir and a former usher. He was a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 1439, third degree, and a charter member of Thomas Heyden 2529 Assembly, fourth degree. He was a 1944 graduate of former Cresson High School and a graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics, receiving an aircraft and engine machine license. He earned a commercial single engine land flying license at Cresson Airport. He was employed for a number of years by Cresson Airport and the balance of his working years he was involved with the plumbing and heating industry. He retired from Burnham Corp., Lancaster. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Bedford, with Father Donald Dusza, celebrant. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Cumberland. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, Bedford, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 8 p.m.

For friends and family, a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Westmont Church of the Brethren, 2301 Sunshine Ave. A private committal service will be held at the Grandview Mausoleum. Jr., Chambersburg; James (Connie), Johnstown; Judy Laverick (Jim), Ebensburg; Nancy Vaughn (Jeff), Altoona; Susan Perehinec (Mike), Altoona; Joseph (Renee), Cresson; and Mary Beth, Pittsburgh; also 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Laino, Cresson; Florence Mack, Pittsburgh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society, CD of A and Senior Citizens, all of Cresson. DISHONG - Irvin
DISHONG - Irvin Blair, 82, passed away in Corvallis, Ore., on Oct. 30, 2004, from complications of pneumonia. Blair was born
in Johnstown, Pa., on May 18, 1922, to Henry and Cora Mabel Dishong. He lived at the family home in Tanneryville until September 2000, when his family moved him to Corvallis. He retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. He was a member of Albright United Methodist Church. He served his country in the Army during World War II and had been a member of the American Legion and 40 et 8. Blair was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Susie Dishong; and brother, Robert Dishong. He is survived by brother, the Rev. Donald (Lois) Dishong of Corvallis, Ore., nieces, Delores Dishong of Salem, Ore., and Kathryn (Santford) Ramsey of Sun City, Ariz. Also great-nieces, nephew and many friends. Funeral service and burial were held on Nov. 2, 2004, in Corvallis, Ore. Donations may be sent to Albright United Methodist Church in Johnstown.
