Survived by son, David, married to former Ruth Gindlesperger, Jennerstown; grandchildren, Thomas and Tyler Carroll; sister, Ada "Sis" Rhodes, Ligonier; stepdaughter, Gloria (Sheftic), married to Dan Decker, Pultneyville, N.Y., and their children, Dr. Jill Ogden, Elizabeth Schwartz and Noah Decker. U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Retired lab technician with former Gibson Electric, Delmont, Pa. Past employee of former B--W Hardware, Boswell. Member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Boswell, and the American Legion. Enjoyed watching football and Jeopardy on television. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hoffman Funeral Home -- Cremation Services, 227 Allegheny St., Boswell, where service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Gary W. CLARK - James Edward

The son of James F. and Elizabeth (Buterbaugh) Clark, he was Born Aug. 19, 1944, in Garmantown, Pa. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection, where he attended the Glen Campbell church site. Mr. Clark was a graduate of Harmony High School Class of 1962. In more recent years, Mr. Clark had been employed as an inspector with Erdman Anthony Consulting. He had worked as a sewing machine mechanic at Carol Ann in Hastings and at Safetybak in Altoona. He had also previously worked at the shirt factory in Barnesboro and the shoe factory in Hastings. Mr. Clark liked to go hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed farming and doing woodworking projects. He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, Westover; his loving companion, Mary Jane Mattis, Arcadia; his children, Brenda L. Coble, and husband, Jeff, Woodbridge, Va., and James E. Clark Jr., Armagh; seven grandchildren; his sister, JoAnn Dudash, and husband, Joseph, St. Mary's; brother, Donald K. Clark, and wife, Ruth, Westover; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his father on May 26, 1996. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd., Hillsdale. A 10 a.m. funeral Mass will be held Saturday at the Church of the Resurrection in Glen Campbell, with the Rev. Father Paul Lisik officiating. Interment will follow in the parish Cemetery in Glen Campbell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Church of the Resurrection, 349 Morris St., Clymer, Pa. 15728.

FABIAN - Mrs. Catherine F. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Stephen; sisters, Esther Hirth and Rose Chambers; brothers, Michael and John; and grandson Robert Kozak. Survived by daughters, Frances, wife of the late David Reynolds, Pittsburgh; Betty, wife of the late Tom Kozak, Cleveland; and Joyce, wife of Michael Muscatello, Windber. Sister of Ann Nekola and Mary Celeski, both of Dearborn, Mich., also numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Catherine lived at the Church of the Brethren Home, Windber, where she was an active resident. She loved baking and cooking for her friends and family and enjoyed the company of others. At Easter, she decorated Ukrainian Easter eggs. Member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Windber, where funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Saturday, TOR Franciscans. Committal church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, where a brief service will be held for the deceased. Michael, killed in action during WWII; Joseph, John, Henry and Edward Blucas. Survived by children, Walter J. “Wally,” Girard, Pa.; Stephen P., married to former Johnette Pullig, Ruston, La.; Marilyn, married to Gary Tempalski, Pittsburgh; and Barbara A., married to Roy Motley, Johnstown; grandchildren, Kristen and Marc Blucas, Phillip and Melanie Blucas, Ryan Tempalski, and Caitlin and Abby Motley; sisters, Mary, married to Mike Cook, Howe, Mich., and Stella Bauerle, Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Ted, Levittown; and numerous nieces and nephews. U.S. Marine Corps veteran of WWII, having served in the Pacific Theater of Operations, where he participated in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish and the UMWA. Longest continuous member of the Boswell Post 461 American Legion, with 61 years of membership. Retired coal miner for Island Creek Coal Co. with 33 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, collecting coins and playing cards, especially pinochle with family and friends at social gatherings. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 409 Main St., Boswell, where vigil for the deceased will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Friday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Fr. Michael Lewandowski, OFM Conv., celebrant. Committal, SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Jerome, with graveside military rites. KINLEY – James E., 76, Johnstown, passed away Sept. 2, 2007, at home. Born April 12, 1931, in Johnstown, son of the late Joseph F. and Helena G. (Bender) Kinley. Preceded in death by brothers, J. Paul and Francis E. Survived by wife of 47 years, the former Barbara Fern Irvin; beloved children and grandchildren, Kathy, married to Chris Kantner, and their children, Sara and Alex; Tom, and children, Ben, Ryan and Michael; Mike, married to Liz Stein, and their children, Laura and Emily; Anne, married to Don Zolnosky, and their children, Matthew, Megan and Nathan. Brother of Lois Gaunt of Johnstown and Mary K. Iddings of Danville, Va., and numerous nieces and nephews. Member of Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church. A 1950 graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School, he attended University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. Served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. Jim retired from Prudential Insurance Co. with 23 years of service. Friends received from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., where a vigil service will be held Tuesday evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church, Monsignor Timothy Stein, celebrant. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum. Military rites will be conducted by Conemaugh Valley Detachment Marine Corps League.
KYLER – Bern Jepson
KYLER – Bern Jepson, 79, Ebensburg, formerly of Rochester, N.Y., passed away Sept. 2, 2007. Preceded in death by wife, Dorothy (West), and son, Dennis. Survived and sadly missed by his sons, Gary (Beth) and Bern L. (Beth), and daughters, Nancy Smith and Cherene McShane (fiance, Peter); brother, Neil; and sister, Donna Shovestull; aunts, Marie and Shirley; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. He was self-employed as a machinist for most of his life. He enjoyed flying his airplane and owning and racing his race cars. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at his fish pond. There will be no viewing and interment will be at the convenience of the family.
