MONYAK – John Mark, 68, a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home and formerly of Jackson Township, passed away Sept. 1, 2007, at the Altoona Regional Health System, Bon Secour Campus. Born Oct. 29, 1938, in Nanty Glo, son of the late John and Irene (Matejovich) Monyak. Survived by his sister, Dorothy Dugan of Ebensburg, and several nephews. John had been employed in the maintenance department at Jackson Township. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam era and recipient of the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Rifle Mortar. He had also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Nanty Glo, the Rev. Father Paul Robine officiating. Arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg.

Survived by wife of 66 years, Doris (Jones) Schermerhorn; son, Richard Schermerhorn, and wife, Linda, Triangle, Va.; daughter, Louise Hawkins, and husband, David, Richfield, Wash.; grandchildren, Dawn Newcomb, Kristian Schermerhorn, Molly and Brett Hawkins and Steven Burdette; and four great-grandchildren. Private visitation and service. Family assisted by Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence.

She was the wife of the late Dr. Edwin W. Lauterbach. She was Born in Seanor, Pa., on Feb. 23, 1922, to the late Merril and Genevieve (Feldbaur) Holsopple. Mrs. Lauterbach was a former registered nurse specializing in anesthesia, working for multiple hospitals in the Philadelphia area for over 25 years. She was a graduate of Women's Homeopathic School and Jefferson University Nursing School and Anesthesia School. She was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in the Nurse Corps. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Abington; Philadelphia Horticultural Society; and Women's Homeopathic Alumni Association. Was a 45-year member of Manufacturer's Golf and Country Club and a member of Ironwood Country Club in Palm Desert, Calif. She is survived by her son, Richard E. Lauterbach, Girdwood, Ark., three sisters Twila Whittier, Arizona; Carolyn Miller, Meadeville, Pa.; Joyce McGinnis, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was predeceased by two brothers, Ernest and Brian Holsopple. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2007, at the Abington Presbyterian Church, 1082 Old York Road at Susquehanna Road, Abington, Pa. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be private at Laudon Park Cemetery, Baltimore, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name to Abington Memorial Hospital, Nursing Scholarship Fund, Attn: Fund Development Office, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, Pa. 19001 are appreciated. Survived by children: Jeffrey, Strongstown; Brenda Hale (Gary), Windber; Bernard, Nanty Glo; David (Tonya), Ebensburg; Dina Woodlin (Curtis), Johnstown; 12 grandchildren; brother, Neal (Florence), Richland; and sister, Twila Sirko (Paul), Lorain. Member of Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Retired nurse's aide from Ebensburg Center. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral service will be held Saturday at Nanty Glo United Methodist Church. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery, Mundys Corner. SEIFERT - Edward Francis
SEIFERT - Edward Francis, our strong and caring father, passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City N.Y. at 10 a.m. July 11 after a short illness. Edward is the son of Mildred (Trautman) Seifert and Francis Seifert, formerly of Kraft Street, Johnstown. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 57 years, Charity P. (Dunham) Seifert, in 2005. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard. Edward was an Eagle Scout and served as a Scoutmaster for a number of years for Boy Scouts of America in Union Center, N.Y. He was an active member of the Binghamton Bicycle Club and was retired from a long career at IBM. In the last several years, he donated his time to AARP by teaching defensive driving courses. He is predeceased by his parents, Francis and Mildred Seifert of Johnstown, and his sister, Vivian. He is survived by his five children, Randolph Seifert, Richard Seifert, Robin Walker, Rayne Butler and Russell Seifert, as well as 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3505 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal N.Y. 13850. All are welcome. Born in Philipsburg, son of the late Frederick Harold and Rubye Gwendolyn (Ammerman) Herman. Survived by wife, Diane Blanset Herman; brother, Fred H. Herman, and wife, Barbara, of Philipsburg; son, Jeffrey C. Herman, and wife, Kim, of Grass Valley, Calif.; and granddaughters, Brook Ashley Herman and Heather Joy Herman, both of Grass Valley. Also survived by cousin, Joyce Anderson, of Clearfield. A 1948 graduate of the Philipsburg High School. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, 1951 to 1953. His career with the Pennsylvania Electric Co. began in 1954 in Philipsburg, and concluded after 36 years in 1990 as safety/OSHA and health manager for the Generating Division, Johnstown. Following retirement, Bob and Diane traveled and focused on gardening. Bob was a recognized grower of dahlias, which he shared with many people. A 50-year member of Moshannon Lodge 391, F--AM, of Philipsburg. Also a 50-year member of Valley of Williamsport Consistory, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite. Member of Jaffa Shrine AAONMS. Life member of Elks BPOE and Hope Fire Company, Philipsburg. Viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at John Henderson Co. Funeral Home, 215 Central Ave., Johnstown, where service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, with pastor Charles Shaffer and the Rev. Don Sease. Entombment will be held at the convenience of the family at Richland Mausoleum. Donations may be made to Beulah United Methodist Church youth programs, 716 Bedford St., Johnstown, Pa. 15902.

KRISE - Mr. Robert T.

He was Born Dec. 4, 1926, in Fallentimber, a son of the late John C. and Estella C. (Hartley) Krise. On Feb. 14, 1948, in Coalport, he married Bernice Glass, who survives along with four daughters, Karen S. (Bruce) Cutter of Columbia, Mo.; Cheryl J. (David) Hollen of Glasgow; Robin C. (Ronald) Milchak of Carrolltown; and Brenda K. (Ronald) Passanita of Fallentimber; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Hartley, and three sisters, Helen Beers, Hazel Beers and Ann. He served in the Army as a staff sergeant during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, hiking, reading and his dog, Katie. He retired in 1992 as a supervisor from L.S. Fiore in Altoona and had been a self-employed carpenter. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. Monday until time of service at 11 a.m. at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow, with Pastor Jon Hommer officiating. Interment in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.

REBER - Edward Todd "Ted"
REBER - Edward Todd "Ted," 39, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Patton, passed away Aug. 27, 2007, in Colorado Springs. Born June 5, 1968, in Bristol, Pa., son of Edward Lynn and Irene (Hudak) Reber. He is survived by his mother of Colver; father of Patton; brother, Randal Thomas, and sister-in-law, Karen, of North Yorkshire, England; niece, Brianna Katelyn Reber; paternal grandfather, Vincent Reber, of Nicktown R.D.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ted was a career man with the U.S. Army Reserve, having served in the Engineer's Battalion and attained the rank of E-6 Staff Sergeant. He had been stationed in Johnstown, Indiana and Colorado Springs, and had recently completed a tour of duty in Iraq. A graduate of Cambria Heights High School, he also had attended Cambria County Area Community College and Colorado Tech, as well as being a graduate of the Triangle Technical Institute. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he was a member of the Victory Motorcycle Club and Extramile Motorcycle Club. Also a member of Post 9669 American Legion in Colorado Springs. Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, the Rev. Roger Johnson officiating. Interment at Lloyd Cemetery. SISITKI - Rudy G. Sr.
SISITKI - Rudy G. He was Born Saturday, March 28, 1925, in Bolivar, a son of the late Andrew and Susan Beli Sisitki. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he had been employed as a coal miner for the former Consol Energy (R--P) for over 37 years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the Army Air Force. He attended Bolivar United Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Bolivar American Legion 128 and the New Florence Senior Citizens Center. In his spare time, he loved to hunt and was widely known as an outstanding dancer. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty James Sisitki; three daughters, Carol Sue Dodson (and her husband, Archie) and Donna "Mitzi" West (and her husband, David), all of Bolivar, and Paula Barriss (and her husband, Dean) of Blairsville; six sons, Rudolph G. Jr. (and his wife, Linda) of New Florence, William K. (and his wife, Kim) of Bolivar, Gary R. (and his wife, April) of Latrobe, Arthur W. (and his wife, Carol) of Bolivar, Bradley J. (and his wife, Denise) of Clinton, Utah, and Craig M. (and his wife, Jodi) of Robinson; 19 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Julie Nessen of New York, Annie Gintert of Colorado, Helen Yontz of Pennsylvania and Mary Friedel of Maryland. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Sisitki; two grandchildren, Jon and Bradley John Sisitki; two sisters, Sue Bernabo and Pauline Muir; and two brothers, Andrew and Joseph Sisitki. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the J. Paul McCracken Funeral Chapel Inc., 536 Market St., Bolivar, where a celebration of Rudy's life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor James Sunseri officiating. Interment, with full military honors, will follow in the Bolivar Westview Cemetery.

Brandon Barr and Erik Barr (fiance, Carrie Holland); stepgrandchildren, Eric Bennett and Christina Bennett-Fee (Brian); and brother, Lawrence Marlin (Donna), Akron, N.Y. World War II Army veteran where he was awarded the Meritorious Unit Award and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandpap and great-grandpap. He enjoyed spending time at the family farm, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Worked as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel Car Shops, Johnstown, for 40 years and retired in 1983. Member of NRA, AARP, Cresson American Legion, U.S. Steelworkers Union, Local 2635, Civil Liberties Union and Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg. At Bill's request there will be no viewing or visitation. Graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Michael's Cemetery, Loretto. Friends and family are welcome to attend. Arrangements in charge of Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville.
