Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. Private inurnment at the convenience of the family.

SEESE - Edith
SEESE - Edith Louise, 60, New Florence, left this world and went to join her parents with the Lord on Sept. 11, 2007, at Indiana Regional Medical Center. She was Born April 23, 1947, in Johnstown, the daughter of the late Robert W. and Elmira (Horner) Seese, formerly of New Florence. Her father retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown Plant, and her mother was an elementary school teacher in Bolivar. Survived by cousins, Nancy and Patsy, Mint Hill, N.C. She was a special friend and temporary mother to Nancy Saxman, who now resides in South Carolina. Edith graduated from Laurel Valley High School in 1965, and then worked for many years at Monarch Towels in the Morrellville section of Johnstown. She was the proud owner of a menagerie of animals. At one time she owned five dogs, three colorful parrots, four horses and a large assortment of cats. Member of First Church of Christ, Bolivar. At one time she was an active member of OES. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years in New Florence. Friends received from 1 until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, Elder Jeffrey Blankenbicker officiating. Private interment. Because of her unending love for all animals, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Action for Animals, P.O. Box 814, Latrobe, Pa. 15650.

Survived by loving wife of 63 years, Kathleen "Kate" (Daisley) Duriez; children, Kay, wife of Eugene Zanella; William, married to former Lynn Ann Shook; and Donald, married to former Pa-tricia "Pat" Glass, all of Northern Cambria; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Brother of Mildred Woods, Cherry Tree; Howard Duriez, Carrolltown; Lucille Davis, Altoona; and Ronald Duriez, Indiana. Retired coal miner and machine operator with PA Mines Corp. and Barnes -- Tucker Co. Owner of Duriez Coal and Excavating. World War II Army veteran and a member of American Legion Post 508 Barnesboro, VFW Post 7503 Spangler, Polish Legion, Civil Defense Club Special Police, Barnesboro Borough Councilman and mason. Bill was active in the local community and donated time and machinery to help build the Barnesboro Little League ball fields with other town volunteers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Moriconi Funeral Home Inc., Northern Cambria, where funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Pastor Ken Brown officiating. Survived by loving wife of 49 years, Eva "Peggy" (Douglas), South Fork, whom he married July 5, 1958; son, Terry, Summerhill; daughter, Tammy, wife of Douglas Eppley, Sidman; and these grandchildren, Andrew, and wife, Brittany; Jesse; Luke; Austin; Logan; and Elissa. Brother of Robert, and wife, Louise, South Fork; Kitty, and husband, Larry Wyatt, Haymarket, Va.; Mary Joyce Oswalt, Monroeville; Connie Jenkins, Summerhill; and Vickie, and husband, Greg Knavel, Pine Grove. Ray was a 1954 graduate of South Fork Croyle High School. He served with Company A of the 876th Engineer Battalion, Pennsylvania National Guard. He was a charter member and past president of Forest Hills Ambulance Association. Ray was a former member and past president of Home Builders Association of the Alleghenies, member of National Association of Trade and Technical Schools Accreditation Team, served on the Building Maintenance Occupational Advisory Committee at Hiram G. Andrews Center and was an instructor in the adult and post-secondary education programs at Greater Johnstown Area Vocational-Technical School. He was the owner/operator of Ray Fresch Jr. Construction Co. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, South Fork, and its Men's Bible Class and a past Lions Club member. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the Rev. Dr. Paul B. Morris. Interment at South Fork Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church Helping Hands Fund, 500 Maple Street, South Fork, Pa. 15956 and to the Home Nursing Agency Hospice at 118 Ebony Road, Suite 200, Ebensburg, Pa. 15931. Survived by parents; wife, Louise (Steele) Graham, Johnstown; and brothers, Arthur Graham, North Carolina, and Brian Graham, Johnstown. A U.S. Navy veteran. Former employee of Bestform Industries Johnstown Distribution Center. Employed by the HGA Lending Library, through the Center for Independent Living. GROVES - Warren Calvin King
GROVES - Warren Calvin King, 87, Dennett Road Manor Nursing Home, Oakland, Md., formerly of Swanton, Md., and Windber, went to be with our Lord on Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, after an extended illness. Born Aug. 9, 1920, in Deer Park, Md., he was a son of the late Martin Luther and Grace (Glotfelty) Groves. He was also preceded in death by his son, Warren E. Groves; daughter, Grace Louise Stone; by his beloved granddaughter, Heather Wooden; two brothers, Martin L. Groves Jr. and Gerald Groves; and by his sister, Virginia Ricketts. Mr. Groves was a Navy veteran of World War II, having served with honor in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters aboard the USS Blessman. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church at Meadow Mt. and was a member of the VFW Post 10077 of Deer Park, Md. He was a dragline operator for 50 years at various strip mines, the last being Cooney Brothers of Cresson. Surviving is his wife of 65 years, Olive (Reckner) Groves, and a daughter, Joyce Baker, both of Swanton, Md.; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Herbert H. Groves and Norman Scott Groves, both of Keyser, W.Va.; sister, Louella Garheart, Sykesville, Md.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Groves, Oakland; son-in-law, Gerald Stone, Windber; sister-in-law, Beulah Groves, Sykesville, Md.; grandson-in-law, Don Wooden, Sykesville; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the David A. Burdock Funeral Home, 21 N. Second St., Oakland, Md., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at North Glade Cemetery with military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorial donations to St. Johns Lutheran Church, c/o the Bittinger Lutheran Parish, 22 Maynardier Ridge Road, Bittinger, Md. 21522.

GRUSH - Luther L., 84, Windber, passed away Sept. 10, 2007, at Windber Medical Center. Born July 27, 1923, in Windber, son of Lemon and Minnie (Ott) Grush. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Lucille; sister, Ertie Varner; and brothers, Herman and Millard. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Former member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Windber. Presently a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Windber. Luther was a farmer for over 30 years. He was employed by Penn Traffic Co. and retired from Greater Johnstown Vo-Tech. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Thursday at Meek and Dalla Valle Funeral Home Inc., Windber, the Rev. David Letscher, officiating. Interment, Berkey Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 514 Shady Lane, Windber, Pa. 15963, in memory of Luther.
KING - Karen E.

Born Nov. 18, 1944, in Johnstown, daughter of the late Robert E. and Irma M. (Irwin) King. She is survived by brother, Dennis E., and wife, Rose; sister, Linda D., married to Paul Lambert, both of Johnstown; nieces, Deborah, married to James Hornick; Dawn, married to Walt Mitchell; Denise, married to Kenneth Tonkin; and Diedre Lambert; nephew, Paul Lambert Jr.; and great-nieces and nephews, Lori Beth Cook; Nichole, married to Buddy Dowell; Amanda, Samantha, and Nathan Mitchell; Morgan, Justin and Brady Tonkin; and Justin and Jeremy Hornick. Karen was a 1964 JHS graduate and worked as a dietary aide in the deli at Allegheny Lutheran Home, where she loved each and every resident and co-worker in her own special way. She was also employed as a cleaner at Grove Avenue United Methodist Church, of which she was also a member, and formerly employed at Cambria Motors and Bali Bra. She also had a special love for all of her various pets. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., West Hills, 921 Menoher Blvd., where service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, the Revs. Ed Schoeneck and Bob Parker officiating. Interment, Grandview Cemetery.
