Survived by wife of 57 years, the former Ruth Kimmel; children, Nancy of Palm Bay, Fla.; Joseph, married to the former Gail Redden, of Somerset; and James, married to the former Vicki Gohn of Stoystown; grandchildren, Joseph and Maria Jurgevich; stepgrandchildren, Robin Fish, Christie Corbett and Jerri Lee Wahdan; and six stepgreat-grandchildren. Brother of William of Bethel Park; Dorothy Martina of Cortland, Ohio; James of Turtle Creek; and Helen Pongrac of Grand Blanc, Mich. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville, and 55 Speeders. Life member of Robert P. Hite Post 257 American Legion, Stoystown, and Somerset VFW Post 554. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, the Rev. Karl Kolodziejski, OFM, Conv., and the Rev. Larry Weigle officiating. Interment, Somerset County Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to In Touch Hospice, 223 S. Pleasant Ave., Somerset, Pa. 15501. Legion service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

LEONARD - Myron Loy
LEONARD - Myron Loy, 86, went to be with his Lord on Feb. 6, 2006, at Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. Born June 26, 1919, in Nanty Glo, son of the late James and Sally (Kerr) Leonard. He was preceded in death by sisters, Lillian Commons and Rosanna Leatherman; brothers, Daniel and Robert; and son-in-law, Darrell Carney. Survived by wife, former Mary "Betty" Emerson, to whom he was married to for nearly 67 years; daughters, Sally (Robert) Albright, Mundys Corner, and Connie Carney, New Buffalo, Mich. Also survived by grandchildren, Terry Lynn Albright, Nanty Glo, and Brian (Sandy) Albright, Mundys Corner; Darrell (Lauren) Carney and David (Pam) Carney, both of Texas; Deborah (Brian) Russell, Michigan; and Dawna (Jason) Hinman, Indiana; and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Gertrude Helsel of Altoona. Member of Pike Grace Brethren Church, where he served many years as a deacon, church trustee, Cemetery trustee, Sunday school teacher and building committee member. Last surviving member of the original Jackson Township Water Authority, having served from 1956 to 1998. Formerly employed by the Heisley Coal Co. Retired from Johnstown Sanitary Dairy in 1978. World War II Army veteran, having served in Germany and Japan. Loy is now at home with his Lord and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Pastor Carl A. Schmidt Sr. officiating. Interment, Pike Brethren Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian -- Missionary Alliance Church in Nanty Glo or the Humane Society of Cambria County.

Survived by son, Woodrow M. of Dickerson Run, Pa.; grandsons, Stephen, Jeffrey and Sean Snyder. Sister of George of Mount Pleasant; Shirley Kerr, and friend, Bink, of Normalville; Aaron, and wife, Chae, of Tampa, Fla.; Donald, and wife, Tammy; Alva, and wife, Maryann; and Mary Schomer, all of Connellsville; Jimmy of Clarksville; Clarence and Connie Basinger, both of Connellsville. Also survived by daughter-in-law, Marjorie Snyder of Jerome; sisters-in-law, Billie Koontz of Vanderbilt; Luella Koontz of Alberton; Marie of Boswell; and Shirley Wiley of Waterford; and numerous nieces and nephews. A longtime member of Laurel Hill Gospel Tabernacle, near Jennerstown, where she taught Bible school and Sunday school. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and reading her Bible. Having been the oldest of 17 children, she was a great inspiration to the entire family. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoffman Funeral Home -- Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Gary W. STEELE - Glenn E. Sr.
STEELE - Glenn E. Sr., 81, Rockville Road, South Fork, went to be with the Lord Feb. 6, 2006, at home. Born Jan. 4, 1925, in South Fork, son of George and Minnie (Allenbaugh) Steele. Preceded in death by parents; brother, George Steele Jr.; grandson, Ray Schrader; great-grandson, Aron Miller; and great-granddaughter, Shiana Eicher. Survived by wife, Thelma (Glacken) Steele, South Fork; children, Dianne, wife of Raymond Schrader, South Fork; Glenn Jr., married to Cynthia (Mastaler), Portage; Susan, wife of Lynn Miller, Lilly; grandchildren, Karen Eicher, Jennifer Richards, Lynette Miller, Michael Steele and Christopher Miller; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Genevieve Leroux, Leesburg, Fla. Glenn was a member of First United Methodist Church, South Fork. He was a World War II veteran who served with the 101st Airborne Division during D-Day in the invasion of Normandy. He participated in Operation Market Garden in Holland and fought in Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge and he also served during the Korean War. He was awarded three Bronze Stars. Glenn was a former coal miner and retired from the IU08 in the maintenance department. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Thurdsday at First United Methodist Church, South Fork, the Rev. Dr. Paul B. Morris. Military memorial service by St. Michael American Legion Post 551. Arrangements by Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork.

SZUHAJ - Theodore "Shuhi" Sr.
SZUHAJ - Theodore "Shuhi" Sr., 93, Williamsport, Pa., formerly of Lilly, passed away Feb. 5, 2006, at Williamsport Nursing Home. Born Sept. 8, 1912, in South Fork, Pa. He was the son of the late Stephen and Fannie (Malischak) Szuhaj. Preceded in death by wife, Rose (Carmen) Szuhaj. Last survivor of immediate family. Loving and devoted father of Sylvia Reed, Sarasota, Fla.; Theodore "Ted" Szuhaj Jr., and wife, Linda (Clark), Williamsport; and Dr. Bernard Szuhaj, and wife, Carol (Brady), Fort Wayne, Ind. Also 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Ted was a member of Knights of Columbus 11084 Lilly. A service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday by the Knights. Lifetime member of Lilly Volunteer Fire Co., who will hold a brief service at 7:15 p.m. Thursday. Friends received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas F. Cloherty Funeral Home, Lilly, where vigil for the deceased will be held Thursday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Alleghenies Chapel, Portage Street, Lilly, the Rev. Monsignor John R. Sasway, VF, celebrant.
