LINESVILLE, Pa. - Kathryn Jean Brown, 64, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at home.
She was born May 13, 1938, in Meadville, Pa., the daughter of Thomas B. and Winifred (Houser) Brennan.
Mrs. Brown was a nurse's aide at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville, Pa., for 21 years before retiring.
She was a member of Springboro Church of the Nazarene.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her grandchildren, and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Roger L. Brown, whom she marriage July 26, 1966; five sons, Clyde Griffin of Marshall, Mich., Todd Griffin of Springboro, Pa., Burke Griffin of North Branch, Minn., Eric Brown of Linesville, Pa., and Ryan Brown of McEwen, Tenn.; two daughters, Nyla Bechtel of Conneautville, Pa., and Natalie Randall of Jamestown, Pa.; 18 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at Randall Funeral Home, Jamestown, Pa. The Rev. Dwight Stallard will officiate.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Randall Funeral Home, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, Pa.
Burial will be in Spring Cemetery, Springboro, Pa.
Marguerite I. Beagle
SAEGERTOWN, Pa. - Marguerite I. Beagle, 93, formerly of Linesville, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 1, 2001, at the Crawford County Care Center, Saegertown.
She was born May 27, 1908, in Buffalo, N.Y., the daughter of Harry and Cora Belle (Minnie) Smith Throckmorton.
She marriage Glen Beagle on Jan. 1, 1927, in New Martinsville, W.Va.
A member of Linesville First Baptist Church, she was active in church functions and taught children's Sunday School for many years. She also served as a counselor at Camp Judson, North Springfield, Pa.
Mrs. Beagle was a member of Crawford County Retired Senior Volunteer Program and enjoyed giving many hours of comfort to residents of local nursing homes. A life member of the Sunshine Club of Linesville, she enjoyed gardening, reading and needlework.
She was a homemaker and helped with the family farm, where she had many pets she cared for and loved.
Survivors include her daughter, Twila Joanne Starcheski of Cochranton, Pa.; three sons, Bernard and John of Linesville, Pa., and Glenn E., of Ashtabula; 12 grandchildren, Jim Starcheski, Glenda Waring, Debbie Blood, Patty Corey, Brenda McQuiston, Bernie Beagle, Larry Beagle, Brian Beagle, Rhonda Deets, Martin Beagle, Bob Beagle and Heather Beagle; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mary Ice and Bessie Fluharty; and four brothers, Harry, Roy, Harold and John Throckmorton.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harold W. Coleman Jr. Funeral Home, 6028 Route 6, Linesville, Pa., with the Rev. Tom Seiple of Linesville First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Judson, Holiday Road, North Springfield, Pa., 16430, or to Hospice of Crawford County, Inc., 448 Pine St., Meadville, Pa., 16335.
David A. Daley
COUDERSPORT, Pa. - David Alexander Daley, son of James R. and Heather L. (Woolensack) Daley of Roulett, Pa., was stillborn Friday, March 30, 2001, at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.
Survivors include his parents; one brother, Joshua James Daley; maternal grandparents, Delmer and Roberta Woolenstack of Gustavus; and paternal grandparents, John and Mary Daley of New Wilmington, Pa.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Kinsman Cemetery, Kinsman.
Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, is in charge of arrangements.
Orcutt R. Ward
SPARTANSBURG, Pa. - Orcutt R. Ward, 84, died Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Titusville Hospital in Titusville, Pa.
He was born March 23, 1917, in Wayne Township, the son of Orcutt R. Ward Sr. and Hazel (Dean) Sweet Ward.
Formerly of Wayne Township and Shreveport, La., Mr. Ward had lived in the Spartansburg area for the past several years. His family was among the earliest Wayne Township settlers coming to the area in 1805.
Mr. Ward was a 1935 graduate of Wayne High School. He was a tool and die maker and owned his own shop, Quality Machine Co. in Shreveport, for more than 40 years.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years most recently in Tidioute, Pa.
Mr. Ward played the guitar, mandolin and banjo and was a member of the Seven Maniacs group in Ashtabula County many years ago. He also played in the U.S. Navy Band and several Shriners groups. Mr. Ward was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Ward of Brooklyn; a daughter, Patricia Brown of Pittsfield, Pa.; three sons, Reed L. Ward of Phoenix, Ariz., Stanley Ward of Mundelein, Ill., and William R. Ward of Midland, Texas; a daughter, Nancy Foose of North Royalton, and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three wives, Madeline (Risley) Ward, Louise (Miller) Ward, and Mamie (White) Ward; two sisters, Velma (Lewis) O'Donnell and Mabel Kellogg; a brother, Garland Sweet; and two infant brothers.
Funeral was Saturday.
Ralph "John" L. Derby
MEADVILLE, Pa. - Ralph "John" L. Derby, 90, formerly of East Springfield, Pa., died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at the Beverly Health Care in Meadville.
He was born Nov. 21, 1909, in East Springfield, Pa., the son of Lee and Mattie (Lloyd) Derby.
He retired in 1975 from Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he worked as a crossing guard watchman.
He was a member of Federated Church in East Springfield and was a life member of Springfield Volunteer Fire Department. He was a farmer in his younger years and served with the Army during World War II.
Survivors include a nephew, William Killian of Fairview, Pa., and two nieces: Myrtle Phelps and Rose Fiesler, both of Girard, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Ray and Ross; and two sisters: Florence Teller and Laura Killian.
Graveside service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Springfield Cemetery. The Rev. Charles McClung, of Presbyterian Church in Lake City, Pa., will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.

Lorn O'Dell Wamsley
LINESVILLE, Pa. - Lorn O'Dell Wamsley, 73, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at UPMC Greenville, Pa. after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1927 in Buckhannon, W. Va., the son of Ray and Dollie (Koon) Wamsley.
Mr. Wamsley marriage Doris Blood on May 4, 1950.
He retired from RMI Sodium in Ashtabula after 30 years of service.
A member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church in Linesville, he also took care of the church's lawn and maintenance.
He is survived by his wife; mother; two daughters, Wilma Myers of Linesville, and Susan Spangler of Pipesteam, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Rebecca Little, Keith Myers, Lindsey & Jennifer Spangler; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Glenna Fletcher and Arawana Tenny, both of Ellamore, W.Va.; and seven brothers, Carrol, Ronald, Douglas, Thomas, Daniel, all of Ellamore, W. Va., Charles of Buckhannon, W.Va., and James of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, Willard, Garnet, and Dennis; and a sister, Ruth Wamsley.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Baptist Church, 5564 W. Center Road, Linesville, Pa. The Rev. Terry Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pierpont, Ohio.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Mission Fund, 5564 W. Center Rd., Livesville, Pa. 16424.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, Pa.
John H. Brenneman
GREENVILLE, Pa. - John H. (Jack) Brenneman, 78, of Greenville, Pa., died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville after a brief illness.
He was born Nov. 1, 1924, in Jefferson, the son of Addison R. Brenneman and Lucille Joiner.
Mr. Brenneman was a graduate of Jefferson High School and attended Mount Union College in Alliance. He was a self-employed wholesale lumber dealer since buying the P.M. Frampton Lumber Co. in Greenville in 1952.
He then formed the J.B. Lumber Co., which he operated from his home. He retired in 1995.
Mr. Brenneman served on the Greenville Borough Council for eight years and was its president for two years. He also was on the Shade Tree Commission and was a past chairman of the Greenville Sanitary Authority. He also spent time on the Greenville School Board and the election board for Ward 3.
He was a past president of the Greenville Business Men's Association and a member of BPOE Lodge 145, American Legion Post 140, and VFW Post 3374, all of Greenville.
An active member of the Greenville Lions Club, he served as its president in 196566. In that organization, he also was a zone chairman, region chairman and district governor in 197576, chairman of the Pennsylvania State Council in 197677, and he served on the State Liaison Committee in 197780. He also was awarded the International Presidents Award in 1982.
In addition, he volunteered at the Greenville Area Public Library and was a tour guide at the Railroad Park 604.
Mr. Brenneman served in the U.S. Army in 194345, serving in the European and Pacific theaters.
He marriage Janet C. Case March 9, 1946.
Survivors include his daughter, Jann B. Gaugh of Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, Jerry D. Brenneman of Greenville, and Jeffrey J. Brenneman of Pittsburgh; a sister, Wilda Spencer of Dorset Township; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, who died Jan. 24, 1997; a sister, Audrey Brenneman; and a brother, Roger Brenneman.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Loutzenhiser-Jordan Colonial Funeral Home, 36668 S. Main St., Greenville. The Rev. David Hill, pastor of First Congregational-United Church of Christ in Jefferson, OH will officiate.
Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
