James L. Bish
CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. - James L. Bish, 67, of Conneautville, died Wednesday, May 30, 2001, at Hamot Medical Center.
Mr. Bish was born Aug. 1, 1933, in Hannastown, Pa., the son of Vernon Bish and Olive (Long) Bish Pyle.
He worked for Elkem Metals, Ashtabula Township, OH, for 35 years.
A U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea, he was a member of the Conneautville American Legion Post 615, Scottish Rite Consistory of Erie, ZemZem Temple, Western Crawford Lodge 258 and Palmer United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Donna, two daughters, Patricia Ann Wright and Beverly Starr Barickman of Meadville, Pa.; a son, James of Beaver Center, Pa.; his mother of Kansas, three sisters, Grace Kiser of Kansas, Ethel Mullens of Florida and Olive Moinar of Conneautville, three brothers David of Conneautville, Vernon of Virginia and Walter of Linesville; and six grandchildren, Cassie and Jason Barickman, Holly and Tricia Wright and James and Jared Bish.
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant sister.
A service was held Saturday at the White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, Pa., with the Rev. Howard Roxberry of Palmer United Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in the Beaver Center Cemetery.
Marlene Coolbeth
EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Marlene Coolbeth, 68, died Wednesday morning, April 4, 2001, at Pleasant Ridge Manor in Girard, Pa.
She was born Oct. 23, 1932, in Summerville, Mass., the daughter of George L. O'Brien and Mary F. Buckley Murphy.
She worked at Hopkins Manufacturing and was a former owner of the Girard Motel.
She was a lifetime member of the Girard American Legion Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of West Springfield, Pa. She enjoyed traveling and watching car and bike races.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon Coolbeth of Dunnellon, Fla.; a son, John Holland Jr. of Girard; three daughters, Judy Sargent of Girard, and Joy Holland and Jane Griffith both of Lake City, Pa.; two sisters, Florence LeBel of Parrishville, N.Y., and Kathleen Martins of North Hampton, N.H; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Joseph G. Murphy; two brothers, George O'Brien Jr., and James O'Brien; a son-in-law, James Griffith; and her former husband, John Holland.
At the family's request, there will be no public calling hours. A private family burial will be held at Girard Cemetery.

Maxine M. Althof
ERIE, Pa. - Maxine M. Althof, 88, recently residing at the Corry Manor Nursing Home, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Corry Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 22, 1912, in Cranesville, Pa., the daughter of VanBuren P. and Cora Idella (Williams) Payne.
She worked many years at the Continental Rubber Works in Erie, and previously worked at C.G. Wood Co., in Girard, Pa., and the Girard Model Works.
She was a member of Bethel Assembly of Girard Church, and most recently the Interfaith Worship Center in Erie.
She marriage Daniel Fredric Althof in 1930.
She enjoyed working in her flower garden, watching birds, embroidery and sewing, and reading books and the Bible.
Survivors include two daughters: Marlene Bair of Union City, Pa., and Linda Eisenhuth of Sarasota, Fla.; a son, Leland Althof of Erie; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, on Sept. 9, 1976; two daughters: Marilyn J. McMillen, and a baby, Myrna Althof; two sisters: Dolly Locke and Neimisia Paine; and seven brothers: Ward, Willard, Lyle, Rex, Neil, Vance and Ivan Payne.
Service is 10 a.m. Friday at Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa. Ed Huntley, pastor of Federated Church, and William McCommons, pastor of First Assembly of God in Union City, Pa., will officiate. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery, Wellsburg, Pa.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Lawrence B. Osborn
GREENVILLE Pa. - Lawrence B. Osborn, 64, of Hartford Township, Pa., died Friday, April 4, 2003, at UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville.
He was born May 5, 1935, in Washington, D.C., the son of Ernest C. and Wilda J. Osborn. He was a lifelong resident of the Greenville area and graduated from Vernon H.S. in 1956. He worked at WCI Steel in Warren, for 43 years until his retirement in 1999.
Mr. Osborn marriage Donna M. (Wahl) Oct. 25, 1957. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda M. Derr of Transfer Pa.; a son, Donald L. of Vernon Township.; a brother, Dennis L. of Vienna; a sister, Delores Tidd of Vienna; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at West View Cemetery, Vernon Township. No calling hours will take place. Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, is handling arrangements.
Alberta P. Henry
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Alberta P. "Bert" Henry, 89, formerly from West Springfield, Pa., died Thursday Dec. 5, 2002, at the Inn Conneaut Health Center in Conneaut.
She was born May 20, 1913 in Lawsonham, Pa., in Clarion County, the daughter of George Washington and Della May (Cobbett) Cerby.
She worked as a cooking assistant in the New Kensington Citizen's General Hospital for five years and previously for Rich's Food Products in Lake City, Pa.
Mrs. Henry was a member of the Weslyan Methodist Church in North Springfield, Pa.
Survivors include her son, Robert H. Henry of Lake City, Pa.; two sisters, Harriet E. Rusnock of Arnold, Pa. and Virginia Rochna of New Kensington, Pa.; and a brother, James F. Cerby of Edinboro, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marchand H. Henry on May 8, 1971; whom she marriage in 1937; a daughter, Rosalee Henry; and a sister, Mary Stanley.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa., with the Rev. Marvin Davis of the Federated Church of East Springfield officiating.
Burial will be in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
Cindy L. Smith-Corey
ESPYVILLE, Pa. - Cindy L. Smith-Corey, 39, a former resident of Conneaut and Ashtabula, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, Pa., of a probable coronary.
She was born Oct. 16, 1962, in Conneaut, the daughter of John C. and Marian (Castle) Emerson.
She was employed as a nurse's aide at Westbury Nursing Home in Meadville.
She enjoyed country music, picture puzzles and collecting butterflies.
Survivors include her parents, of Conneaut, OH; her husband, Ray Corey, of Espyville; four daughters, Ketina Eastlick, Susan Rich and Jody Smith, all of Ashtabula, OH, and Kayla Smith of Espyville; two sons, Robert and Timothy Smith, both of Espyville; a sister, Mary Benn of Conneaut; three brothers, John C. Emerson Jr., of Erie, and Donald and Ronald Emerson, both of Conneaut; and three grandchildren, Myranda Rich, and Brandon and Tabitha Eastlick.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, OH, with the Rev. Robert Falke of the Church of the Living God officiating.
Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Daniel Fair Burns Jr,
TARENTUM, Pa. - Daniel Fair Burns Jr, 77, of Yutes Run Road, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at Millcreek Community Hospital.
Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Daniel Fair Sr. and Arbutis (Miller) Burns.
Prior to his retirement, he was a truck driver.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II.
Mr. Burns enjoyed gardening, tinkering with motors and the country.
Mr. Burns was an active CBer, using the handle Slowpoke.
Survivors include his wife, Mae; a son, Lee of Ashtabula; a daughter, Pat Earley of Lawton, Okla.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Don, Johnson and Dick; three sisters, Betty Mokely, Mary Olson and Alice Bore; and his parents.
Service is 7 p.m. Friday at Holy Cross Charismatic Episcopal Church, 341 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH, with the Rev. Nicholas Rizzo officiating.
No calling hours will be observed.
