ATLANTIC, Pa. - Linda J. Teyssier, 47, of Adamsville Road, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at her home.
Born Sept. 24, 1953, in Ashtabula, she was a daughter of Paul and Eleanor (Dahn) Sammons and was an Ashtabula County resident most of her life. She had lived in Atlantic for the past 12 years. She marriage Timothy Teyssier on April 14, 1992.
A graduate of Edgewood High School, she attended Jefferson County Vocational School, where she earned her practical nursing license. At one point, she worked as a home visiting nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association in Crawford County. Most recently, she had been employed at Firedecks where she worked as a restoration cleaner.
Mrs. Teyssier enjoyed her family, taking care of her two Rottweilers, riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, listening to rhythm and blues music, shopping, gardening and attending medieval festivals.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Shonene Fisher of Conneaut; a son, Robert Dickey of Jamestown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Nicole Teyssier of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her parents; three sisters, Janet Lundgren of Conneaut, Melissa Dickey of Saginaw, Mich., and Glenda Baugher of Sachse, Texas; three brothers, Ed Sammons of Placerville, Calif., Fred Sammons of Gulfport, Miss.; and Dana Sammons of Conneaut.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dahn and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sammons.
Service is 11 a.m. Friday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Stephen Szilagyi and the Rev. Walter Coy officiating.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wildlife Rescue. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Bertha E. Platt
EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Bertha “Bud” Eldridge Platt, 84, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003 at the Edinboro Manor Nursing Home in Edinboro, Pa., where she was residing.
She was born in Conneautville, Pa. on Dec. 1, 1918, the daughter of the late Clifford H. and Loma (Hogle) Eldridge.
She most recently worked as a short-order cook at the former Log Cabin Restaurant in Waterford, Pa. Previously, she was a licensed practical nurse working at St. Lukes Hospital in Utica, N.Y. and a private nursing home in Edinboro. She earned her LPN through a correspondence course and from working at a private doctor’s office. Helping to take care of people in their private homes was one of her favorite things outside of reading and baking her famous apple pies.
She was a member of the West Springfield United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Neomi Circle.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Laird of Palm Coast, Fla., JoAnn Hull of East Springfield, Pa. and Cleora Walker of Cullman, Ala.; a brother, Homer Eldridge of Melbourne, Fla., seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall W. Platt on Dec. 1, 1983, whom she marriage on March 21, 1934; two sisters, Lida McWilliams and Viola Dunlap; and one brother, Frank Eldridge.
Service is 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Jean Evans Thompson Funeral Home, 11883 Main St., East Springfield, Pa. 16411, with Pastor Robert Klinger of the West Springfield United Methodist Church, officiating.
Calling hours are noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Following the service, burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens, Erie, Pa.
Theodore Ceeder
CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. - Theodore Ceeder, 92, formerly of Conneaut, OH, died Monday, June 11, 2001, at Rolling Fields Nursing Home in Conneautville, Pa.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, OH.
Clarence Franklin
ERIE, Pa. Clarence Franklin, 61, of Newman Street, died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
He was born Aug. 20, 1939, in Marcela, Miss., the son of Oliver and Willie Mae (Cooper) Franklin.
Mr. Franklin attended Ashtabula High School, Ashtabula, OH, and was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed singing and sang gospel music with such groups as the Natural Tones, Spiritual All Stars and the Golden Bells.
Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Stephanie Ann Franklin; four daughters, Rose Marie of Virginia Beach, Va., Tanasha Renee of Ashtabula, and Twanisha Leanna and Nicole Sherise of Erie; two sons, Clarence Jr. of Ashtabula, and Thomas James Goodwin of Erie; two sisters, Margaret Rozier and Dorothy Williams; three grandchildren, James and Joseph Schmeisser and Eugene Greenlaw Jr. and two great-grandchildren.
Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Friendship Baptist Church, 1711 Plum St., Erie. Burial will be in Erie Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St., Erie, Pa.
Memorial contributions can be made on behalf of the family to the funeral home.
Carolyn S. Long
ERIE, Pa. - Carolyn S. Long, 65, of North Bend Road, Ashtabula, died Friday, April 11, 2003 at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa.
She was born Jan. 17, 1938, in Ivanhoe, Va., the daughter of Eugene and Gladys (Richardson) Stoneman and had been a longtime area resident.
She was a 1956 graduate of Ashtabula High School, Ashtabula, OH. Mrs. Long enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, reading poetry and composing a scrapbook. She was an avid Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest G. Long, whom she marriage Jan. 17, 1959; three daughters, Susan Leonard, Karen Garnett and Kelly Sunderlin all of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, David, Tommy, Stephen, Brianna and Felicia; three brothers, K. Douglas Stoneman, Larry E. Stoneman and Randall Stoneman all of Ashtabula; a sister, Carol Rey of Boca Raton, Fla.
She was preceded in death by a son in infancy and her parents.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
No calling hours will be observed.

Frank J. Terry
EAST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. - Frank J. Terry, 82, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2002, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Mr. Terry was born June 2, 1920, in West Springfield, Pa., the son of John and Dylla (Vacco) Terry.
A 1939 West Springfield High School graduate, he attended Slippery Rock College.
Mr. Terry was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1944 until 1946, when he was honorably discharged.
He was an employee of the New York Central and Penn Central railroads and Conrail, working as an equipment operator and retiring in 1982 after 36 years of service.
Mr. Terry was a member of St. John's Church, Girard, Pa.; a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4965, West Springfield; the American Legion Girard Post; Conneaut Moose Club; and the Conneaut Eagles.
He enjoyed socializing and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his second wife, Louise (Rickard); two sons, William of Lakewood and James of Erie; and a brother, Robert of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Evelyn, in 2000; three sisters, Mamie Bowen, Lena Berry and Lillian Webb; and three brothers, Carl, Louie and Anthony.
Mass of the Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with The Rev. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut, OH.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, and envelopes are available at the funeral home.
Mary Jane Vergara
CONNEAUTVILLE, Pa. - Mary Jane Gerka Vergara, 68, died Friday, April 11, 2003, at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
She was born April 4, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Joseph and Anna Wisniewski.
A homemaker, she was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church of Conneautville.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Vergara; two children, Mary Ann Gerka of Conneautville, Pa., and David Gerka of Winnsboro, Texas; four grandchildren, Lisa M. Gerka, Amber Emphrey, Michelle Glover and Sean O'Neal; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, John Gerka, in 1986; two sisters, Agnes Fetchner and Sophie Molcan; and three brothers, Mike Wisniewski, John Wisniewski and Stanley Wisniewski.
Service is 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 501 Washington St., Conneautville, Pa. The Rev. John Walsh will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the White-Cool Funeral Home, 1405 Main St., Conneautville, Pa., which is handling the arrangements.
