Arthur S. Hoylman
Arthur S. Hoylman, 78, of 2490 Chambersburg Road, Biglerville, died Monday, Feb. 5, at his home.
Born Dec. 26, 1922 in Creston, Mont., he was the son of the late Samuel and Barbara Kauffman Hoylman.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Annabelle Mast Hoylman.
He was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church, Gettysburg, where he served as a former member of the church council and a former Sunday school superintendent.
He was also a member of the Hanover-Gettysburg Life Underwriters Association.
He was a former member of the Chester County Planning Commission, the Cashtown Lions Club, Tender Care Pregnancy Center Board, and former member and treasurer of both the Dairy Herd Improvement Association in Chester County and the Adams Rescue Mission Board.
He had been a former supervisor in Franklin Township.
He was a smokejumper during World War II in Oregon and Montana.
He operated a dairy farm in Chester County for 17 years prior to moving to Gettysburg in 1966, where he served as an agent for Pennsylvania Farms Association.
In 1979, He started Hoylman Insurance Agency, Gettysburg, retiring in 1997.
He is also survived by two sons, Gary A. Hoylman of Gettysburg and Robert L. Hoylman of Biglerville; a daughter, Marilyn K. Dietrick of Gettysburg; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Birky of Garden City, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 8, at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2335 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg, with Pastor Ezra M. Tice officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, Thursday, Feb. 8.

Harold S. Guise
Harold S. Guise, 74, of 63 Laurel Road, Gardners, died Sunday, Feb. 4 in Community Hospital, Port Richey, Fla.
Born March 15, 1926 in Biglerville, he was a son of the late Paul and Evelyn Warner Guise.
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Mary R. Yohe Guise, in 1997.
He was a former employee of the former C. H. Musselman Company, Biglerville, in the office and also as an electrician.
He had also been employed by Peter J. Sweitzer Company, Mount Holly Springs, for many years prior to retiring.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on board the USS Gilbert Islands (C.V.E.-107). He was a member of the Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, the Upper Adams Fish and Game Association, and several antique engine associations.
He is survived by a son, Donald E. Guise of New Oxford; a daughter, Elaine M. Galusha of Arendtsville; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Sherril W. Guise and Cecil R. Guise of Biglerville; a sister, Mary Ernst of East Berlin; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 10, at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, with the Rev. Joel F. Nogle officiating.
Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

Anna M. Leister
Anna M. Leister, 90, of Littlestown, died Monday, Feb. 5 at Gettysburg Hospital.
Born July 14, 1910, in Carroll County, Md., she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Mabel Dutterer Koontz.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward H. Leister.
She was a member of St. Mary’s United Church of Christ, Silver Run; former choir member, Sunday school superintendent and Sunday school teacher.
She also served with “Caring for Our Own”; a volunteer for Gettysburg Hospital; member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Gettysburg Hospital and Thrift Shop volunteer; former president of Littlestown Senior Women and also A.F.W.C.
She was a graduate of Towson Normal School and taught for many years in Maryland prior to retiring in 1972 from Charles Carroll School.
She is also survived by a son, Neal R. Leister and daughter-in-law, Sally A. Leister of Stow, Ohio; two sisters, Kathryn Maus of Silver Run, Md., Louise Knouse of Eastern Shore; two granddaughters, Brooke Leister and Kameron Leister; one grandson, Ian Leister.
She was predeceased by a son, Edward H. Leister, II.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 at Little’s Funeral Home, Littlestown, with her Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Richard W. Scott officiating.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Silver Run.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Raymond R. Ross
Raymond R. Ross, 81, of 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg, died Monday, Feb. 2 at Menno Haven, Chambersburg.
Born Jan. 9, 1920, in Woodstock, Va., he was the son the late Franklin and Lucy (Dellinger) Ross.
He is survived by his wife, Martha M. (Reasner) Ross.
He was a member of St. Paul “The Pine” Lutheran Church, New Chester.
A graduate of Gettysburg High School, class of 1937, he retired from H & H Pontiac, Gettysburg, in 1982.
He was also a former member of Gettysburg Moose.
He was predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, from Feiser Funeral Home, 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford, with his pastor Rev. Benson Paull officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Friday.
Fred E. Slaybaugh
Fred E. Slaybaugh, 76, of Collegeville, Pa., died Monday, Feb. 5 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born on January 30, 1925 in Guernsey, he is survived by his wife, Janet M. (Garretson) Slaybaugh.
He was a member of Wayne Presbyterian Church; Good Samaritan Lodge 336; Free & Accepted Masons, Gettysburg; the Harrisburg Consistory; Gettysburg Lodge 1045, Elks U.S.A.; King of Prussia Post 7878; and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A graduate of Biglerville High School and Central Penn College, Harrisburg, he majored in business administration.
Formerly of Biglerville, he worked for the C.H. Musselman Co.; was a food broker and retired in 1987 from his family’s company, Slaybaugh Associates, Inc.
A corporal in the 136th Quartermaster Truck Co., U.S. Army, he served in the battles of Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He is also survived by two sons, Craig W. Slaybaugh of Collegeville, and David E. Slaybaugh of Malvern; two brothers, Gene Starry of New Oxford and Dean Starry of York; two sisters, Joyce Snyder of New Oxford and Carolyn Turner of New York City; four grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Centerview Cemetery, Biglerville.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Suite 100, Bldg. A, 625 W. Ridge Pike, Conshohocken, PA 19428-1190.

James H. Weaver
James H. Weaver, 76, of Hanover, died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Homewood at Plum Creek, Hanover.
Born Feb. 8, 1924 in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late James S. and Bessie Hoover Weaver.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Frances Soellner Weaver.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hanover and the Telephone Pioneers of America, Baltimore, Md.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is also survived by two daughters, Margaret Lindner of Hanover and Katherine Dodson of Westminster, Md.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret W. Jones of Baltimore, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 5125 Grandview Road, Hanover, with the Rev. Father Joseph F. Gotwalt as celebrant.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, Wednesday, Feb. 7 and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.

Evelyn M. Epley
A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn M. Epley, 88, of 276 E. Lincoln Ave., Gettysburg, who died Feb. 2, at Green Acres, was celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 6, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Father Michael Messner as celebrant.
Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ted Deardorff, Glenn Harner, Charles Heintzleman, Kevin Neiderer, Thomas Monahan, and Robert Monahan, Jr.
Monahan Funeral Home, Gettysburg, was in charge of the arrangements.
Nicole M. Mundorff
Funeral services for Nicole M. Mundorff, formerly of New Oxford, were held recently.
Pallbearers were Bob Mundorff, Neil Mundorff, George Staub, Dave Barnhart, Randy Bankert, and Tony Caltury.
Feiser Funeral Home, was in charge of the arrangements.
