(Funeral Notice) Funeral services will be held Friday at 4 p.m. at the Helt Funeral Home for Ralph Walter Bower, 22 months, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold L. Bower, 450 S. High St., who died Tuesday Oct. 20, 1953 at 7:45 p.m. at
Children’s Hospital, Philadelphia, after a brain operation. The Rev. LeRoy M. Kutz, Jr. will officiate. Interment, Rest Haven Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Thursday.

Bower, Emily K.
Saturday, 30 March 1985
Lock Haven - Emily K. KARSTETTER, 89, of the United Methodist Home, Lewisburg, formerly of South .....died at 11:40 a.m. Friday March 29, 1985.
Born on May 19, 1895 in Greene Township, she was the daughter of Emanuel and Annie STROUSE BOWER.
Her first husband, Clyde McCLOSKEY, preceded her in death in 1918.
She marriage Clarence KARSTETTER in 1921. He died in 1968.
Mrs. KARSTETTER was a home maker and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Mill Hall R.D.
She is survived by two step-sons, William KARSTETTER of Sarasota, Fla. and Richard KARSTETTER of Calvin, Pa.; a daughter, Mrs. James (Eileen) WALKER of Leesburg, Fla.; a step-daughter, Mrs. Hogan (Betty) STEVENSON of Mill Hall; seven step-grandchildren and 20 step-great grandchildren.
Funeral Announcement - Interment: 31 March 1985, Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Phoebe F. BEST, 88, widow of Samuel L. BEST, died at her home, 407 W. Church St., at 10:05 a.m., Snday, Aug. 14, 1955.
Born in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of the late David and Julia HEIMER FLORUSS. She spent most of her life in this area, moving here from Flemington six years ago.
She was a member of the Flemington Methodist Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Harry LOCKE, Lock Haven; Mrs. Florence CARPENTER, Flemington, and Mrs. Rose MONTGOMERY, Drexel Hill; a brother Jacob FLORUSS, Flemington; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lock Haven - Rose B. MONTGOMERY, 93, of 407 W. Church St., Lock Haven, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 1984 at 12:25 p.m. in Lock Haven Hospital Extended Care Unit, where she was a guest for five years.
Born in Flemington on June 28, 1891, she was the daughter of Samuel L. and Phoebe FLORUSS BEST.
She and her husband, Clarence B. MONTGOMERY, lived in Drexel Hill for many years. He died in 1959 and she returned to Lock Haven shortly after his death.
Mrs. MONTGOMERY was a member of Lansdowne United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a step-son, Wayne B. MONTGOMERY, Lansdowne, two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Marietta) LOCKE and Florence CARPENTER, both of Lock Haven, and nieces and nephews.

Barner, Florence V. Carpenter
Saturday, 7 October 1972
Lamar - Mrs. Florence V. BARNER, 71, wife of Walter R. BARNER, Howard R. D. 2, was pronounced dead at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lock Haven Hospital. She had been taken to the hospital after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage at her home.
Mrs. BARNER was a native of Jersey Shore. She was born May 28, 1901, a daughter of Grant and Kathryn HAUSER CARPENTER. She had been failing in health since stricken with a first cerebral hemorrhage three years ago.
In early life, she worked at the silk mill in Jersey Shore, then for a short time during the 1930’s at a short time during the 1930’s at the Susquehanna Silk Mill in Lock Haven. The family had lived in the Lamar area 31 years.
Mrs. BARNER was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lock Haven.
Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Lois WENIG, College Park, Md.; seven grandchildren and two brothers, Lewis and Clyde CARPENTER, of Jersey Shore.

Lock Haven - Marietta Helen LOCKE, 91, of 407 W. Church St., Lock Haven, died at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 1993, in the Susque-View Home Inc. where she had been a guest since March 9, 1993.
Born Jan. 18, 1902, in Flemington, she was the daughter of Samuel L. and Phoebe FLORUSS BEST.
She was united in marriage Aug. 31, 1928, in Flemington to Harry W. LOCKE, who survives.
Mrs. LOCKE was a life long resident of Clinton County and a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Lock Haven High School and the former Lock Haven Normal School.
She taught first grade at the Flemington Elementary School for several years and was also a homemaker.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are one son, Harry David LOCKE of Lock Haven; one daughter, Phoebe J. WEAVER of King of Prussia; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence CARPENTER and Rose MONTGOMERY.

Eggler, Maggie Thomas
Thursday, 21 December 1939
Mrs. Maggie EGGLER, 48, of Lock Haven R.D. 1, wife of Frank EGGLER, died yesterday morning at the Jersey Shore Hospital following an operation.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her mother, Mrs. Louise THOMAS of Woolrich, and a sister, Mrs. Edward EGGLER, also of Woolrich.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the late residence in charge of the Rev. Clarence F. KRESGE. Burial will be made in Swissdale Cemetery.

Getz, Chester D.
October 6, 1953
Chester D. Getz, 53, of 634 W. Main St., died yesterday at 8:35 p.m. at the Lock Haven Hospital were he had been admitted last Saturday. He had been in failing health for about two years.
He was born here and lived in Lock Haven all his life. A meat cutter by profession, he was last employed at Sohmer’s Food Market, Bellefonte Ave.
He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church the local Elks and Moose.
He is survived by his wife, the former Thelma Probst; and a sister, Mrs. Warren Wiedhahn of Ames, NY.

Getz, Thelma A. Probst
February 4, 1989
Thelma A. Getz, 89, of 634 W. Main St., Lock Haven, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 1989 in the Lock Haven Hospital extended care unit where she had been a patient for a week.
Born Jan. 28, 1900 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Garrity Probst.
A graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
In her earlier years, Mrs. Getz was a sales clerk for the former Wiedhahn Jewelers and worked in the Immaculate Conception cafeteria.
She was united in marriage with Chester Getz in Lock Haven. He died Oct. 5, 1963.
Surviving is the wife of a cousin, Mrs. Paul (Muriel) Christ of Drexel Hill.
Mrs. Getz was preceded in death by two cousins, Richard Christ and Paul Christ of Drexel Hill.

Grenoble, John Melvin
January 13, 1990
John M. Grenoble, 77, of 3523 September Drive, Camp Hill, died yesterday in the Camp Hill Care Center.
He was a retired major of the guard at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill and a member of Grace
Evangelical Lutheran Church, West Shore Lodge 681 F & AM, the Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Stahle Grenoble; three sons, John J. of Gardners, Ronald D. of Harrisburg and Robert J. of California; a daughter, Janet Saylor of Mechanicsburg; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
The Myers-Hall Funeral Home, Camp Hill, is handling arrangements.

Pochey, Dorothea Graham
June 7, 1993
Dorothea Selders Pochey, 81, formerly of 261 Park Ave., Woolrich, died at 4:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 1993 in the
York Hospital (York, PA).
Born July 27, 1911 in Woolrich, she was the daughter of Wilford and Flora Herritt Graham.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas J. Selders, in 1964, and her second husband, Russell A.
Puchey in November 1989.
Mrs. Pochey was a member of the Woolrich Community Church and a 1929 graduate of Altoona High School.
She retired in 1976 from Anchor Darling Valve Company in Williamsport after 25 years of service.
Surviving are one son, John F. Selders of Carlisle; one daughter, Mrs. Max (Nancy) Burger of Denver, with whom she made her home for three years; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three
step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Stiles Graham in 1989.
