John Wenker, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died at his home on East Water street Wednesday night September 2, at the advanced age of 80 years.
The deceased was a native of Switzerland, but at the age of 16 years came to America and settled in Woodward township on a farm he still owned at the time of his death. Mr. Wenker was a man noted for integrity, and for a period of sixty years had been one of the substantial members of the Evangelical church at Swissdale. Mr. Wenker was the father of nine children all of whom survive, namely, John and Alvin of Texas; Mrs. Sees of Watsontown, David of Williamsport, Jacob, Irvin, Dudley, Mrs. Joseph Probst and Miss Annie of this city. The funeral was held from the Evangelical church at Swissdale, Saturday afternoon and interment made in the Swissdale Cemetery.
Welch, Leroy A.

Leroy A. Welch, 66, a farmer here (Romola) many years, died Saturday at 2:45 p.m. at the Lock Haven Hospital. He had been admitted to the hospital earlier in the week, after he became ill at his home.
Mr. Welch was born June 17, 1905 in Curtin Twp., Centre County, a son of Jacob and Nora Allen Welch. He had both farmed locally, and had worked for the General Refractories in Orviston. He was a member of the Romola Christian Church.
Mr. Welch was marriage to the former Pearl L. Young who survives with two sons and two daughters: Leroy J, and Mrs. Lillian Geise, Romola; Boyd A., Howard R.D. 1; and Mrs. Sylvia Heerly, Lock Haven; also three sisters, Mrs. Zella Davis, Williamsport; Mrs. Sarah Evans, Philadelphia; and Mrs. Dora Hevner, Beech Creek; and 13 grandchildren.

Lock Haven - Pearl E. DICKEY, 82, of 220 Middle St., Mill Hall, formerly of Beech Creek, died Saturday, July 6, 1996 in the Lock Haven Hospital.
Born Feb. 7, 1914 in Lock Haven, she was the daughter of James and Carrie RAUCH WADSWORTH.
Mrs. DICKEY was a member of Bible Mission Church, Lock Haven.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, canning and flower gardening.
She was united in marriage July 31, 1933 to Glenn A. DICKEY who preceded her in death Oct. 29, 1978.
Surviving are three daughters, Ruth E. McCLOSKEY of R.R. 1, Mill Hall, Dorothy P. GEYER of R.R.2 Mill Hall and Betty G. BECK of Bellefonte; three sons, Kenneth L. DICKEY, Donald P. DICKEY and Larry G. DICKEY, all of Mill Hall.
Also three sisters, Anna DICKEY of Mill Hall, Margaret CARIS of Avis and Mabel FIEDLER of Jersey Shore; two brothers Arthur WADSWORTH of Blanchard and William WADSWORTH of Beech Creek; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several step-grandchildren.

Wilson, Gertrude Lynn

Beech Creek - Mrs. Gertrude Lynn WILSON, 96, a native of Beech Creek, and long a resident of Williamsport, died Sunday at the Elizabethtown Masonic Home.
Mrs. WILSON and her husband, the late Boyd WILSON, had gone to the Masonic Home to live in the late 1960s. His death there followed within the year of their admission.
Mrs. WILSON was born here June 23, 1877, a daughter of Thomas and Mary KANE LYNN. She leaves two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice BITTNER, of Alabama.
Her funeral will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Williamsport, with burial in Wildwood Cemetery.

She was the widow of Raymond A. Young. The Rev. David S. Harper, pastor of the Linden United Methodist Charge, will officiate Burial, State Road Cemetery,. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon Tuesday until time of service.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Highland Cemetery for William B. Yost, 79, formerly of Putnam Manor, who died at Lock Haven Hospital at 10:10 p.. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 1991. The Rev. Lloyd Campbell of the Blanchard Church of Christ will officiate. There will be no visitation.

Yufer, Anna May

Mrs. Anna May Myers, wife of John B. Myers, died at the hospital at 4:20 o’clock Saturday morning after an illness of two weeks from pleurisy and complications. She was 53 years of age.
She is survived by her husband, one son, John Myers, of this city, and a sister and brothers, Mrs. E. S. Christ, of DuBois, and William Yufer, of York.
Funeral services were held at the home of deceased’s son, John Myers, of 316 Henderson Street on Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, Rev. S. E. Bidlack officiating. Interment was made in Highland Cemetery.
Zessinger, Miriam Mary

Mrs. Miriam Mary MYERS, 76, widow of Ralph R. MYERS, died suddenly early this morning in her home 38 W. Bald Eagle St. Death was due to a coronary occlusion, according to R. LeRoy BRYERTON, coroner.
Mrs. George SNYDER, who lived with Mrs. MYERS, heard her get up this morning between 5:30 and 6:30, then fall to the floor, where she found her.
Mrs. MYERS was born in Lock Haven, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alec ZESSINGER. She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ.
She worked with her husband in his Bellefonte Av. sporting goods store, prior to his death on July 4, 1954. She was a member of the women of the Moose, and auxiliary order of the Masonic Temple.
Survivers include two sisters, Mrs. Harry BAY, Lock Haven, and Mrs. Maude SMITH, Camp Hill, and a brother, George ZESSINGER, Lock Haven.
