HAROLD F. BROWN, 88
Harold F. Brown, 88, of 52 LaSalle Ave., Jamestown, N.Y., died at 2:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in WCA Hospital.
Mr. Brown was born Dec. 14, 1911, in Titusville to the late Arthur and Vera Wilson Brown and had lived in the Jamestown area since 1957.
He marriage the former Agnes P. Geary on June 11, 1935. She survives.
A 1930 Titusville High School graduate, Mr. Brown was employed by Quality Markets for 43 years and managed stores in Titusville, Franklin and Oil City. He retired in 1976 as director and vice president of merchandising for the Jamestown corporate headquarters.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling and, in his younger years, was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Brown belonged to Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, Jamestown.
Also surviving are: a son, Richard R. Brown of Ypsilanti, Mich.; two granddaughters, Sandra Elka of Ypsilanti and Leslie Brown of Tecumseh, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
A brother, Wilson Brown; and a sister, Ruth Spencer Zdarko, died previously.
Interment will be in St. Catharine's Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church, 385 S. Main St., Jamestown, 14701; Titusville Alumni Association, 302 E. Walnut St., Titusville; or the the charity of one's choice.

ALYSSA NICOLE KEPNER, 7
Alyssa Nicole Kepner, 7, daughter of Randy L. and Teresa L. Weaver Kepner of 505 S. Franklin St., died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at 6:30 p.m. in Titusville Area Hospital.
Alyssa was born Dec. 31, 1992, in Titusville.
She attended Grace Fellowship Church and enjoyed her friends and family.
Alyssa and her family were given the opportunity through the Make A Wish Foundation to travel to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Andrew Kepner at home; two sisters, Angela and Ashley Kepner, at home; a half-brother, Steven Kepner of Hughesville; her maternal grandfather, John Weaver of Texas; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kepner of Hughesville; her maternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Staub of Titusville, RD 3; her paternal great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Lindsay of Hydetown; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her maternal grand-mother, Linda Weaver, died previously.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

CHARLES A. 'AL' MYERS, 71
Charles A. "Al" Myers, 71, of 10522 Dempseytown Road, Titusville, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at 1:15 a.m. in his home.
Mr. Myers was born May 25, 1928, at Hartwick, N.Y., to the late Daniel Foss and Lucille Griffith Myers.
He marriage the former Dorothy Ross on July 23, 1949, at Wyoming, Del. She survives.
After graduating in 1946 from Caesar Rodney High School, Wyoming, Del. Mr. Myers entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1948.
He owned Myers Tastee Freez in Titusville from 1967 to 1972. He then opened Myers Quick Print Shop in Oil City, from which he retired in 1989.
Mr. Myers enjoyed gardening and golf.
He is survived by: his wife of 50 years; two daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Joan) Vidoni of Florence, S.C., and Carol Myers of Corry; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Virdin of Dover, Del.; two brothers, Leonard Myers of Port Charlotte, Fla., and Robert Myers of Tulare, Calif.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William, Joseph, Orville and Wilbur Myers; and four sisters, Claudine Myers, Anna Roe, Ruth King and Shirley Gooch.
Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home and attend the funeral there Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Dale Rhome of Oil City officiating.
Private interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery, Gresham.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 322 W. Main St., or the charity of one's choice.

RICHARD V. ROBERTSON SR., 77
Richard V. Robertson Sr., 77, of 5305 Old Sterrettania Road, Erie, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
Mr. Robertson was born Sept. 4, 1922, at Ithaca, N.Y., to the late Carl and Katherine Nicholas Robertson.
He marriage the former Elizabeth Lowros, a Titusville native, who survives.
Mr. Robertson graduated from Millcreek High School in 1941 and was a Navy veteran of World War II.
In addition to building custom homes, he founded and was past president of Robertson Kitchens. In 1977/78, he was past president of American Kitchen Dealers.
Mr. Robertson belonged to Lawrence Lodge 708 Free and Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Erie, and Erie Maernnerchor Club.
He was a member and past commander of Millcreek American Legion Post 773, a former member of Erie Yacht Club and Erie Power Squadron, founding member and second commander of the Commodore Perry Yacht Club and former member of the Zem Zem Temple Shrine.
Mr. Robertson enjoyed hunting, fishing, feeding birds and spending time at camp.
Also surviving are a daughter, Carol Lopez of Santa Fe; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Richard V. and Deborah Robertson Jr. and James J. and Diana Robertson, all of Erie, and Dwight D. Robertson of Pittsburgh; a brother, Lee H. Robertson of Erie; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A brother, Charles Robertson; and a sister, Katherine Murray, died previously.
Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. Eighth St., Erie, 16505.

DOROTHY C. BENGSTON, 88
Dorothy C. Bengston, 88, died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Windsor Place, North Hills, Pittsburgh. She formerly lived on West Elm Street and in the Presbyterian Home, both of Titusville.
She has been a resident of Windsor Place since November 1999.
She was born July 28, 1912, in Titusville to the late Ernest and Nettie Kelly Cox.
She graduated from Titusville High School in 1930.
She was marriage to the late Williard A. Bengston.
She was formerly employed as executive secretary for Cities Service Oil Co., Department of Labor and Industry, Bureau of Inspection and Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Co., all of Titusville.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Titusville Area Hospital Auxiliary, Titusville Garden Club and was an area representative for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Johnstone and her husband, Jack, of Pittsburgh; a son, John A. Bengston and his wife, Susan, of Ridgefield, Conn.; a granddaughter, Kristen A. Pontello and her husband, Richard, of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Shawn G. Bengtson and his wife, Tina, of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Alexandra Ann and Erik Gunnar Bengtson; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Ted H. Cox and Allan M. Cox, died previously.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Dr. Barry E. Cressman, pastor.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

CHARLES N. RAUSCHENBERG, 84
Charles N. "Charlie" Rauschenberg, 84, of 208 Union St. died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Charleroi to the late Carl H. and Essene Nuss Rauschenberg.
He marriage the former Harriet Wilson on May 16, 1942, in Titusville. She died Nov. 10, 1989.
He was a graduate of Penn High School, Greenville.
A Navy veteran of World War II, he spent most of his military time stationed in the South Pacific.
He had worked in Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp.'s cold mill as a roll turner and had been employed there for more than 30 years when he retired in 1965.
He was a member of Titusville Church of Christ.
He was a life member of Bruce Shorts Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5958, the Elder Statesmen Golf League and belonged to the Colonial Tours Travel Group.
He was an avid bowler and golfer, and he loved fishing.
Survivors include: a son and his wife, Donald C. and Barbara Rauschenberg of Titusville; three daughters, Mrs. Frank (Rita) Rodgers of Centerville, Mrs. Thomas (Carol) Leis of Monroe, Conn., and Mrs. Charles (Janet) Mandaville of Titusville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Winifred Jane Duhon of Norfolk, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
Three brothers died previously: James A. Rauschenberg, Richard G. Rauschenberg and Robert N. Rauschenberg.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Robert O'Brien, pastor of the Church of Christ.
Interment with full military rites will be in Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Titusville Area Health Center Foundation or the Church of Christ, 221 W. Main St.

HELEN R. VON TACKY, 88
Helen R. von Tacky, 88, formerly of 322 Union St., died at 8:43 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital.
She had lived at Southwoods Assisted Living Community since March 26, 1999.
She was born Oct. 25, 1912, in Rochester, N.Y., to the late Dr. Joseph and Alice Montgomery Rodgers Roby.
She marriage Richard L. von Tacky on Oct. 5, 1940, in Rochester. He died May 20, 1988.
She retired with her husband to Southern Pines, N.C., in 1975. After his death, she moved to Pittsburgh in 1993 and returned to Titusville in 1999.
She graduated from the Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. After graduation and prior to her marriage, she owned a millinery in Rochester.
She was a member of St. James Memorial Episcopal Church.
She belonged to the Service League, Titusville Country Club, Women of the Pines at Pinehurst, N.C., and Titusville Area Hospital Auxiliary.
A volunteer for Meals on Wheels, she also was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include: a daughter, Alice Roby von Tacky Ross and her husband, Daniel, of Cincinnati; a son, Richard L. von Tacky Jr. and his wife, Suzanne, of Titusville; four grandsons, Daniel Ross, Gary Ross, Curtis von Tacky and Wesley von Tacky; two great-grandchildren; Alexandra Ross and Noah Ross; a brother, Dr. Ross Roby of Kennett Square; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith von Tacky, on Nov. 22, 1999; and a brother, Joseph Roby.
No public calling hours will be observed.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2001, in St. James Memorial Episcopal Church by the Rev. Sean Rowe, pastor of St. John's Episcopal Church, Franklin; and the Rev. Dr. Barry E. Cressman, pastor of Titusville First Presbyterian Church.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. James Memorial Episcopal Church, 112 E. Main St.
Arrangements are by Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home.

ROBERT C. ROUSH, 51
Robert C. Roush, 51, of Grand Valley, RD 2, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at his home. He was born Dec. 25, 1949, in Kane to the late William and Lorraine Nedeau Roush.
He marriage the former Grace Clara Wilbur, who survives, in July 1979 in Tidioute.

GLADELLA LEWIS, 52
Gladella M. (Della) Lewis, 52, of Harmony Township, Forest County, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2001, at her home on Preacher Hill. She was born Oct. 5, 1948 in Lake Wales, Fla., a daughter of Lucille (Howe) Reese, who survives in Endeavor, and of the late Edward Reese, who died in 1988.
Mrs. Lewis was marriage Oct. 10, 1965, in Sugar Hill, Clarion County to Kenneth L. Lewis Sr. who also survives.

Paul H. Swanson, 89
Paul H. Swanson, 89, of 311 N. Fourth St. died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1912, in Titusville to the late Fred and Jennie K. Swanson.
He marriage the former Ruth Gustafson on Nov. 15, 1952, in Titusville; she died March 8, 1979.
He was a 1930 graduate of Titusville High School and attended Penn State University.
He had been employed by Cities Service Refinery from 1932 to 1951. He then went to work for Koppers Co. Inc. of Oil City, where he was employed until retiring in August 1977.
He was a life member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, and his life centered on church activities. He served on the church board, sang in the choir and was a Sunday school teacher and usher. He belonged to the Lutheran Church Men and served as chairman of the renovation committee of 1969. He was on the church Boy Scout committee.
He was also involved with the American Red Cross as a first-aid instructor.
Many nieces and nephews survive.
A brother, Evan G. Swanson; and three sisters: Evelyn Swanson, Ruth Dutton and Edla Engdahl died previously.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home. Visitation continues Tuesday at Emanuel Lutheran Church from 10 to 11 a.m., when the funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Kathleen Meyers.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Emanuel Lutheran Church, 218 W. Elm St.

WILLIAM 'VERN' WHITMER, 93
William L. "Vern" Whitmer, 93, 150 Hutchinson Drive, North East, died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie.
Born Sept. 1, 1908, in Hydetown, he was the son of the late Edward S. and Anna Mae Donaldson Whitmer.
He had been marriage to the former Hazel Bearce, who died in 1973. On June 12, 1976, he marriage the former Dorothy E. Carlson Samuelson; she survives.
He had lived in North East since 1978 and worked for Food Machinery Corp. in Erie for 30 years, retiring in 1973. He managed Lake View Apartments between 1974 and 1980. Previously, he worked for Struthers Wells in Titusville for two years and did construction work for many years.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Erie, where he belonged to Bethany Fellowship.
Two daughters, Jane Phleuger and Mary Ellen Whitmer; and a brother, Jess Whitmer, died previously.
Survivors include: five daughters and their husbands, Lillian Bortzer, Irene and Lawrence Bromley, Evelyn Cancilla and Judy and Larry Ward, all of Titusville, and Roxanna and James Williams of Mentor, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Bethany Lutheran Church, 254 E. 10th St., Erie, by the Rev. Albert U. Gesler Jr.
Interment will take place in Diamond Cemetery, Venango County, at a time and date to be announced with the Rev. Gerald Miller, pastor of Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church, officiating.
Arrangements are by Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Erie.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 254 E. 10th St., Erie, 16503.
