Vera K. Masiker, 80, of Chardon, Ohio, died suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999.
Mrs. Masiker was born Aug. 15, 1919, in Tionesta to the late James W. and Alice Ledebur Bisker.
She marriage Charles R. Masiker on June 12, 1937, at Jamestown, N.Y. He died previously.
Mrs. Masiker had attended Tionesta High School, where she was on the girls' basketball team.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting and gardening. A self-taught painter while living in the Southwest, she did many oil paintings of scenes from that region. In earlier years she was involved in a sewing circle of close friends. She also enjoyed nature and her daily walks.
Surviving are: three children and their spouses, Gary D. and Barbara Masiker of Titusville, Katherine and Dan Smith of Chardon and Dale Masiker of Painesville, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Nancy and Melvin Cole, Larry and Brenda Masiker, Cathy and Tim Fielding, Mark Masiker, Robin and Ken Malchow, Lorraine O'Callaghan, Glenn and Patricia Masiker, Cheryl Smith, Kim and David Peterson, Carol and Stephen Silvis, Georgianna Guntrum, Bruce and Christy Masiker, and David Masiker; a step-son and his wife, Ronnie and Erin Metzgar; 22 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Masiker of Titusville; three sisters, Gratia Galey of Pennsville, N.J., Ruby Brady of Deptford, N.J., and Doris England of Tionesta; two brothers, Marshall Bisker of Tionesta and Wayne Bisker of Canal-Winchester, Ohio; and a friend, Joseph Spitaleri.
Mrs. Masiker was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick W. Bisker, in 1993; and a son, Norman C. Masiker, in 1997.
Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held in the future.
GEORGE D. MATTESON, 72
George D. Matteson, 72, of Taylor Stand Road, Centerville, died Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in his home.
Mr. Matteson was born May 7, 1927, at Littles Corners to the late James Monroe Matteson and Nora Jane Southworth.
He was honorably discharged from the Navy with the rank of seaman first class and served in the Navy Reserves from April 20, 1945, to July 27, 1946.
Mr. Matteson had retired from Conrail.
He was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are: five children and their spouses, George L. and Mary Matteson of Avon Park, Fla., Robin L. and Linda Matteson of Slidell, La., Elaine and Joseph Rudy of Guys Mills, Marlena and Wilfred Wilhelm of Centerville and Karen and Johnny Downor of Salem, Va.; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Iyla Swinson of Cambridge Springs and Sarabell McCool of Cooperstown; two half-brothers, Chet Davison of Meadville and Arnold Davison of Conneautville; and several step-children, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, James Matteson and Stanley Matteson; and a son, Gary Lynn Matteson, died previously.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Little Cooley UMC.
LORRAINE N. BURT, 56
Lorraine N. Burt, 56, of 801 E. Main St., died at 8:40 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital shortly after arriving.
She was born Sept. 9, 1944, in Detroit to Harriett Winslow Hills of Pleasantville and the late Roy O. Hills.
She marriage Jack E. Burt on June 15, 1960, at Bethel United Methodist Church. He survives.
She was a member of Titusville Church of the Nazarene, where she previously taught Sunday school. She was a member of the church's missionary society and active with children's program.
She was program director of Love In the Name of Christ and enjoyed helping people.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane M. Burt of Severn, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Robert (Frances) Peterson of Pleasantville; and many nieces and nephews.
Two sisters, Beverly Lucas and Margaret Mott, died previously.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Titusville Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. William C. Hopkins, pastor.
Interment will be in Union Cemetery.

JUNE M. DRAKE, 65
June M. Drake, 65, formerly of Water Street, Meadville, died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Meadville Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 30, 1935, in Townville to Carol Sybrant Drake of Townville and the late Morris Earl Drake.
She graduated from Townville High School.
She was a secretary for Carpenter Electric for seven years and then was employed by Penelec for 27 years, retiring in 1991.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, photography and traveling.
Survivors include: three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan M. Drake Bentley of Laurel, Md., Janet M. and Bill Chris of Spartansburg and Judy M. and Rusty Glasgow of Baltimore; a brother and sister-in-law, Gary M. and Dottie Drake of Townville; and seven nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Townville, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. John L. Miller of Pastor Park Congregational Church.
Interment will be in Kingsley Cemtery, Townville.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
RICHARD JOSEPH MAIN, 68
Word has been received that Richard Joseph Main, 68, of Hinckley, Ohio, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 31, 1932, in Portsmouth, N.H., to Leon W. and Florence A. McKenzie Main.
He spent the early part of his life in the Diamond-Titusville area.
He worked for Jones and Laughlin Steel and LTV Steel of Cleveland, retiring after 40 years' employment.
Survivors include: his wife, Eileen; three daughters, Laura Rivera of Cleveland, Florence Thomas of Titusville and Delilah Swan of Union City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother, Florence Fiely of Diamond; and his twin sisters, Erma Jacobs of Oil City and Emma Atha of Diamond.
Interment took place Saturday in Hinckley.
J. BARRY ZORKO, 53
J. Barry Zorko, 53, of Arbor Lane, North Myrtle Beach, S.C., died April 1, 2001, at his home after a short illness.
He was born in West Newton to the late Ludwig and Mary Trillow Zorko.
He marriage the former Catherine "Kate" Malik, who survives.
A former Centerville resident, he moved to South Carolina in 1997.
He owned Island Mist Driving Range in Little River, S.C., and was the former owner of B&D Alternator Service in Centerville.
He earned a degree from Geneva College, Beaver Falls.
He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church and belonged to the Elks Club.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golf, racquetball, baseball and softball.
Survivors include: a brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Janet Zorko of Fort Myers, Fla.; his father-in-law, John Malik of Cohoes, N.Y.; several sisters- and brothers-in-law, Judy Lacy and Thom Pepe, Gail and Tom Cashin, Dawn and Tom Daubney, Wendy Cunningham and Patrice and Michael Maksymik; and several nieces and nephews and their spouses: Kevin and his wife, Kelly, and Erin, Billy, Emily, Danny, Taylor, Brian, C.J., Kaitlyn, John, Andrew, Jordan, Shannon, Bridget and Meghan.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today in Dufresne Funeral Home, 216 Columbia St., Cohoes.
On Thursday, a funeral will be conducted at 9 a.m. in the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Bernard's Church.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes.

J. DUANE UPTON, 83
J. Duane Upton, 83, of Santee, Calif., died Saturday, June 9, 2001, in Santee.
He was born June 29, 1917, in Garland to the late James Delos and Eva Hayes Upton.
For 57 years he had been marriage to the former June E. Haller, who survives.
A Townville High School graduate, he moved his family to California in 1955.
He was an insurance investigator for more than 20 years.
He served as a deacon at First Baptist Church, Santa Ana, Calif. His great-great-grandfather, William Snyder, was a founding member of Warren First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, June Peterson of Carlsbad, Calif., and Jan Wargo of San Diego; two grandchildren, Pete Curry Cheney and Diana Graddon, both of Washington State; and two great-granddaughters, Jackie Graddon and Victoria Graddon.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Willis L. Arnold Funeral Home, Townville.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Townville Baptist Church by the Rev. Dwain Patrick, pastor.
Interment will be in Garland Methodist Cemetery.
MARIBELLE L. BROOKS, 65
Maribelle L. Brooks, 65, of Tionesta, RD 1, died Monday evening, Aug. 20, 2001, in Titusville Area Hospital. She had been in ill health for 25 years and had been a resident of Beverly Healthcare-Titusville for the past 2 1/2 years.
She was born Sept. 29, 1935, in Farmington Township, Clarion County, to the late Wesley and Gertrude Blum Host.
She marriage Harry A. Brooks, who survives, on Dec. 23, 1967.
James Duane Lord, 67
James Duane Lord, 67, of 1129 Sheffield Ave., Waterloo, Iowa, died Aug. 16, 2001, after a period of declining health.
He was born March 25, 1934, in Mill Village to Alfred W. and Gladys Gourley Lord.
A former resident of Spartansburg, Riceville and Corry, he attended the former Bloomfield High School.
He marriage the former Martha Mann in 1955. Subsequently he marriage the former Loureene Glenn Geiger, who survives.
ELLIS L. ALTENBURG
TOWNVILLE - Ellis L. Altenburg of 14647 W. Freemont St., Townville, died Monday, June 3, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Marsh Altenburg.
There will be no public visitation or funeral.
MARY L. WINTON, 78
Mary L. Winton, 78, of 115 W. Bloss St. died at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2003, at her home.
Born Dec. 15, 1924, at Corry, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Estella Hicks Stokes.
She marriage Ralph F. "Bucky" Winton on May 3, 1942, at Clymer, N.Y.; he survives.
She graduated from Spartansburg High School in 1942.
She had been employed as a seamstress at Farley's Dry Cleaning, as a cook at The Oaks Restaurant and as a barmaid at Cross Creek Resort. She also had been employed at the former Lee Casuals in Titusville and once had owned and operated a tavern at Centerville.
She enjoyed quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, having raised two of them: Erin Metzgar and Greta Beck.
Survivors include: four daughters and sons-in-law, Penny Lee and Steven Flamio of Erie, Holly and Larry Peterson of Titusville, Joy and Chris Prow of Martinsburg, N.Y., and Melonee and Gordon Danielson of Frewsburg, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Claude Stokes of Corry; a sister, Veoa Soloniuk of Titusville; and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Nelson Stokes; and a sister, Leola Willis, died previously.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by Pastor Gary Kinnear of Breedtown Baptist Church.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Centerville.
