Rose J. Miklinski Shubert, 94, of Canton, Ohio, formerly of 3926 State St., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, at Canton Regency Health Center.
She was born Aug. 19, 1903, in Erie, daughter of the late Alex and Joan Wisniewski Miklinski.
While living in Erie, Mrs. Shubert was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and St. Luke Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Felix Shubert, and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Ronald A. Shubert of Canton, and four grandchildren, Sheryl, Leslie, Kurt and Doug Shubert.
A private service was held Monday at Carl A. Slomski & Son Funeral Home, E. 21st and Ash streets.
Burial was at Trinity Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Rev. John F. Morris Jr.
CAMBRIDGE SPRINGS - The Rev. John F. "Junior" Morris Jr., 82, of 17986 Grange Center Road, Saegertown, Crawford County, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Meadville Medical Center.
He was born June 28, 1915, in Meadville, son of the late John Francis and Sarah Jane Lefever Morris.
Rev. Morris was ordained a minister in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Sept. 16, 1948. Most recently he was the pastor of Lyona Community Church from 1960-62. From 1944-57, he was the pastor of CMA churches in Watrous, Tioga County, Canton, Bradford County, Tulsa, Okla., and Pleasantview in Crawford County. He also was the interim pastor for several churches.
From 1961 until his retirement in 1978, he worked for Abex Corp. in Meadville as a copper tester. He previously worked at the Post Office in Saegertown for several years and for W.T. Grant Co. in Meadville for four years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene, in 1954; a sister, Sarah Dittmer; two brothers, John A. and Robert Morris; and a great-granddaughter, Angela Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Ordella Marie Kiser Morris, whom he marriage April 20, 1940; three sons, Kenneth R. Morris of Saegertown and his wife, Florence, Dan J. Morris of Meadville and his wife, Helen, and C. David Morris of Cambridge Springs and his wife, Ruthie; two sisters, Mrs. Marian Toohey and Eleanor Sauer and her husband, Harold, all of Girard; two brothers, Paul Morris of Henderson, N.C., and the Rev. Henry Morris of Johnstown; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Van Matre Funeral Home in Cambridge Springs on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Cambridge Springs on Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Larry Mills, pastor, and the Rev. Rod Beardsley, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be at Brookhauser Cemetery in Saegertown.
Memorials may be made to the Cambridge Springs Missionary and Alliance Building Fund, 233 Church St., Cambridge Springs, PA 16403; or the American Cancer Society.

Philip F. Jacobus
Philip F. Jacobus, 82, of Clay Street Extension, Kane, McKean County, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at New York University Medical Center in New York City.
He was born Nov. 11, 1915, in Kane, son of Dante and Rose Boiney Jacobus.
Mr. Jacobus graduated from Kane High School in 1932 and from the University of Pittsburgh Law School in 1940. He had been a lawyer in Kane since 1945. He was a member of the McKean County Bar Association and belonged to the Pennsylvania Bar Association for more than 50 years.
Mr. Jacobus served in the U.S. Army from 1940-45 in a searchlight battalion and with Army Intelligence. He also played clarinet and sang in the Army band. At one time he was a member of the Deutsch Meisters Band.
He was a parishioner of St. Callistus Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Jacobus, and a brother, Henry Jacobus.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Holmes Jacobus, whom he marriage in 1942; a daughter, Kathryne Jacobus of San Diego, Calif.; two sons, Henry Jacobus of Spangler, Cambria County, and Philip Jacobus of New York City; a brother, Paul Jacobus of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Cummings Funeral Home, 151 Greeves St., Kane, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A vigil will be held there at 8:45 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Callistus Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Philip Pinczewski will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at St. Callistus Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Kane Ambulance Assurance Plan.

Eddie B. Evans Jr.
Eddie B. Evans Jr., 42, of 1110 W. 20th St., died at his home Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.
He was born May 5, 1955, in Laurel, Miss., son of Eddie B. Evans and Mary Henderson of Erie.
Mr. Evans, who attended McKinley Elementary School and Academy High School, graduated from Penn State University Behrend College with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology.
He had worked for Case Management Support Services as a supervisor for several years. He was an advocate for the homeless and a former president of the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Evans, who graduated from Inter-Denominational Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Ga., was an assistant pastor of Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ.
He was a Big Brother and a member of Omega Psi Phi fraternity. He enjoyed basketball, tennis and camping.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Arthur Henderson, and a sister, Gloria Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Saunders Evans; three sons, Loren E., Ja-Ned B. and Marcus R. Evans, all at home; three brothers, Willie L. Henderson and his wife, Sharon, Ernest L. Evans and his wife, Lydia, all of Erie, and Joseph Evans of Lexington, Ky., and his wife, Monica; a sister, Debra A. Evans of Erie; two stepsisters, Marilyn and Pam Persons, both of Erie; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at Holy Trinity Church of God in Christ, 1703 Holland St., on Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Saturday at 11 a.m. Elder Willie A. Harris will officiate.
Burial will be at Erie Cemetery.

Orville A. Ohl Jr.
ROANOKE, Va. - Orville A. "Bud" Ohl Jr., 64, of Roanoke, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998.
He was born in Summerville, Pa., son of the late Orville A. and Bertha Markell Ohl Sr.
Mr. Ohl, who attended Penn State University Behrend College, most recently worked for International Telephone and Telegraph Corp. (ITT) before his retirement. He was a member of the International Union of Electrical Workers (IUE) Local 162.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Roanoke.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Mason Ohl; four daughters, Julie Doss of Largo, Fla., and her husband, Steve, Peggy A. Ohl of Christiansburg, Va., Melissa Rice and her husband, Anthony, and Crystal J. Ohl, all of Roanoke; a son, Rick Ohl of Salem, Va., and his wife, Becky; six grandchildren, Eric and Amy Doss, Jennifer and Aaron Rice, Jake and Matt Ohl; two sisters, Florence Richards of Brookville, Jefferson County, and her husband, Harold, and Grace Singleton of Summerville and her husband, Don; and several nieces and nephews.

Mike Leone
WESTFIELD, N.Y. - Mike Leone, 79, of Academy Street, Westfield, died at his home Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998.
He was born Jan. 25, 1918, in Westfield, son of the late Frank and Angeline DeFrancisco Leone.
Mr. Leone, who lived in Westfield all his life, owned a family grape farm until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the National Grape Cooperative Association. He grew grapes for Welch Foods Co. and was an accomplished winemaker. He briefly worked at General Electric Co. in Erie as a welder after World War II.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific. He was a member of American Legion John W. Rogers Post 327 and VFW William P. Jackway Post 6764.
Mr. Leone was a parishioner of St. James Major Catholic Church in Westfield. He was a member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 118 and the Westfield Fish & Game Club. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Anthony Leone, and two sisters, Mary Mallozzi and Frances Keefe.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Grace Yacklon Leone, whom he marriage Nov. 11, 1939; two sons, Frank Leone of Washington, W.Va., and Charles Leone of North Ridgeville, Ohio; a daughter, Joanna Erskine of Fairhope, Ala.; four grandchildren, Diann Schnell and Wendy, Brian and Carli Leone; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at St. James Major Catholic Church on Wednesday at noon. The Rev. Daniel A. Lapinski will be the celebrant.
Burial will be at Westfield Cemetery.

Mary Venelli McGavisk
Mary Venelli McGavisk, 81, of 1417 W. 26th St., died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Saint Vincent Health Center after a brief illness.
She was born March 17, 1916, in Bradford, McKean County, daughter of the late Joseph and Fanny Venelli.
Mrs. McGavisk, who lived in Erie most of her life, worked at Saint Vincent Health Center for 36 years, retiring in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. McGavisk, and a son, Dennis J. McGavisk.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane McGavisk of Erie; a son, William F. McGavisk of Erie and his wife, Sandy; a brother, John Venelli of Bradford; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at John R. Orlando Funeral Home, 2122 Raspberry St., Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Wednesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass at St. Peter Cathedral at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Lawrence Ozarski
DOWNINGTOWN - Lawrence "Bud" Ozarski, 54, of Downingtown, Chester County, formerly of Erie, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Brandywine Hospital in Coatesville, Chester County.
He was born Nov. 10, 1943, in Jersey City, N.J.
Mr. Ozarski was the director of information systems for Weyerhaeuser Paper Co. in Valley Forge. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Honey Brook and was a member of the Elks club.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Ozarski; three daughters, Michele Putnam of North Attleboro, Mass., Lorraine S. Ozarski and Janice P. Ozarski, both of Downingtown; two sons, Stephen J. and Jeffrey Ozarski, both of State College; a brother, Joseph Basista of Belleville, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at Donohue Funeral Home, 43 West Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in North Arlington, N.J., on Wednesday at noon.
Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
