Jerome E. "Jerry" Omniewski, 77, of 134 Longacre Drive, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Pittsburgh.
He was born May 13, 1920, in Erie, son of the late Stanley and Celia Falkowski Omniewski.
Mr. Omniewski, who was a graduate of Erie Tech High School, attended Penn State University. He worked for the Times Publishing Co., where he was a district manager of circulation, for 45 years, retiring five years ago. He was a former treasurer of the Erie Times Employees Credit Union. He also owned the Pines Motel near Ripley, N.Y.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II with the 451st Bomb Squadron.
Mr. Omniewski was a parishioner of St. George Catholic Church, where he was a eucharistic minister. He was a member of the Moniuszko Singing Society, Presque Isle Yacht Club, Siebenbuerger Club, Polish Falcons and Foresters Beneficial Association. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Kroto, and three brothers, John, Stanley and Joe Omniewski.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ida H. Jakubowski Omniewski; three sons, Daniel J. Omniewski and his wife, Rosemary, and Terry T. Omniewski, all of Erie, and Timothy J. Omniewski of Ripley; three grandchildren, Erin, Emelia and Nicholas Omniewski; and a brother, Walter Omniewski of Erie and his wife, Rose.
Friends may call at Brugger Home for Funerals, W. 38th and Greengarden Blvd., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Thursday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorials may be made to the Erie Cursillo Movement, in care of St. Mark Church, 695 Smithson Ave., Erie, Pa. 16511.

Gertrude Hawke Harrah
FRANKLIN - Gertrude E. Hawke Harrah, 76, of 412 Eleventh St., Franklin, Venango County, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Northwest Medical Center in Franklin.
She was born Feb. 11, 1921, in Franklin, daughter of the late Herbert W. and Emma Flickner Hawke.
Mrs. Harrah worked for Manifold Printing Co., then for Weston's as a receiving clerk. She enjoyed camping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curry Harrah; a son, Ronald Hawke, in 1994; and five brothers, Richard, Raymond, Herbert, Andrew and Burton Hawke.
She is survived by a sister, Sandra Welshans of Marienville, Forest County; five grandchildren, Linda Reddish and Ronald, David, Stephen and Scott Hawke; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, 1315 Chestnut St., Franklin, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Wednesday at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. John Sass, a retired United Methodist minister.
Burial will be at Franklin Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church or the Visiting Nurse Association of Venango County.

Evelyn Hall Greenlee
Evelyn Hall Greenlee, 83, of RD 1 Albion, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 1998, at Edinboro Manor after a long illness.
She was born April 8, 1914, in Erie, daughter of the late James and Esther Thompson Hall.
Mrs. Greenlee was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Albion. She enjoyed sewing and needlework, baking, canning and especially gardening.
She was preceded in death by three sons, Donald Greenlee in 1954, Larry Greenlee in 1993 and Robert Greenlee in 1995.
She is survived by her husband, W. Lawrence "Farmer" Greenlee, whom she marriage May 23, 1931; a daughter, Mrs. Roy (JoAnn) Juhl of Rochester, Mich.; two sons, Roy Greenlee of Albion and Roger Greenlee; a brother, Norman Hall of St. Petersburg, Fla.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Samuel J. Steff Funeral Home, 188 East State St., Albion, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The service will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Spring Cemetery.

Cornelia Pratt Smith
Cornelia L. Pratt "Neal" Smith, 84, of 1120 Parkside Drive, Harborcreek Township, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Hamot Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1913, in Erie, daughter of the late George Thomas and Rose Hain Pratt.
Mrs. Smith, who lived in Harborcreek for 53 years, was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
She was affiliated with the Gertrude A. Barber Center and the Steady Strivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert C. Smith, on May 19, 1997; seven brothers, George, Thomas, Louis, Henry, Norman, Arthur and Joe Pratt; three sisters, Mae Hewitt, Esther Malmberg and Viola Scott; two grandsons, Kenneth Bird and Thomas Furey; a great-granddaughter, Melissa Mishik; and a great-grandson, Daniel Brown.
She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Bird and her husband, Robert, and Sally Furey and her husband, Carl, all of Harborcreek; a son, Thomas Smith of Harborcreek; a sister, Irene Wagner of Harborcreek and her husband, John; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held there Thursday at 9:15 a.m., followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Gregory Cemetery.

Teresa A. Conant
Teresa A. Conant, 38, of 522 E. 32nd St., formerly of Corry, died at her home Monday, Jan. 19, 1998.
She was born March 4, 1959, in Corry, daughter of Charlotte Proper Conant of Erie and the late Walter Conant, who died June 30, 1985.
Miss Conant was raised and educated in Corry. She moved to Erie to live with her mother in 1979.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her stepfather, John Besanson of Erie; a sister, Mrs. Randy (Natalie) Richards of Erie; three nieces and a nephew.
Calling hours and the funeral service will be private.
Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Bracken Funeral Home in Corry is in charge of arrangements.

John J. Dropsho
John J. Dropsho, 77, of 11125 Lake Pleasant Road, Greene Township, died at his home Monday morning, Jan. 19, 1998.
He was born May 7, 1920, in Nanty Glo, Cambria County, son of the late Andrew and Anna Pazur Dropsho.
Mr. Dropsho, who lived in the Erie area most of his life, most recently worked for the Wattsburg School District as a bus driver for five years, retiring in 1984. He was the building manager for Highpoint Towers in Erie for six years, owned a wholesale meat route for more than 10 years and worked for Haibach Brothers Meat Co. for 19 years.
Mr. Dropsho was a member of the Greene Township Senior Citizens, the United Commercial Travelers and the American Association of Retired Persons. He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis A. Eckert Dropsho; four daughters, Mrs. Bob (Karen) Krieger of Waterford, Barbara Troutman of Wesleyville, Mrs. Bruce (Nancy) Kinsinger of Union City and Mrs. Bob (Dolores "Dolly") Hughes of Fuquay-Varina, N.C.; a son, David Dropsho of Greenfield Township and his wife, April; two sisters, Margaret Gross of Erie and Mrs. Chester (Irene) Healey of Greene Township; a cousin with whom he was raised, George Dropsho of Zephyrhills, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Robert Orsted, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at Phillipsville Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family for the charity of their choice.

Jeffrey A. Allen
Jeffrey A. Allen, 29, of 200 Freeport Road, North East, died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Hamot Medical Center from complications from injuries he sustained in a traffic accident.
He was born Oct. 29, 1968, in Erie, son of John and Carol Myers Allen of Harborcreek Township.
Mr. Allen, who lived in the Erie area all his life, was a draftsman for CDI Corp. He enjoyed classic cars.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Mindy Miller Allen; two brothers, Scott Allen of Jefferson, Ohio, and his wife, Lauri, and Noah Allen of Harborcreek; his maternal grandparents, Marion and Jane Myers of Harborcreek; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call at Dusckas Funeral Home East, 2607 Buffalo Road, on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. The service will be held there Thursday at 11 a.m., conducted by the Rev. A.K. Graff.
Burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

Olive Mae Russell Nowoczynski
Olive Mae Russell Nowoczynski, 53, of 2112 Downing Ave., died Monday, Jan. 19, 1998, at Saint Vincent Health Center.
She was born Jan. 10, 1945, in Erie, son of John E. Russell of Erie and the late Hope Lydic Russell.
Mrs. Nowoczynski was an employee of the Erie Parking Authority. She enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her mother, was a brother, Edward Russell.
In addition to her father, survivors include her husband, Joseph T. Nowoczynski, and a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Tresa) Delinski of Erie.
Friends may call at Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 E. 12th St., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Wednesday at 8:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Luke Catholic Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at Mary, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
