ALBION - Louis Noe, 81, of 12240 Wickwire Road, Albion, and formerly of 55 Watkins Lane, Clarksburg, W.Va., died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at Saint Vincent Health Center, following a brief illness.
He was born in Salem, W.Va., April 4, 1916, a son of the late Albert and Marie Lebon Noe. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Albion, and a former member of the First Methodist Church in Clarksburg. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the F.&A.M., Lodge in Clarksburg, and the Eastern Star Lodge in Clarksburg. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a fan of other sports. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, Pauline Stillman, Mildred Hibbs, Marie Hefner and Simone Hurst, and a brother, Hector Noe.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bernice Hilbert Noe; two sons, Ronald Noe and his wife Marlene of Albion, and Steven Noe and his wife Sheena of Canonsburg; a sister, Norma Bittiner of Maryland; two brothers, Albert Noe and his wife Rose, and George Noe and his wife Violet, all of Florida; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, this evening from 7 to 9 and may attend a funeral service there Monday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Arthur Bakus will officiate.
Burial will be in Bridgeport (W.Va.) Cemetery.
The Samuel J. Steff Funeral Home, Albion, is handling local arrangements.
Kathryn F. Lasher
Was assembler at Astatic Corp.
CONNEAUT, Ohio - Kathryn F. Lasher, 80, of Harbor Street, Conneaut, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at her home.
She was born in Conneaut, Sept. 30, 1917, a daughter of the late Sanford and Mabelle McMillan Fox. She worked as an assembler at the former Astatic Corp. until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, especially religious material.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred V. Lasher, in 1984.
She is survived by her caretakers, Kenneth and Sandra Baldwin of Conneaut.
Friends may call at the March Funeral Home, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of a service there at 11. The Rev. Peg Welch, pastor of the First United Methodist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

Helen L. Flick Golis
Helen L. Flick Golis, 75, formerly of 1202 E. 29th St., died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at Millcreek Community Hospital.
She was born in DuBois, Nov. 29, 1922, a daughter of the late Alphonsus and Esther Hughey Flick. Before she retired, she was a beautician at the former Boston Store and Carlisle's Department Store. She was an avid reader and enjoyed decorating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin V. Golis; a sister, Charlean Schleicher; and a brother, Jack Flick.
She is survived by a daughter, Michelle Floros and her husband Louis of Erie; a son, Mark E. Golis and his wife Lucy of Erie; three grandchildren, Charissa Floros, Zachary Golis and Matt Ratkowski, all of Erie; and four sisters, Peg Miller and Ann Liedl, both of DuBois, Mary Bohenski of Seneca Falls, N.Y., and Genevieve Miller of Erie.
Friends are invited to a service at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery Chapel, Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. The Rev. Monsignor William E. Biebel will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
The Carl A. Slomski and Son Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Annette I. Johnson Ebert
Annette I. Johnson Ebert, 73, of 615 E. Gore Road, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 1998, at her home, following an extended illness.
She was born in Erie, March 3, 1924, a daughter of the late Bert L. and Anna T. Sandin Johnson. She worked in the clerical department of the Erie County Department of Public Assistance until her retirement in 1991. Before that, she had been a secretary for the Erie School District and the Erie County School District and had been office manager for the first Erie County Vo-Tech School Board.
She was a member of the Belle Valley Presbyterian Church, where she had been a deacon and elder. She was a member of the General Electric Exempt Employees Group. She was a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Cub Scouts, including six years as a den mother. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles and gardening.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Milton R. "Mel" Ebert; a daughter, Marilyn Dorfman and her husband Robert of Columbia, Md.; three sons, Karl Ebert and his wife Sally and Frederick Ebert and his wife Diane, all of Waterford, and Douglas Ebert and his wife Gwen of Erie; two sisters, Bertelle Ebert of Erie and Connie Sandel of Boca Raton, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kira, Jenna, Jessica, Daniel, Matthew and Caitlin Ebert; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home, 2926 Pine Ave., this evening from 7 to 9 and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service there Tuesday at 10:15 a.m., followed by a service at the Belle Valley Presbyterian Church at 11. The Rev. Susan Speakman, pastor of Belle Valley Presbyterian, and the Rev. Carl Hull, will officiate.

Louise Schweitzer Dolce
Louise Schweitzer Dolce, 91, of 422 Beverly Drive, died at her home Friday, Jan. 16, 1998.
She was born July 17, 1906, in Sheffield, Warren County, daughter of the late Louis and Kathryn Dolan Schweitzer.
Mrs. Dolce was a graduate of Brocton High School in New York state and earned a degree in music education from Fredonia State Teachers College.
She taught instrumental and vocal music at Academy High School from 1934-44 and instructed the Girls Glee Club at Mercyhurst College. She later taught elementary school band and orchestra for the Erie School District at Harding Elementary and other schools.
After retiring in 1971, Mrs. Dolce conducted the Erie Civic Orchestra until 1982.
She enjoyed playing in string quartets and played piano duets throughout the city with her late sister, Isadora.
She was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Isadora Schweitzer.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Phillip J. Dolce; a son, James L. Dolce of Lakewood, Ohio, and his wife, Christine; and three grandchildren, Jessica, Geoffrey and Amanda Dolce.
Friends may call at Brugger Home for Funerals, W. 38th and Greengarden Blvd., on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be held there Monday at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Alvin F. Bax
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Alvin F. Bax, 75, of Georgetown, Fla., formerly of Lake City, died at his home Thursday, Jan. 15, 1998, after a long illness.
He was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Lake City, son of the late Roy and Henrietta Hess Bax.
Mr. Bax worked for the Girard School District, where he was the director of maintenance and transportation, until his retirement in 1977. He had lived in the Fort Myers, Fla., area since then. He was a former chief of the Lake City Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Bax was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific as a chief machinist mate.
While living in Erie County, he was the scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 53 in Lake City and commodore of the Presque Isle Yacht Club. In Florida he was the director of the Fort Myers Senior Citizens Harmonica Club, which performed throughout the area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean Everett Bax, and a sister.
He is survived by his daughter, Janet Jones of Larkspur, Colo.; his son, Dale Bax of Whitefish, Mont.; three sisters, Mary Sedler, Lucille Bax and Paulene Young, all of Lake City; a brother, Paul Bax of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and five grandchildren, Aaron and Adam Jones and Graywyn, Caylor and Sterling Bax.
Remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held later.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of North Central Florida, 3204 Crill Ave., Palatka, FLA 32178.
The National Cremation Society, 1914 Beachway Road, Suite 3-D, Jacksonville, was in charge of arrangements.

Sophia Grabinski Orlowski
Sophia R. Grabinski Orlowski, formerly of 524 Ash St., died on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at her Methodist Towers residence.
She was born in Erie on June 22, 1914, a daughter of the late Stanley and Gladys Zbikowski Grabinski.
She belonged to St. Hedwig Church, the Lakefront Senior Citizens and Senior Citizens Center, and the Society of the Holy Spirit.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Orlowski Sr., and three brothers, Louis Grabinski, Raymond Grabinski and Ted Gray.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Regina) Rutkowski of Erie and Mrs. Jack (Terri) Crytzer of Meadville; a son, Raymond Orlowski Jr. of Erie; four sisters, Jennie Pazdziesz, Mary Duskus and Stella Kelly, all of Erie, and Dorothy Fuller of Venice, Fla.; two brothers, Walter Grabinski and Leonard Grabinski, both of Erie; eight grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Edward J. Garr Funeral Home, 459 E. 12th St., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held there Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at St. Hedwig Catholic Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Martin Barr Sr.
Martin Barr Sr., 85, 313 W. Sixth St., died on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1998, at his residence.
He was born in Newark, N.J., on Aug. 10, 1912, son of the late Peter and Mary Janas Barczynski.
Mr. Barr was preceded in death by his wife, Anna R. Bauser Barr on May 31, 1975; a son, Martin Barr Jr. on March 31, 1976; a sister, Cecelia Stein; and two brothers, William and Walter Barczynski.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Anita) Sabetti of Erie; a son, James E. Barr of Fairview and his wife, Anne; seven grandchildren, Tony, Joe and Stefanie Sabetti, James, Stephen, Christine and Mara Barr; a sister, Mrs. James (Clara) Lack of Fairview; three brothers, Edward Barr of Detroit and Alexander Barczynski and Theodore Barr, both of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.
A private service was held at the Russell C. Schmidt and Son Funeral Home.
Private burial was at Calvary Cemetery.
