Jean Louise Stellfox, 64, of 44 E. Ave., Mount Carmel, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died Monday, Oct. 27, 2003, at Geisinger Medical Center, after a hit and run car accident on Sunday evening in Mount Carmel.
She was born Dec. 4, 1938, in Danville and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold and Ethel (Yeager) Stellfox.
Ms. Stellfox was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in English from Dickinson College, Carlisle. She also received her master's degree in English from Penn State University, where she graduated with honors. She did additional graduate work at Penn State, State College; Oberlin College, Ohio; and Eastern College, St. Davids.
She worked for 39 years as an English teacher in Shamokin Area High School, retiring in 2000. After retirement, she worked as an adjunct professor of English at Lycoming County Community College.
Ms. Stellfox was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church, Mount Carmel, where she served as a lector, was a presenter of programs for church women, and a member of church council.
She was a Phi Beta Kappa sustaining member and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, and Association of University Women. She was a life member of N.E.A. and P.S.E.A. and a member of Choraliers.
Ms. Stellfox exemplified the importance and meaningfulness of the beauty of nature in life and of the arts; literature, art and music. She also enjoyed playing the piano.
She is the last surviving member of her direct line and cousins, including Mary Ann Gray of Danville.
Friends and family may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Willard A. Rothermel Funeral Home, 120-122 S. Market St., Mount Carmel. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Grace Lutheran Church, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Charles A. Souders officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

He was born in Annapolis, Md., June 14, 1981, and was the son of Darrell Wolfe, Berwick, and Marie Oley Shoemaker, Sylvan Lake.
He graduated from Lake-Lehman High School with honors in 1999 and graduated from Bloomsburg University in 2003, majoring in secondary mathematics. He student-taught at Columbia-Montour Vocational Technical School and was currently teaching in the Pocono Mountain School District.

A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of Route 29 and Route 118, Pikes Creek, with the Rev. Joseph Pisaneschi, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Pikes Creek. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Betty was born in Berwick on Aug. 6, 1967 to Ralph and Nancy Mowery Musselman of Berwick.
She graduated from Berwick High School in 1986, and had been employed at Berwick Knitwear.
She was a member of Bloomsburg Baptist Church and the Berwick Salvation Army. She enjoyed reading, walking and country music.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Ezra Fausnaught, Bloomsburg; a daughter, Crystal Shaffer, Berwick; six siblings: Mary L. Burger, Shickshinny; Judy L. White, Kingston; Elizabeth Babb, Bloomsburg; Faith Gordner, Berwick; Ralph L. Musselman Jr., Tower City; and Beth Ann Klinesmith, Berwick; 20 nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Heller Funeral Home, Nescopeck, where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Nescopeck. The Rev. Born in Irvington, N.J., he was a graduate of Philadelphia Biblical University, Langhorne. He served, with his wife, as a missionary for 32 years in Chile with the Gospel Mission of South America. He was the founder of the Latin Evangelical Outreach (LEO), serving Hispanics in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan areas. His sending church was Madison Avenue Baptist Church of Paterson, N.J. He was very involved in Crossroads Christian Fellowship of Union, N.J., during the beginning years of LEO. Since moving to North Carolina, he has been an active worshipper at the Ireland Street Chapel of Burlington.
Survivors include two sisters: Mrs. Henrietta Reynolds of Kentucky; Mrs. Betty Valoff of California; one brother, Charles F. Tobelmann of California; three daughters: Mrs. Lois Senning of California; Mrs. Dorothy Bowen of Rohrsburg; and Mrs. Helen McLeod of North Carolina; two sons: George Tobelmann of North Carolina; and the Rev. Charles J. Tobelmann of New Jersey; one adopted son, Heriberto Moreno, of the Andean Aurocanian Indians, Coquimbo, Chile; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Born June 10, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, he was a son of Gerald F. and Jean McGrath Ferry.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Wilkes-Barre, Class of 1970. In 1974, he earned his bachelor's degree from King's College, Wilkes-Barre. He completed his education at Temple University School of Dentistry in 1978.
Dr. Ferry completed his residency in dentistry with the Veterans Administration medical centers in Allentown and Wilkes-Barre. He has been in private practice on South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre, for the past 20 years.
He was a member of the American Dental Association.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, the former Charlotte Crumley; children: Christopher, a student at King's College; Alissa, a student at the University of Pittsburgh; and Brian, a student at Meyers High School; one brother, John J. Ferry, D.D.S., of Harrisburg; a sister, Catherine M. Curtin of Berwick; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from McLaughlin Family Funeral Service, 142 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre, with Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.

Distinguished teacher was active in community

Born in Bloomsburg, she was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by her parents, Abram, in 1951, and Kathryn Kelly Snyder, in 1955; as well as her two sisters, Elizabeth Snyder of Harrisburg, in 1965, and Mary Kathyrn Snyder of Bloomsburg, in 1986. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Miss Snyder was a graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Class of 1938 and Bloomsburg State Teachers College, Class of 1942. She earned her graduate degrees from Pittsburgh University. She also attended classes through Penn State University. She was a life member of Delta Pi Epsilon, honorary graduate school business education fraternity.
She was past state president of the Department of Classroom Teachers, PSEA, and served for many years as a member of the State Teacher Education and Professional Standards Commission, also of PSEA.
The Teacher of the Year title was twice bestowed upon Miss Snyder by the National Office Management Association of the greater Harrisburg area. In addition, she was named Teacher of the Year twice by the editorial staff of the Harrisburg Patriot News for her public relations work with student reporters in conjunction with the newspaper's 17-county-wide school news organization. She was noted as a professional speaker for educational as well as community groups, and enjoyed wide recognition for her expertise in business education and in student-related publication endeavors.
Miss Snyder was head of the Business Education Department of the South Middleton School District at Boiling Springs from 1945 until she retired in 1977, at which time she served in administrative capacities as public relations director and federal program coordinator for the school district.
Prior to teaching at Boiling Springs, she taught for three years in the Jefferson Junior-Senior High School, south of Pittsburgh, and also served as a World War II Greene County Airplane spotter for the Pittsburgh area. Upon her move to Cumberland County in 1945, she served as an instructor for Carlisle Barracks servicemen attending ceramic classes at the USO Center in Carlisle.
A member of the Bloomsburg Civic Club, Almedia Homemakers and Women of the Moose, Miss Snyder was the first woman to serve on the Columbia County Land Preservation Board. Along with her sister Mary, she was listed as one of the two original producers for the Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble. She has held memberships in the Columbia and Snyder County Historical societies.
For many years since her retirement, she has served on the executive council of the Columbia County Homemakers and also on the Columbia County executive board of the Penn State Extension Service. She was named Cooperator of the Year in 1986, receiving the service award for that group. One of three women who inaugurated the first courses of Self-help Arthritis classes through Penn State Extension, she also was one of the original members of the Family Living Program Council for the group. She has been awarded Person of the Year for the 4-H/Bank Administers group.
A memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at 10 a.m. at St. Columba Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick A. Devine officiating. Burial will be in the Snyder family plot in Old Rosemont Cemetery, Bloomsburg. Arrangements are under the direction of the Allen Funeral Home, 745 Market St., Bloomsburg. Woman enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles
Enid M. She had been in failing health for several months.
Born June 14, 1920, in Nuremberg, Schuylkill County, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Sarah A. Hopkins Nicolodi.
She graduated at the top of her class from the former Rock Glen High School, and was also at the top of her class when she graduated from McCann's Business College.
Mrs. Recla worked in the cafeteria at Berwick School District and in the office at Berwick Weaving, retiring in the early 1980s.
She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, where she was very active in the Bible study groups, helped publish the church newsletters and taught Sunday school for the youth for many years. She was also a former member of the Berwick Moose. She enjoyed gardening and crossword puzzles.

Springs, Colo.. Lawrence Recla Jr. is married to Sharri. The couple has one daughter, Katelyn Recla, also of Colorado Springs.
Mrs. Recla is also survived by one daughter, Cathie Chuka, who, with her husband Paul, of Mifflinville, has two daughters of her own. The first, Nichole Reeder of Danville, is married to Josh and has a daughter, Calla, also of Danville. The second is Sara Chuka, a student at Wilkes University.
Funeral services for Mrs. Recla will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1600 Fowler Ave., Berwick, with the Rev. John R. Koons, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Nuremberg Cemetery, Schuylkill County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the James L. Hinckley Jr. Funeral Home, 1024 Market St., Berwick, and on Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. She is also survived by her husband of 54 years, Wallace E. Shotwell; one daughter, Mrs. David (Cindy) L. Brown of Berwick; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Danville Masonic Lodge 224, Danville Royal Arch Chapter 239, Calvary Commandery 37, Valleychamp Council 25 of Sunbury, American Legion Post 40 of Danville and Southside Fire Co. of Riverside.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was a very proud father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, the former Mary Mann; daughters: Lisa Jordan of Sayre; Mrs. James (Michelle) Farmer of Gaitersburg, Md.; one granddaughter, Sarah Catherine Weber; brothers: Richard, Jack and Charles Jordan, all of Danville.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at Brady Funeral Home Inc., 320 Church St., Danville. Visitation from noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Jacob R. Mr. Fedder had been in failing health for the past 18 months. He had lived at his Iron Street residence for 10 years. He had been a Bloomsburg resident his entire life.
Mr. Fedder was born July 15, 1927, in Bloomsburg, a son of the late David and Emma (Ertwine) Fedder. He attended the Cooper Township Schools.
Mr. Fedder retired from Bloomsburg Mills in 1992, after 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Danville Apostolic Church, Riverside. In his younger years, he was a rodeo clown and later enjoyed being a clown in parades. Mr. Fedder collected clown statues.

Lunger of Catawissa; eleven grandchildren: Mrs. Douglas (Kelly) Gibson, Luther Herring, Craig Savidge, Jennifer Savidge, Kayla Grove, Justin Fedder, Shane Lunger, Cassandra Lunger, Zephaniah Savidge, and Olivia Lunger; three great-grandchildren; Josiah Gibson, Joel Gibson and Jada Gibson; and a sister: Millie Geyer of Fernville.

He was currently employed as a sales associate for Lowe's Home Improvement Center in Pottsville. Prior to that, he operated his father's former business, Herbein Electric in Ashland, until it closed in March of this year.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jewel (Kahley) Herbein, Zion Grove; and three sons: Andrew, Thomas and Mark, all at home. A sister, Chole Schwartz, Aberdeen, Md., survives, as do aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, East Main Street, Ringtown. Relatives and friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church before the service.
Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 211, Ringtown, PA 17697 or American Diabetes Association, chapter of one's choice.
