Local Woman Passes Away Following Lingering Illness
Mrs. Myra Wilt of Deeds street, died at 5 p.m. yesterday morning in the Latrobe Hospital, where she had been admitted as a medical patient in July of this year. She was 58 years old.
Mrs. Wilt was born in Cook township, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Ankney and widow of the late Frank Wilt who preceded her in death about twenty years ago. She was a faithful member of the Ligonier Methodist church.
Surviving are two sons, William L. Wilt, teacher in Indiana, Pa. High School and Jack at home. Also surviving are two grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Carolyn Dysard of Huntingdon, Pa.; Mrs. Melda Crownover of near Madison and Mrs. Zula Ridell of Ligonier, Mac Ankney of Latrobe and Charles Ankney of Ligonier.
Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

FRANK M. WILT
Frank M. Wilt, died at his home in Ligonier last Thursday evening. Mr. Wilt had been in ill health for the past 10 years, he having been suffering from injuries received in an accident. Mr. Wilt was of a retiring disposition and he had a multitude of friends. Mr. Wilt was aged 56 years, four months and 18 days. He was married to a former Latrobe girl, Miss Myra Ankney, who survives him, together with two sons, William, a teacher in the High School at Indiana, Pa., and Jack, at home. A daughter, Margaret Belle, preceded him in death 15 years ago. He is also survived by three sisters and two brothers. He was a member of the Ligonier Methodist Episcopal church, serving on the official board for many years. Funeral services were held at his late home last Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment was made in the Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Myrtle Ankney
Mrs. Myrtle Ankney, widow of the late John Ankney who died in the Ligonier Valley Railroad wreck in 1912, died of a heart condition at her home, 339 East Church St., Ligonier, 9:40 a.m. Saturday, March 29. She was 71 years old. She is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Charles W. Ankney, Ligonier; Mrs. Charles Irwin, Oak Grove; Mrs. Clarence Barron, Youngwood; Mrs. Bert Harkcom, Melcroft; and two brothers, W.H. Kuhns, Uniontown, and Harry Kuhns, Ligonier. Friends were received at the D. Paul Wilkinson Funeral Home where services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. S. Clay Shaffer, pastor of the Evangelical U.B. Church, officiating and Rev. R.A. Nelson former pastor assisting. Interment was made in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.

JOHN ANKNEY, aged 35 years, 10 months and 13 days, of Ligonier; owned property on Church street; fireman of freight engine No. 7, of which S.C. Beatty was the engineer; both legs crushed, being run over by tender, hurt about body, scar on head; died on way to Latrobe hospital, returned to his home same night. He is survived by his widow and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. [Ankney] [illegible] 3 brothers and 4 sisters -- B.G., of [illegible] Funeral was held [illegible] services in United Evangelical church, conducted by his pastor, Rev. N. Frank Boyer, assisted by Rev. W.A. Sites, of Latrobe U.B. church, and Rev. C.E. Ludwig. Interment in Valley Cemetery.

Mrs. Katheryn Ankney
Mrs. Katheryn (Kuhns) Ankney of Johnstown, formerly of Ligonier, died April 15 in Lee Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. She was born August 14, 1884, a daughter of the late Jonathan and Elizabeth Allen Kuhns. Widow of the late Charles W. Ankney, she is survived by these children: Mrs. William (Naomi) Danser of Youngwood; Mrs. James (Evelyn) Bowers of Johnstown; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Fry of Latrobe; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Charles (Melda) Irwin of Ligonier, Mrs. Bert (Arminta) Harkcom of Mechanicsburg and Mrs. Clarence (Alice) Barron of Greensburg. Funeral service was held Friday at the D. Paul Wilkinson Funeral Home, Ligonier, the Rev. Ralph Brownfield in charge. Interment was in Ligonier Valley Cemetery.

CHARLES W. ANKNEY
Charles W. Ankney of East Church St., Ligonier died Friday at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Haake of Lloydsville. He was born May 20, 1882. A retired State Highway employe, he served two terms on Ligonier Borough Council.
Surviving are his widow, Kathryn (Kuhns) Ankney; daughters, Mrs. William (Naomi) Danser Jr., of Youngwood; Mrs. James (Evelyn) Bowers of Johnstown; Mrs. Robert (Helen) Fry of Latrobe; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Zula Cose of Blairsville.
Funeral service was held at the D. Paul Wilkinson Funeral Home, Ligonier on Monday. The Rev. Ralph W. Brownfield, pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church (former EUB) was in charge. Interment was in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.

MRS. OPHIE MAY PLUMMER
Mrs. Ophie May Plummer, wife of David Plummer, of Ligonier township, died Sunday, January 19, 1919, of pulmonary tuberculosis, after a long illness, aged 30 years, 8 months and 12 days. She was a daughter of the late John Geeting, a Civil war veteran, and many years before her marriage made her home with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. H.Y. McDowell. She is survived by her husband and five small children ranging in age from about 3 to 12 years. Funeral services were held yesterday in Zion church, conducted by the Rev. William Hunter, Jr., pastor of the local M.E. church. She had been a member of the United Evangelical church for 16 years. Interment was made in the Zion Cemetery.

DAVID P. PLUMMER
David P. Plummer, 74, of Waterford died suddenly Wednesday night in McGinnis Hospital. Born February 1, 1886, in McKeesport, he lived most of his life in the Ligonier Valley and was a carpenter by trade. He is survived by his widow (Mrs. Margaret Plummer), seven sons and six daughters (David Jr., Earl, Mrs. Harry Boyd, and Mrs. Kenneth Ament of Waterford; Mrs. Dale Claycomb of Oak Grove, Mrs. Richard Knupp of RD 2, Ligonier, Mrs. Reuben Barkley of RD 1, Bolivar, Paul of RD 3, Latrobe, Henry of Pittsburg, Albert of Baltimore, Merle of Cuyahoga Falls, O.), a sister (Mrs. Daisy Martin of McKeesport) and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 in Sibel-Wolford Funeral Home.

Benjamin G. Ankney, 47 years old, one of the two men who were crushed to death in a fall of rock at the mine of the Ridge Coal Company, near West Derry, Wednesday morning, March 2, was the fourth member of the family of Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Ankney of Latrobe, to meet a violent death. Two brothers and a brother-in-law also died through accidents. Some years ago, Wertner Ankney, seven years old, a son, ran a stick into his eye while on his way to school, which caused his death a short time later. John Ankney, another son, who was a railroad fireman, was killed in the disastrous Ligonier Valley train wreck on the Wilpen branch July 5, 1912. Lawrence Riddell, the husband of a daughter, died as the result of an accident in the plant of the Railway Steel Spring Company, nine years ago. Funeral services for Benjamin Ankney, the third son to die in an accident, were held at 2 o'clock, Friday afternoon, from the home of his parents, with the Rev. W.A. Sites in charge. Interment at Coles Cemetery.
