Elvira (Musillo) Oft, 83, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, in Shadyside Hospital. Survived by her sons, Russell Oft of Murrysville, and Dennis A. Oft and his wife Kimberly of Pleasant Hills; a sister, Leanora Young; five grandchildren, Russell Jr., Emily, Sadie, Steven and Nicholas Oft; three great-grandchildren, Troy, Justin and Niyah Oft; a sister-in-law, Jessie Musillo of Munhall. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Rocco and Jennie Verderson Musillo; sisters, Clara and her husband John Sibilia, and Grace and her husband Sam Oawster; brothers, Daniel and his wife Mary Musillo, and James and Raymond Musillo. Friends were received in the GEORGE IRVIN GREEN FUNERAL HOME INC. (A Selected Golden Rule Member Firm), 3511 Main St., Munhall. Prayers were said in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Therese of Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Munhall, with the Rev. Hugh Lang as celebrant. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Louis Phillips, 92, on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001, in Jefferson Center Hospital, Jefferson Hills. He was born in Monongahela on March 20, 1909, the son of the late John (Ivan) and Sophia Korpos Phillips. Mr. Phillips was a battery foreman with U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, retiring after 40 years of service. He was also a member of Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Clairton, American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, Clairton, and Sons of Columbus Santa Maria Council #4, Clairton. Husband of 65 years of Louise (Fazio) Phillips; father of Rosalie M. Phillips of Lakeworth, Fla., Denise L. Phillips-Samay and John A. Phillips, both of Arlington, Va., and Louis J. Phillips of San Francisco; brother of Anne Podlesnik of Library. Also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Julie M. Vergona on May 31, 2001. Visitation Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton. Funeral Liturgy Saturday at noon in Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, Clairton, with the Rev. Ivan Mina as celebrant. Graveside services and burial in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. Memorial contributions may be made to Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, 318 Park Avenue, Clairton, PA 15025.

Kathryn L. Schneider, age 75, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Brinton Manor, Glen Mills, Pa. She was born in October, 1926, in Blawnox, to the late Charles and Faye Beaver Roach. Kathryn worked for 15 years at American Roller Bearing Co. in RIDC Park, O'Hara, as a secretary, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Hampton Presbyterian Church and a former member of Hoboken Presbyterian Church of Blawnox. She is survived by her daughter, Elaine S. Vogeley of Glen Mills; her son, Jacob C. Schneider of Elkton, Md.; and four grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob L. Schneider. Friends received Saturday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the HERBERT R. KING FUNERAL HOME, INC., Route 8 at 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park (Hampton), (www.kingfuneralhome.com), where services will be following visitation at 1 p.m. The Rev. Bob Breed will officiate. Walter T. Valkavitch, age 79, on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, in UPMC Passavant, McCandless. He was born in Harwick, Pa., Nov. 7, 1921, son of the late Stanley and Josephine (Zak) Valkavitch. In addition to his parents, Mr. Valkavitch was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Buckley) Valkavitch, and a brother, Stanley Valkavitch. He is survived by two children, Valerie Valkavitch, and Gary L. Valkavitch and his wife Patricia, all of Ross; three grandchildren, Krista, Gary Jr. and Michelle; and a sister, Helen Babyak of Cheswick. Walter was the original owner of Wally's Pizza in Millvale and Springdale. He was a member of P.N.A. Federation Lodge and a World War II veteran. Family will receive friends Thursday 1 to 9 p.m. in the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 388 Center Ave., West View, where a blessing service will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. The Rev. Robert A. Norton of St. Athanasius Church will officiate. Interment in Allegheny County Memorial Park.

William E. Bushyager Jr., 51, of San Diego, Calif., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a son of William E. Bushyager and his birth mother, Catherine B. Bushyager. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Bushyager, in 1997; and by his birth mother, in 1974. He is survived by his father, William Bushyager, and his stepmother, Kathryn C. Bushyager, of 111 Highland Drive, Jeannette. Interment was in San Diego, Calif.

Marguerite Jane Davis Clayton, 82, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 29, 1918, in Irwin, a daughter of the late William and Catherine Downes Davis. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Irwin, the Women's Missionary Society and the Alpha Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Morris Clayton; and two brothers, Norman C. and William D. Davis. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara Morgan and her husband, Vincent, of Pinnellas Park, Fla., Kathy Knapp and her husband, Robert, of Greensburg and Patricia Whoolery and her husband, Brad, of Phillipsburg; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Davis of Ohio; a sister, Gene Hoff of Massachusetts; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert L. Bunnell officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.

Emma L. Desport, 94, of Latrobe, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, in the New Derry residence of her son. She was born Sept. 25, 1907, in Wortz, a daughter of the late John and Magdalene (Lakovich) Klosnick. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe, and the C.F.U. Lodge 354. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Desport; a son, George; two brothers, John and Stephen Klosnick; and three sisters, Anne Demangone, Barbara Mule and Frances Weaver. She is survived by two sons, Victor S. and his wife, Joyce Desport, and John A. and his wife, Marie, all of New Derry; a daughter, Lillian L. and her husband, Stephen Moonis, of Latrobe; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Desport of Latrobe; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment

Beloved mother and best friend of Phyllis Petriga of Swisshelm Park; beloved and proud grandmother of Kathleen Petriga of Florida; sister of Estelle Bryner, Jean Rusch, Judson Bryner, Milton Bryner, Charles Bryner and the late Grace Weichel, June Arndt and Albert Bryner. Helen R. Fox, 83, of Jeannette, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born May 10, 1918, a daughter of the late Jay and Carrie Sadler Anderson. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Robertshaw. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Stanton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fox, in 1999; and a son-in-law, Ronald McCabe. Survivors include two daughters, Gloria J. Hunt and husband, Tom, of Lycippus and Patti McCabe of Jeannette; six grandchildren, Bonnie Myers and husband, Todd, of Lycippus, Billy Baird of Youngwood, Cheri McCormick and husband, John, of Hunker, Lisa A. DePalma and husband, David, Alan G. Close and Rhonda R. Williams and husband, Ronn, all of Jeannette; eight great-grandchildren, Melissa Dunlop, Heidi Dunlop, Joseph Myers, Miranda Myers, Emily DePalma, Christiana DePalma, Austin Williams and Alan Michael Close; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N.
