ANNA CATHERINE ZRUNO
Anna Catherine Zruno, 91, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. She was born June 2, 1908, in Hannastown, a daughter of the late Stephan and Anna Kuvilich Yusko. She was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, the Rosary Altar Society and the Living Rosary Society, both of St. Bruno Church. She had been a volunteer kitchen worker for 50 years at St. Bruno Church and a volunteer at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was a member of the Ladies Jednota Lodge Branch 277. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Zruno, in 1969; by a son, Thomas A. Zruno, in 1993; and by two brothers, John and Stephan Yusko. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Robert (Rita) Herd of Greensburg; four granddaughters, Tamra and her husband, Chuck Wilson, Risa and her husband, Kurt Williams, Toni and her husband, Jeffrey Rankin, and Joyce and her husband, Michael Adamcyk; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Zahorchak of Luxor and Mary Mignogna of Jeannette; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Bruno Catholic Church, South Greensburg, with the Rev. Blane L. Resko, O.S.B., as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The Rosary Altar Society will meet at the funeral home Friday at 3 p.m. to pray the rosary. Family suggests memorial contributions to St. Anne Home, 685 Angela Drive, Greensburg, PA 15601.

DELFINO P. CALVO
Delfino P. Calvo, 77, of Latrobe (Mechesneytown), died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Aug. 13, 1922, in New Derry, a son of the late Guiseppi and Merchiolina (Calvo) Calvo. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was a teacher of instrumental music at the Derry Area High School, where he had over 42 years of service. He was also a member and chief negotiator for the Derry Area Education Association. Del was a 1939 graduate of the Indiana Area High School, and a 1941 graduate of the Ernest Williams Professional School of Music in Ithaca, N.Y. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army during World War II, and played in the Army Air Corps band stationed at Bolling Field in Washington, D.C. This band played at all State Department and related national functions. After being discharged from the service, he received his bachelor's degree in music from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his Master's of Music Education from Duquesne University. He was a member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church, the church chancel choir, the Willing Workers of the church, and, along with his wife, delivered Meals on Wheels. Del was a member of the Greensburg Musical Society Local 339, and played in the Del Mar Quintet Dance Band. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise (Krisak) Calvo, in 1983; and a brother, Raymond Calvo. He is survived by his wife, Susannah M. (Jones) Calvo, whom he married in 1984; two children, Deleen L. DeMary and her husband, Don, of Norvelt and Daniel J. Calvo and his wife, Mary Ann, of Hopkinton, Mass.; his stepmother, Alda (Psenda) Calvo of Corteranzo, Province of Alessandria, Italy; four grandchildren, Michael Nicol and his wife, Katherine, Brock Smith, Tim Smith and Colleen Calvo; two sisters, Mary Costanzo and her husband, Luigi, of Milan, Italy, and Sylvia Paracca and her husband, Pierangelo, of Valdellatorre, Province of Torino, Italy; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends were received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held at noon Friday in Unity Chapel, Unity Township, with the Rev. Dr. David B. Batchelder officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delfino P. Calvo Memorial Music Fund, in care of Derry Area High School, 982 Chestnut St. Extension, Derry PA 15627.

CLAIRE A. FUNK
Claire A. Funk, 74, of Jeannette, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Penn Township, a daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Klingensmith Woll. She was a member of the Alliance Church of Jeannette and the AARP. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Funk; and three sisters, Alma Peer, Evelyn Brown and Esther Woll. She is survived by two sisters, Rose Marie Bundgard of Mt. Pleasant and Geraldine Gregory of Greensburg; a sister-in-law, Stella Barkefelt of Jeannette; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Bruce Theakston officiating. Interment will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery in Plum Borough.

MARY SUE (BOVINGTON) JOHNSON
Mary Sue (Bovington) Johnson, 70, of Mt. Lebanon, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dec. 4, 1928, to the late John R. and Helen Pettibone. She graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts in 1951; married C. Bayard Johnson Jr. in 1958; and settled in Pittsburgh in 1971. She is survived by her loving husband, Bayard; daughters and sons-in-law, Cam and Greg Allen of Mt. Lebanon and Gail Johnson and Tim Elgren of Clinton, N.Y.; daughter, Molly Johnson of Seattle, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, Bayard and Karen Johnson of St. Louis, Mo.; and six grandchildren, Robby, Brad, Scott, Ruth, Ben and Bay. She is also survived by her brother, John R. Bovington of Cleveland, Ohio. She was a dedicated, active grandmother, a member of Southminster Presbyterian Church and active in numerous church and community activities, including Southminster choir, women's hand bell team and AFS student exchange. Her family gratefully acknowledges the outpouring of support throughout the past few months from friends near and far, as well as the caring guidance and support of the Family Hospice. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon. Sue expressed wishes that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southminster Presbyterian Church music program, Mt. Lebanon, Pa., the Mt. Lebanon Public Library or Family Hospice, Mt. Lebanon.

BETTY MacDONALD
Betty MacDonald, 90, of Ligonier, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in the Bethlen Home in Ligonier Township. She was born June 29, 1909, in Portskerra, Scotland, a daughter of the late Norman and Elizabeth Belford MacKay. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. MacDonald, on Sept. 17, 1988; a son, Alexander W. MacDonald, on Dec. 10, 1995; and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frederick (Norma C.) Thomas of Newark, Ohio, and Mrs. Richard (Betty Joan) Matson of Ligonier RD1; a son, Robert H. MacDonald of Virginia Beach, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 27, at 1 p.m. at her former residence, 501 N. St. Clair St., Ligonier. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlen Home Activities Fund. Arrangements by McCABE FUNERAL HOME, Derry.

LOUISE (BLYSTONE) MENSCH
Louise (Blystone) Mensch, 75, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, at her home in Richland, Mich. Formerly of the Mt. Pleasant area, she was a daughter of the late Irene and Kenneth Blystone. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford A. Mensch; a sister, Adah Belle Kampitch; and a brother, Darrell T. Blystone. She is survived by her sons, Clifford Mensch of California, John Mensch and Kenneth Mensch of Michigan; daughters, Lena Koger of Galesburg, Mich., and Cathy Banks of Cadillac, Mich.; a brother, Robert J. Blystone of Hancock, Md.; and a sister, Phyllis Carns of Greensburg. She is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at FARLEY-ESTES & DOWDLE FUNERAL HOME, Richland, Mich. Interment followed at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

MARY R. DIVELEY PRITTS
Mary R. Diveley Pritts, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, in Mt. Gilead, Ohio. She was born Sept. 12, 1918, in Aberdeen, S.D., a daughter of the late Merl D. and Gladys Njos Diveley. She was a member of Mt. Joy Church of the Brethren. Mary was a graduate of Meyersdale High School, Class of 1936. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold O. Pritts, in 1984; and a brother, Merl D. Diveley, in 1997. She is survived by two sons, Wayne Pritts of Villa Ridge, Mo., and Merl Pritts and wife, Fay, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Karen Goswick and husband, Arthur, of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; a brother, Victor E. Diveley and wife, Priscilla, of North Scituate, R.I.; three sisters, Esther Johnson of Garrett, Pa., Betty Bungard of Meyersdale, Pa., and Helen Wagner of Salisbury, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Durward E. Hays and the Rev. Charles D. Whipple co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.

OTTO L. SAUNIER JR.
Otto L. Saunier Jr., 61, of Moon Township, on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. Beloved husband of CarolAnn Davis Saunier. Father of Brian and his wife, Lynn Saunier, and Beth and her husband, Bernie Herrmann. Brother of Patricia Wall. Also, eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at COPELAND'S MOON TOWNSHIP, 981 Brodhead Road. Funeral Saturday at 9 a.m. Mass in St. Margaret Mary Church at 9:30 a.m.

M. BLANCHE SHAFFER
M. Blanche Shaffer, 81, of Penn Run, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at Indiana Hospital. Daughter of Edward Barr and Vernie Johns Barr, she was born June 13, 1918, in Heilwood. Mrs. Shaffer lived all of her life in Indiana County and worked as a secretary and salesperson for Ager Appliances, Indiana. She was a member of First Christian Church, Pine Flats, Penn Run Senior Citizens, and many community affairs. Mrs. Shaffer is survived by a daughter, Janet Ager of Jeannette; two brothers, William Barr of Indiana and Charles Barr of Diamondville; a sister, Joette Shaffer of Indiana; two grandchildren, Kevin Ager and Kelly Weightman; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Paige Ager. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale H. Shaffer; two brothers, Clair and John Barr; a sister, Elizabeth Cramer; and two grandsons, Brian and Curtis Ager. Friends were received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at ROBINSON-LYTLE INC., Indiana, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Randy L. Elsea officiating. Interment will be in Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery.

JENNIE MARIE SHRADER
Jennie Marie Shrader, 94, of South Greensburg, died Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999, at her home. She was born Nov. 19, 1904, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late Francis and Beulah Quick Albert. She was a member of the South Greensburg United Methodist Church, the Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Auxiliary Association, and a former member of the Dames of Malta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Shrader; and two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Shrader Mates and Mrs. Beulah Shrader Hale. She is survived by her son, Clarence R. Shrader and his wife, Elizabeth, of South Greensburg; five grandchildren, Clarence R. Shrader Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Jeffrey A. Shrader and Mrs. Karen Hillwig, both of Greensburg, Mrs. Kathie Mates Harper of South Greensburg, and Mrs. Renee Harrity of Harrison City; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Shrader was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Friends were received at the COSHEY-NICHOLSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas D. Hindman officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the South Greensburg United Methodist Church, 411 Sheridan Ave., Greensburg, PA 15601. Alvin P. Oskin Jr., funeral director, in charge of arrangements.
