Homer Huhn Jr.
Latrobe
Homer Huhn Jr., 83, of Latrobe, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born June 3, 1918, in Uniontown, a son of the late Homer and Nellie (Hostetler) Huhn. Homer was a 1938 graduate of the former Hearst High School in Mt. Pleasant Township and attended Pennsylvania State University. He owned and operated a textile service firm in Mt. Pleasant until 1955, when he became tax clerk of Westmoreland County, where he established the county's first mechanized tax writing system. He became chief clerk and secretary to the Board of County Commissioners in 1964 and the board's administrative assistant in 1968. He also served as vice chairman of the Westmoreland County Municipal Water Authority, organized and served as president of the State Association of County Clerks and County Commissioners and was a member of the State Association of Secretaries. Homer was very active with the Benevolent and Protective Order of EIks, beginning with his initiation into the Mt. Pleasant B.P.O.E. Lodge 868 in 1941, being elected Exalted Ruler of the lodge in 1952, serving as trustee until 1955 and then lodge secretary for 11 years. He then became active in the Pennsylvania State Elks Association, serving as district treasurer, district president and chairman of the District Advisory Committee. He was elected president of the Pennsylvania State Elks Association in 1964 and became State Association secretary in 1966. In 1971, Homer was named to the position of grand secretary of the National Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, serving over 1.6 million members. He continued in that function until 1977, when he was elected leader of the order, Grand Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America. Locally, Homer was a member of the Charter Oak United Methodist Church, Unity Township, Marion Lodge 562, F&AM in Scottdale and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge 386. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Mertz. He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years, Josephine (Hydock) Huhn; a brother, Herman Huhn and his wife, Louise, of Latrobe; three sisters, Ella Mae Tepper and her husband, Tom, of Latrobe, Mable Watson and her husband, Charles, of Toms River, N.J., Roberta Elleard of Richmond, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, the Rev. David Eversdyke, officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.

Frances (Shuster) Yelochan
Export
Frances (Shuster) Yelochan, 85, died in her home in Export (Breezewood Heights), on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001. She had recently been stricken by acute leukemia. She was born in Iselin, Indiana County, on March 4, 1916, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Havartin Shuster. Prior to retirement in 1999, she had been the proprietor of Faye's Beauty Salon in Breezewood Heights. Faye was an avid outdoor person and loved to travel, often visiting her out-of-state children and grandchildren. She was an excellent baker and cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, in 1978; three sisters, Mary Perla, Sophie Giardina and Rose Yelochan; and four brothers, Stanley, Joseph, Edward and her twin brother, Frank. She is survived by three children, June Laverne Drew of Ft. Myers, Fla., Marlene Frances Semple of Wilmington, N.C., and Edward Ronald of Baltimore, Md.; five grandchildren, Dawn Drew Gubanich of Cape Coral, Fla., Danielle Drew Hilliard of Greensburg, Jeff Drew of Lake Worth, Fla., Emily Katherine Howard of BelAir, Md., and Lauren Frances Semple of Wilmington, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Zachary and Mya Hilliard of Greensburg, David Gubanich Jr. of Cape Coral and Tia Drew of Lake Worth; a brother, John Shuster of North Versailles; and a sister, Ann Kocheran of Duquesne. She will be missed by extended family members: David Drew of Youngwood, James Semple of Wilmington, Scott Hilliard of Greensburg, Dave Gubanich of Cape Coral and Rosemary (Ten) Drew of Lake Worth. Mrs. Yelochan's family will receive friends at the BASH-NIED FUNERAL HOME, 152 Abbe Place, Delmont, 724-468-8381, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a Funeral Mass at St. John Baptist de la Salle Church, Delmont, Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Donald J. Mondella as celebrant. A chapel committal service will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

Fae L. Stokum 74, of Export died Oct. 18, 2000.
Born March 24, 1926, in Middletown, she was the daughter of John and Ruth Bowers Gross.
Mrs. Stokum was a part-time employee of Franklin Regional Food Service.
She was a volunteer for many years at Forbes Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Stokum was a member of Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ of Export, Golden Age Club of Murrysville and AARP.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Stokum Jr.
Surviving are his children, Barbara Hollahan of Greensburg, Nancy Piser of Export, Daniel Stokum of West Virginia, Carol Shafer of Export, Thomas Stokum of Claridge, Diane Holmes of Cheswick, Susan Yackovich of Greensburg and Janet Delission of Delmont; a sister, Ethel Brandt of Middletown; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at John T. Hart Funeral Home.
Interment was at Emmanuel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Emmanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Export, or to Medi-Home Health Care, 722 Long Run Rd., McKeesport, Pa. 15132.

Stella "Sally" Lauer
Stella "Sally" Lauer, 63, of Murrysville, on Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999. Born Aug. 2, 1936, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Irvin and Stella Welsh Rittko. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel; two brothers, Howard and Theodore Rittko; and three sisters, Edith Creighton, Alice Zimmerman, and Mildred Wilcox, who just passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9. Surviving are her husband, John B. Lauer; a brother, Irvin Rittko and wife, Gladys, of Export; and two sisters, Ella Soles and May Hill and husband, Frank, both of Murrysville. Friends were received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Thursday and and will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Gregory B. Held officiating. Interment Restland Memorial Park.

MILDRED F. WILCOX
Mildred F. Wilcox, 76, of Murrysville, on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999. Born Jan. 19, 1923, in Braddock, a daughter of the late Irvin and Stella Welsh Rittko. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Theodore; and two sisters, Edith Creighton and Alice Zimmerman. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Merle D. Wilcox; two sons, Merle D. Jr. "Pete" and wife, Judy, of Plum and Harry A. and wife, Linda, of Somerset; a daughter, Renee Baker and husband, Russell, of New Kensington; a brother, Irvin Rittko and wife, Gladys, of Export; three sisters, Ella Soles, Sally Lauer and husband, John, and May Hill and husband, Frank, all of Murrysville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends were received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services Friday at 11 a.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export, with the Rev. Gregory B. Held officiating. Interment Twin Valley Memorial Park. Family prefers memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Export.

BRONWEN E. BRANTHOOVER
Bronwen E. "Bonnie" Branthoover, 78, of Export RD8, (Washington Township), died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, in the Beverly Health Care/Murrysville nursing home. Born February 22, 1921, in Johnstown, she graduated from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1943, and was employed as the Washington Township School District's first supervisor of music. She was a member of the Poke Run Presbyterian Church in Mamont and, for a number of years, was the church organist and choir director. For many years, she taught private piano lessons in her home, and often served as organist for several other area churches. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert M. Branthoover; four children: Cindy Branthoover of Miami, Fla., Jeff Branthoover of Export RD2, Marianne Kapustik and her husband, Jim, of Vandergrift, and Gary R. Branthoover of Delmont; and two granddaughters, Kristen and Heather Magee of Vandergrift. Funeral arrangements are private. Should friends desire, memorial remembrances may be made in Mrs. Branthoover's name to a charity of choice. JOHN L. WILLIAM F. CALDWELL
William F. "Popeye" Caldwell, 81, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 1999, at home. He was born June 13, 1918, in Hempfield Township, a son of the late Albert and Anna Eisaman Caldwell. He was a retired employee of Union Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 359, Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sarah Jane Smith in 1982; six brothers, Walter, Richard, Robert, James, Carl and Wayne Caldwell; and two sisters, Isabelle Caldwell and Olive Roygor. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Lentz Caldwell; a son, Charles W. Caldwell of Georgia; two grandchildren, Charles W. Smith and Shara E. Smith; a sister, Sara Bollinger of Charleston, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Baer officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.

HARRY REGRUT
Harry Regrut, 82, of Murrysville, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999. He was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Braddock, a son of the late Peter and Mary Bohin Regrut. He was a retired machinist for Union Switch and Signal, Swissvale, with 40 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville. Also, he was a life member of the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the American Legion, Export. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Silvasy Regrut; four brothers and a sister, Michael, Steven, John and Andrew Regrut, and Mary Jancisin. He is survived by three daughters, Marita Beall and husband, Jim, of Pittsburgh, Geraldine Malloy and husband, Dan, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Christine Gorman and husband, Tom, of Cincinnati, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; and three sisters, Ann Pavlik of East Pittsburgh, Irene Regrut of Swissvale, and Helen Grant of St. Louis, Mo. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville. Interment will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to the Murrysville Volunteer Fire Co., or the Forbes Hospice, 500 Finley St., Pittsburgh, PA 15206.
