Verna Kapura Yesho, 88, of Mutual, died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, in Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born April 15, 1913, in Mutual, a daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Hanosky Kapura. Verna was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church of United and its Altar Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Jednota. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1963; and the following brothers and sisters: Joseph Kapura, Anna Elwood, Margaret Urban, Marie Hudak, Kathryn Trapletti and Michael Kapura. She is survived by the following children: Helen Jupena of Greensburg, Julius Yesho and his wife, Frances, of Mt. Pleasant, Robert Yesho and his wife, Gertrude, of Jeannette, Francis Yesho and his wife, Kathy, of Derry, William Yesho and his wife, Karlene, of Mt. Pleasant Township and Jo Ann Yesho of South Greensburg; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, John Kapura of Norvelt; and a sister, Mrs. Walter (Betty) Banko of Everson. Friends will be received at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10:20 a.m., followed by her Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11 a.m. in the St. Florian Catholic Church with the Rev. John M. Foriska as celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger. A wake service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 7 p.m. Sandra L. Hoffer, funeral director.

John Duane Rough, 78, of Dawson, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2001, at 9:50 p.m., in Hempfield Manor, Greensburg. Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 E. Independence St., Perryopolis, Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 1 p.m., the hour of service. Interment to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis. Graveside military rites will be accorded by the U.S. Marines.

Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, 724-887-5300, Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from noon to 2 p.m. A funeral service celebrating his graduation into Glory will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastors Bob Chambers and Dave Shively co-officiating. Harry J. Pfeifer, 82, of Latrobe RD7, died Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Bradenville, a son of the late Harry J. Pfeifer Sr. and Cecilia Toman Pfeifer. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe. He was retired from Standard Steel Co., Latrobe, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater of Operations. Also, he was a member of the American Legion Post #515, Latrobe, the DAV of Greensburg, the Junior Mechanics of Greensburg, and the Frontier Club of Latrobe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Pfeifer. Survived by his wife, Rita D. Miconi Pfeifer; a son, Thomas Pfeifer and his wife, Linda, of Florida; a brother, Kenneth Pfeifer of Latrobe; two sisters, Mildred Skrovec of McKeesport and Faye Holnaider of Latrobe; a grandson, Jason Pfeifer and his wife, Michelle, of Latrobe; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Latrobe, with the Trinity clergy officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. Military services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
CHRISTIAN SHANE SKOVIRA
Christian Shane Skovira, infant son of Michael E. and Jennifer L. (Elder) Skovira of Latrobe RD4 (Cook Township), died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Brett Allen Skovira. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Michael, Samuel and Colin; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Betty Skovira of Acme RD1; maternal grandparents, Tom and Connie Elder of Greensburg; and maternal great-grandmothers, Virginia Troy and Catherine Wineland, both of Greensburg. A private graveside service will be held this morning in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
Emma M. Bugosh, 79, of Scottdale, died early Saturday morning, Nov. 20, 1999, in St. Andrews Village, Indiana, Pa. She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Everson, a daughter of the late Martin and Mary Komar Pervoy. She was a longtime faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Scottdale. Emma was a member of the Everson Senior Citizens organization and the Eureka Grange of Alverton. She was a retired cafeteria manager for Southmoreland School District, with 20 years of service. Emma leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted children, Judy Zuzak and her husband, Edmund, of Blairsville, Michael Bugosh and his wife, Barbara, of New Albany, Ohio, and Susan Cope and her husband, Edward, of Uniontown; nine grandchildren, Monica Pentrack, Edmund Zuzak, Beth John, Jeffrey Ferguson, Deanna Corbitt, Christopher Bugosh, Wendy Bugosh, and Mark and Justin Cope; three great-grandchildren, Michael Pentrack, Lauren Pentrack and Brenna John; two sisters, Mrs. Philip (Elizabeth) Colombo of New York and Mrs. Thomas (Irene) Hall of Paradise, Calif.; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Bugosh in August 1958; a daughter, Veronica Bugosh in August 1972; four sisters, Margaret Dorchock, Rose Smith, Catherine Kennedy and Helen Bellitto; and two brothers, John Pervoy and Paul Pervoy. Emma's family will receive friends in the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Flora Belle Cortese Blackburn Sherbondy, 86, of Hempfield Towers in Hempfield Township, passed away Wednesday evening, Nov. 17, 1999, at 7:21 p.m. in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Carolyn Marie Supancic Bold, 86, of Penn, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare, Murrysville. She was born Jan. 28, 1913, in Claridge, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Lazar Supancic. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Penn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leo Bold; a son, Alan; two brothers, John and Frank Supancic; and a sister, Mollie Supancic. Survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Price and her husband, Richard, of Forest Hills and Alberta Cervenak and her husband, Ron, of Murrysville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete and Bill Supancic, both of Claridge; two sisters, Annie Rednock of Export and Elsie Freustorfer of Bethel Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, Penn. Sister Jean Frances Peters, S.C., 87, a former teacher and volunteer in services to the elderly, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at Caritas Christi, the Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity, Greensburg. Born July 7, 1912, in Yukon, the daughter of the late Otto and Margaret (Gillespie) Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Regis. An alumna of St. Joseph Academy, she gained her Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from Duquesne University in 1949. She entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill from St. Lawrence O'Toole Parish, Pittsburgh, on Dec. 8, 1931. Sister taught middle and upper elementary students in the Dioceses of Pittsburgh, Greensburg and Tucson, Ariz., and in Bethesda, Md. Later, she served as a volunteer at Kane Hospital and participated in the Senior Companion Program sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging. Sister Jean Frances retired in 1995 and returned to Greensburg in 1997. Friends will be received Monday from 1:30 to 6:45 p.m. at Caritas Christi, Mt. Thor Road, Greensburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Assumption, Caritas Christi. Interment in Sisters' Cemetery, Seton Hill, Greensburg. Alice M. Ward Ralph, 87, of Greencastle, Pa., died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999. She was born Jan. 8, 1912, in Shafton, a daughter of the late Thomas Edison and Anna Marie (Clark) Ward. She was a homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Irwin, and the Ladies Auxiliary F.O.E. #1671, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Ralph; a brother, William Ward; and a sister, Margaret Hawk. Survived by a son, Ronald G. Ralph and wife, Phyllis, of Greencastle; a grandson, Ronald L. Ralph of Greensburg; and a great-granddaughter, Brook Painter. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. Melvina I. Gross, 71, of Jeannette, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at home. She was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Muriel Walters Gray. She was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Floyd, and Walter Gray; and three sisters, Ida Lyon, Thelma Andrews and Patricia Slonacher. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Gross, of Jeannette; a son, Marc Gross, of Verona; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Brenda) Santioni, of Jacksonville, Fla.; a granddaughter, Darlene Santioni; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Santioni; a brother, Frank Gray Jr., of Norvelt; a sister, Hilda Ehalt, of Monroeville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
