GLADYS C. METCALF
Gladys C. Metcalf, 86, of Mt. Pleasant RD5, formerly of Connellsville, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Nov. 1, 1913, in Bullskin Township, the daughter of the late Norman and Zettie Whipkey Lilly. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Evangelical Church of North America, and a charter member of the Bullskin Township Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Metcalf, on Dec. 30, 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Moore and husband, Robert, of DeBary, Fla., and Wanita Miller and husband, Daniel, of Mt. Pleasant RD5; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Patton officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Sandra L. Hoffer, funeral director.

GEORGE JURCEVICH SR.
George Jurcevich Sr., 75, of West Newton (Sewickley Pines Manor), died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 1999, at his home. He was born Oct. 19, 1924, in Port Vue, a son of the late Michael and Mary (Cindric) Jurcevich. George was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army as a medic in the Philippines. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a crane operator by Operating Engineers Local 66. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony "Tony," in July 1996; two sisters, Mary Jurcevich and Katie Sadosky; and a brother, John Jurcevich. George is survived by his wife, Lois (Zunic) Jurcevich; four sons, Ronald and his wife, Ann, of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, Michael and his wife, Colette, of Sutersville, Gary and his wife, Darlene, of Arona, and George and his wife, Mary Ann Jurcevich, of Hutchinson; two daughters, Gloria Siddiqui of Houston, Texas, and Mary Lou and her husband, Rick Persinger, of Glen Burnie, Md.; a brother, Frank and his wife, Mary Jurcevich, of Waynesburg; a sister, Elizabeth and her husband, Regis DeCarme, of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. There will be no public visitation. A private family memorial will be held for Mr. Jurcevich. JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Herminie, in charge of arrangements.

RONALD D. DVORCAK SR.
Ronald D. "Butch" Dvorcak Sr., 57, of Hunker RD1, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Monroeville. He was born Sept. 16, 1942, in Standard Shaft, a son of the late John W. and Ersie E. King Dvorcak. He was employed by Fisher Pontiac of Export. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Cunningham Dvorcak; a son, Ronald D. Dvorcak Jr. of Greensburg; a daughter, Mrs. Kevin (Pam) Rafferty of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Shaneyfelt of New Stanton; aunt, Ella Mae Johnson of Mt. Pleasant, and an uncle and aunt, George and Catherine King of Mt. Pleasant; and three grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert J. and Thomas G. Dvorcak. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, where a funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Dr. Rev. Dale L. Porterfield officiating.

ANNALEE FLACK
Annalee Flack, 75, of Latrobe, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in IHS at Mountain View. She was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Derry, the daughter of the late Harry F. and Irma (Merritt) Fenneman. Prior to her retirement, Annalee was the treasurer/manager for the Vasco Federal Credit Union in Latrobe. She was a member of the Latrobe United Methodist Church and the B.P.O.E. #907 Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Glenn Fenneman. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, W. Milton Flack; her son, Terry L. Flack and his wife, Deborah, of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, Timothy and Ashley Flack; and her sister-in-law, Grace Dibb and her husband, Philip, of Jamestown, N.Y. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with her pastor, the Rev. Aimee W. Twigg, officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township.

EDNA KING
Edna King, 86, of Delmont, formerly of Casselberry, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in her home. Complete funeral arrangements will be announced by the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge of arrangements.

VIRGINIA GAYLE SUTER RUSSELL
Virginia Gayle Suter Russell, 72, formerly of Ruffsdale, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 18, 1999, in the Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, N.J. Virginia was born at Ruffsdale in East Huntingdon Township, Sept. 11, 1927, a daughter of the late Silas Bryan and Hemmaline Frick Suter, who passed away Jan. 1, 1977, and June 24, 1978, respectively. Virginia was a former member of the Ruffsdale Lutheran Church and a graduate of East Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1945. While residing at Freeport in the Bahamas with her late husband, Harry Russell, she was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, taught Sunday school, and was a volunteer for the local orphanage and cancer institute. Virginia is survived by a daughter, Patricia Szerlip; and a son, Randy Lanigan, both of Livingston, N.J.; two grandchildren, Lauren and Bryan; two brothers, Robert B. Suter and his wife, Dorothy, and James H. Suter and his wife, Eileen, all of Ruffsdale RD2; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Russell, on Aug. 17, 1992; a son, Dennis Clark Lanigan, in 1959; and a sister, Nancy Suter Beck, on Dec. 9, 1981. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Sherry Miller, pastor of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery at Tarrs. MICHAEL T. PISHKO
Dr. Michael T. Pishko, 90, of Pinehurst, N.C., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Quail Haven. Born Sept. 27, 1909, in Monessen, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anne Hyrula Pishko. He is survived by his sister, Alberta Simon of Pinehurst, N.C.; two brothers, Boris Pishko of Monessen and George Pishko of New Kensington; and 13 nieces and nephews. Dr. Pishko practiced medicine in Moore County, N.C., for more than 50 years, and delivered over 12,000 babies - roughly equal to the combined population of Pinehurst and Southern Pines. At one time, he delivered 100 babies in one month. After graduating from Monessen High School, Dr. Pishko enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh to pursue his premedical studies. In 1932, he entered Duke University Medical School, graduating in 1936. During his senior year at Duke, he worked under Dr. Clement Monroe at Moore County Hospital as a junior intern. After a brief internship at Pittsburgh Hospital, Dr. Pishko returned to Moore County to continue practicing medicine. In his initial years at Moore Regional, he practiced emergency room duty, surgery, general medicine, and gynecology, which eventually became his specialty, along with obstetrics. He was head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology for over 30 years. Upon his retirement in 1980, the hospital dedicated that department in his name and honor. Throughout the years, he attended classes and symposiums at Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Columbia and Duke universities. He had held positions including: president at Moore County Medical Society, chief of staff at Moore Regional and president of the Fifth District Medical Society. He was a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. For many years, Dr. Pishko served on the board of directors of the Pinehurst BB&T Bank. He was a member of the Pinehurst Community Presbyterian Church, and served as a deacon and an elder. He was a member of the Country Club of North Carolina, the Pinehurst Country Club, and the Tin Whistles. Dr. Pishko and his late wife, Betty Delaney Pishko, supported a large number of civic organizations and activities. Dr. Pishko was awarded the Kiwanis Builders Cup and the Rotary Club Four-Way Test Award. Funeral services were held Friday in Community Presbyterian Church, Pinehurst, N.C., with Dr. M. Bennett Bishop III as officiant. Burial Pinelawn Memorial Park, Southern Pines, N.C. Memorials may be made to the First Health Moore Regional Building Fund, P.O. Box 3000, Pinehurst, NC 28370.

JOHN H. SUCHORA JR.
John H. Suchora Jr., 53, of Jeannette, died Sunday, Dec. 19, 1999, at his residence. He was born Feb. 24, 1946, in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late John H. Suchora Sr. and Blanche Faroux Suchora. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church of Jeannette; a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the U.S. Navy; and a member of the American Legion Post 344 of Jeannette. He is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. THERE WILL BE NO PUBLIC VISITATION. A private interment will take place in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hempfield Township. HELEN D. ALTMAN
Helen D. Altman, 72, of Greensburg, died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Eli and Mary Sapola Kelly. Helen was a graduate of St. Joseph's Academy, Seton Hill, Class of 1945. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel G. Loyacona; and a sister, Isabel M. Swift. She is survived by her husband, Paul F. Altman of Greensburg; four sons, Samuel A. Loyacona and wife, Darlene, Edward R. Loyacona and Patrick J. Loyacona, all of Greensburg, and James K. Loyacona of New Stanton; two grandchildren, Samantha Jo and Nicholas; a sister, Mary Agnes Nelson and husband, Robert, of Greensburg; a brother, George Kelly and wife, Patricia, of Norvelt; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, (724) 837-0020, Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. Natale N. Pantalone, funeral director.

WALTER R. BURKARDT
Walter R. Burkardt, 50, of Latrobe, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999, at his residence. He was born May 17, 1949, in Johnstown, a son of Jane Frances Murton Burkardt and the late Walter R. Burkardt. He was employed by Newcomer Products and was a member of F.O.E. #01188. He had served in the U.S. Navy. Survived by his son, Brian Burkardt and his wife, Gwen, of Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter, Montana Burkardt of Charlotte, N.C.; his mother; his brothers and sisters, David Burkardt and his wife, Patricia, of Latrobe, Mrs. Dale (Kathleen) Laughlin of Greensburg, Mrs. John (Elaine) Rahl of Greensburg, and Mark Burkardt and his wife, Lisa, of Latrobe; as well as 12 nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday in St. Vincent Basilica at a time to be announced. Interment St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township.
