Julia J. Graham, 89, of Ligonier RD1, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, Fla. Born July 21, 1910, in Patton, Pa., she was a daughter of the late John and Florine Richir Poriez. She was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ and the Oak Grove Civic Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Graham, in 1970; a son, John P. Graham; and a sister, Mary Graham. She is survived by five daughters, Dolores M. Jackson, Elizabeth L. McKlveen and Julia V. Ambrose, all of Ligonier, Loretta R. Wissel of Lincoln, Neb., and Leona M. Moyer of Brooksville, Fla.; two sons, Thomas E. Graham of Ligonier and Howard D. Graham of Cadiz, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lena Matesic of Aliquippa. Friends will be received at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Oak Grove Church of Christ, Ligonier, with the Rev. Charles P. Burd officiating. Interment in Menoher Memorial Park, Ligonier. Memorial gifts may be made to Oak Grove Church of Christ.
Dorothy E. Irwin, 77, of Ruffsdale, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 15, 1922, in Wilkinsburg, she was a daughter of the late Calvin E. and Anna Taylor Burton. She lived in Saltsburg most of her life and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Saltsburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert James Irwin, in 1994; and a brother, James E. Burton. She is survived by three sons, Edward J. Irwin of Yukon, Albert J. Irwin and William C. Irwin, both of Saltsburg; two daughters, Ruth Ann Trice of Ruffsdale and Linda D. Birge of Avonmore; a brother, William Burton of Plum Borough; a sister, Mary Anthony of Hadley; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Arthur J. Lockard officiating. Interment Edgewood Cemetery in Saltsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to American Institute of Cancer Research.
Katherine C. Ivanditty, 87, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, in Greensburg. There will be no public viewing. Services and interment
will be private. KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME of Greensburg in charge of the arrangements.
Annabel West Young, 86, formerly of Latrobe, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000. Born in Youngstown, Pa., she was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe. Surviving are her husband, Frederick G. Young; daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Janice Joy Young) Hutson of Greenville, S.C.; brother, William R. West of Latrobe; two grandchildren, James F. Burns and wife, Kathy, and Wendy Ann Burns; and a great-grandchild, Kelly Marie Burns. She was preceded in death by her parents, John K. and May Alexander West. Memorial service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mary E. "Punk" Adams, 86, of Greensburg, formerly of West Newton, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg. Born Sept. 1, 1913, in West Newton, she was a daughter of the late Amzi F. and Mary I. Kerr Miller. She was a member of the West Newton United Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert E. Adams; a sister, Josephine Miller; and six brothers, John, Samuel, Walter, Allan, Verner and William Miller. She is survived by a sister, Wanda L. Smith of West Newton; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. William A. Sukolsky officiating. Interment in West Newton Cemetery.
Donald E. Bricker, 56, of Scottdale RD1 (Thornwood), passed away Saturday, morning, Jan. 8, 2000, at his residence. Don was born in Mt. Pleasant, Nov. 1, 1943, a son of the late George S. and Ruth Eckman Bricker. He married the former Jane Lazor on May 21, 1966. Don was employed in the maintenance department of Duraloy-Blaw Knox Company, Scottdale, with 33 years of service. He was a member and usher of the St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale, and was a devoted member of the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department Company 4 with over 20 years of service. Don assisted with many fund-raising activities in the fire department and was a member of the Scottdale Firemen's Club, the Pa. State, Western Pa. and Westmoreland County Firemen's Associations. He was a great outdoorsman and had coached the Scottdale Boys Baseball Minor League and Little League teams. He also assisted with the Greater Scottdale Girls Softball League Tournaments and was a graduate of Scottdale High School with the Class of 1961. In addition, he was a social member of the Scottdale VFW Post #7781. Don is survived by his loving family, his wife of 33 years, Jane Lazor Bricker; his two daughters, Dawn Marie Basinger and husband, James, of Mt. Pleasant and Kelli McPherson and husband, Brett, of Huber Heights, Ohio; his son, Jason P. Bricker and wife, Kristie, of Pittsburgh; a grandson, Dalton McPherson, and a granddaughter, Claudia McPherson; a sister, Ruth Eileen Rolla and husband, Gerald, and a brother, Richard L. Bricker and wife, Bernadine, all of Scottdale RD1; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Becky Robeaux of Gales Ferry, Conn. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, George Edward Bricker. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John Byzantine Catholic Church, Scottdale, with the Rev. Father Joseph Borodach as celebrant. Graveside committal services and interment
will follow in the church Cemetery. A Panachida service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. and the Scottdale Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service Sunday at 7 p.m., both in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, in memory of Donald E. Bricker.
Sarah Margaret Craig, 88, a lifelong resident of Greensburg, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2000, in the Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Feb. 6, 1911, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah Ann Whiteside Moon. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church of Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Craig, in 1971. She is survived by two sons, John F. Craig of Greensburg and Winterhaven, Fla., and David K. Craig of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Craig, both of Houston, Texas; and a sister, Ellen Roeder of Greensburg. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m., the time of funeral services in the funeral home with the Rev. Byron T. Eisaman, retired pastor of the Free Methodist Church, officiating. Private interment
will be held Wednesday in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township.
Lucile Henry, 93, of Smithton, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Feb. 7, 1906, in South Huntingdon Township, a daughter of the late Lewis G. and Blanche G. Hough Murren. She was a retired school teacher, having taught for 40 years in the Smithton Borough and South Huntingdon Township schools. She was a member of the West Newton United Presbyterian Church and a member of the P.S.E.A. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry W. Henry. She is survived by a daughter, Diana Henry of Smithton. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second Street, Smithton. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. William Sukolsky officiating. Interment will be in the Hoffman Cemetery, South Huntingdon Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the West Newton United Presbyterian Church.
Marie Delissio Hullenbaugh, 72, of Export, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Born June 17, 1927, in Dunningtown, a daughter of the late Anthony and Nora Balest Delissio. She was retired from the Franklin Regional School District Food Service Department. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William P. "Buster"; and a brother, William Delissio. She is survived by two brothers, Alfred "Alfie" of Penn Hills and Robert Delissio of North Carolina; a sister, Donna Korchok of Slickville; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the EDWIN N. WOLFE FUNERAL HOME INC., Export, Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m., where a blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with Father Dismas Young officiating. Interment in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. The family suggests memorial contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
Alex Jacobs, 87, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2000, at Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Feb. 7, 1912, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Abraham and Esma Corry Jacobs. He was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School with the Class of 1931, and a graduate of the former Greensburg Business School. He was co-owner of the former Jacobs Men's Wear of Mt. Pleasant. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Glosser Bros. at the former Greensburg Gee Bee Department Store. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, and was the recipient of the American Defense Ribbon, the American Theater Ribbon, the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars. Alex also received the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368, both of Mt. Pleasant. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Truman Jacobs; four daughters, Toni Straka and husband, Joseph, of Youngstown, Pa., Cynthia Gowton of Fairless Hills, Paula Sucanic and husband, Daniel, of Mt. Pleasant and Betsy Jacobs Henderson of Fairless Hills; seven grandchildren, Scott Gowton and wife, Lynn, Kevin Gowton, Stacie Straka, Keith Straka, Sarah Straka, Alexis Sucanic and Trisha Sucanic; a great-grandson, Kyle Gowton; and five sisters, Edna Jacobs and Elizabeth Jacobs, both of Mt. Pleasant, Genevieve Miller of Greensburg, Yvonne Jacobs of Mt. Pleasant and Phyllis Adele Pruitt and husband, Frank, of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by four brothers, William "Doc," James, Raymond and Samuel Jacobs; and a sister, Evelyn Kelly. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Very Rev. Father John Nosal officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military rites accorded by the members of the American Legion and the VFW. Trisagion prayers will be sung in the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
