Genevieve G. Gregor Randall, 79, of Acme, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, at her home. She was born Nov. 16, 1920, in Acme, a daughter of the late John and Catherine Busko Gregor. She was a member of St. Raymond of the Mountains Roman Catholic Church, Donegal, and the Rosary Altar Society. She was also an active member of the White Senior Citizens. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Edward, Thomas, John and Lee Gregor. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harry J. Randall; a son, Richard W. Randall and his wife, Gloria, of Acme; two daughters, Nancy J. Poole and her husband, Donald, of Youngwood and S. Catherine Peters and her husband, Donald, of Arlington, Va.; four grandchildren, Dr. Randall A. Poole, Susan Lynn Schuerman and her husband, John, Lisa R. Randall and Jennifer D. Peters; three great-grandchildren, Brandon and Nathan Schuerman, and Noah Randall Kauffman; three brothers, Joseph Gregor of Latrobe, Robert Griger and his wife, Mary, of Indian Head, and Eugene Gregor of Irwin; three sisters, Major Clara C. Gregor, Retired, of Blue Bell, Pa., Jean Paulin of Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Loretta Sparks and her husband, Richard, of Indian Head. Friends will be received in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Raymond of the Mountains R.C. Church, Donegal, with the Rev. John Harrold as celebrant and also participating the Rev. Terry Trudgen. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery, Saltlick Township.
Floyd I. Shirey Jr., 70, of Greensburg RD7 (Unity Township), died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born July 9, 1929, in Latrobe, a son of the late Floyd I. and Maude E. (Harr) Shirey. Prior to retirement, he worked as an owner/operator truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Shirey. He is survived by his wife, Fanny J. "Nan" (Eichholtz) Shirey, with whom he would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 25, 2000; six children, Floyd I. "Chip" Shirey III and wife, Diane E., of Forbes Road, Jane Mutnansky and husband, John J. III, of Scottdale, William L. Shirey and wife, Denise J., of Greensburg, Joan N. Hoopes and husband, Leo G., of Latrobe, Warren L. Shirey of Fort Mills, S.C., and Wendy J. Shirey of Greensburg; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends will be received Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held Thursday at a time to be announced. Interment will follow in Shirey Cemetery, Unity Township.
Pastor Regis Wasco, formerly of Greensburg, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Fairmont, W.Va. Son of the late Jacob and Julia Wasco of Greensburg. He is survived by his wife, Lois Wasco; a son, William; three grandchildren; also sisters, Marcella Orange, Madelyn Wasco and Bernadine Giron. Services and burial will be in Fairmont, W.Va., Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000.
George C. Bergman, 91, of Irwin, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 22, 1908, in North Huntingdon, a son of the late Martin and Augusta Anderson Bergman. He was a retired employee of Gongaware Bus Lines, North Huntingdon. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin, Shidle Lodge 601 F&AM, Irwin, and the Antique Automotive Club of America, National and Western Regions. He was a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania Horological Institute and a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock, National and Allegheny Regions. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emil Bergman and Raymond Bergman; and two sisters, Helen Kemerer and Irene Robb. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Kline Bergman; a niece, Doris Bergman Chadima of Irwin; and a nephew, Daryl Kemerer of Prospect, Pa. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Norman E. Nething officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Shidle Lodge 601 F&AM will hold services Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
John D. Betker, 56, of Hunker RR1, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Born April 16, 1943, in Mount Pleasant, he was a son of the late John D. and Alma G. Bowman Betker. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mount Pleasant. He was employed as a coordinator by Westmoreland County Community College of Youngwood. He served in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of American Legion Post 446, an honorary member of the Sheriff's Association, and did charity work for the American Heart Association. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Joyce Hower Betker; his two daughters, Susan Gergas and her husband, Mark, of Mount Pleasant and Bobbi Jo Betker Corvin and her husband, Bart, of Scottdale; two grandchildren, Zachary and Abigail Gergas; a brother, Fred Collins of Mount Pleasant; and seven sisters, Gloria Zelmore and her husband, Emerson, of Mount Pleasant, Doris Bowman and her husband, Frank, of Ruffsdale, Diane Zufall of Laurelville, Darlene McConnell and her husband, Richard, of Mount Pleasant, Shirley Ulery and her husband, Gary, of Fairmont, W.Va., Noretta Escareno, and Colleen McElfresh and her husband, Robert, all of Mount Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert K. Collins and Ronald A. Collins; and a sister, Joyce Elaine Collins. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday at GALONE-CARUSO'S, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant, where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jim B. Liston officiating. Interment in Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Township.
Margaret K. Moyer Curnow, 85, of Irwin, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in the Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. She was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Hempfield Township, a daughter of the late John and Elsie Smith Moyer. She was a retired cafeteria employee of the Norwin School District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Irwin, and the F.O.E. Aerie 1671 Ladies Auxiliary, Irwin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Curnow. She is survived by a son, Kenneth L. Curnow of North Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Kenneth, Christine, Cynthia and Matthew Curnow; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Ashley and Megan Curnow; and a brother, Clarence Moyer of Florida. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert C. Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon.
Ethel Butler Garris, 85, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born March 30, 1914, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late Joseph N. Butler and Nora Agnes Smith Butler. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greensburg. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Garris; her sons, Joseph and Thomas Garris; a son-in-law, Lawrence Schuck; brothers, Joseph and Isaac; and sister, Isabelle. Surviving are her children, Robert R. Garris and wife, Laura Kay, of Greensburg, Agnes L. Nelson and husband, Kenneth, of New Stanton, and Catherine L. Willcox and husband, Timothy, of Greensburg. Also survived by grandchildren, Lawrence Schuck and wife, Teresa, and Timothy and Cynthia Schuck; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Robert C. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Clair Cemetery, Hempfield Township. Robert C. Henry, 86, of Pleasant Hills, formerly of Brentwood, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000. Beloved husband of Myrtle G., loving father of Walter L. of Ben Avon, Katherine Sczymanski of Wisconsin, Robert J. of Hookstown, and William F. of Clinton. Beloved son of the late Walter L. and Laura. Beloved brother of Leo, Mary Clare and the late Eugene. Also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Friends received at the JOHN F. Irene A. Krinock, 76, of Latrobe, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. Born Nov. 24, 1923, in Connellsville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Sophia Karaffa Karaffa. She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Church and its Ladies Guild. The retired owner and operator of the former Irene's Beauty Shop in Latrobe, she had also been employed by Kaufmann's at Westmoreland Mall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy M. Karaffa; and a brother, Desideri Joseph Karaffa. She is survived by her husband, Elias R. Krinock; a son, Robert J. and wife, Pam Krinock, of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Cynthia I. and husband, Douglas Taylor, of Kimberton, Pa.; a brother, Eugene Dale and wife, Ada Karaffa, of Orchard Park, N.Y.; two sisters, Clara and husband, Robert Skurla, of Charlotte, N.C., and Diane and husband, James Dietzen, of Blairsville; and three grandchildren, Sarah N. Krinock, John M. Krinock and Jason D. Taylor. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Parastas at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Panachida service at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Bradenville. Entombment in Twin Valley Cemetery, Delmont.
Raymond C. Leasure, 94, formerly of Irwin, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at UPMC Presbyterian, Oakland, Pittsburgh. Son of the late Henry C. and Mary Elizabeth Webb Leasure. Mr. Leasure was employed as an accountant for Rochez Inc., until his retirement in 1976. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pauline; two sons, Frederick of Mt. Lebanon and Richard of Algonquin, Ill.; his two sisters, Florence and Hilma, both of Irwin; and six grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Baum Chapel at Asbury Heights Retirement Community, 700 Bower Hill Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA 15243. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Asbury Chapel at Asbury Heights. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 310 Oak St., Irwin, PA 15642, or to Asbury Heights of Mt. Lebanon. Arrangements by LAUGHLIN FUNERAL HOME LTD., Mt.
