Elizabeth L. Marchetti, 87, a resident of Hempfield Manor, formerly of Jeannette, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at the Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born July 23, 1912, in Penn, a daughter of the late George and Catherine Schulti Reidmiller. She was a member of the Ascension Church of Jeannette. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Sparky" Marchetti, in 1989; and two sisters, Helen Reidmiller and Mary Fry. She is survived by three sons, George F. Marchetti of Pittsburgh, John E. Marchetti and his wife, Juliane, of Greensburg, and Peter C. Marchetti of Jeannette; two daughters, Kathleen Kurtz of Greensburg and Dolores Slater and her husband, Raymond, of Jeannette; a brother, George A. Reidmiller and his wife, Edna, of Hopewell, Va.; eight grandchildren, Richard and Linda Kurtz, Lori Davis, Sheri Painter, Amy Jo Slater, Scott and Brian Marchetti, and Todd Toth; four great-grandchildren, Ryan and Chad Painter, Benjamin Davis, and Lucas Marchetti; a special niece, Joan Colosimo and her husband, Lewis; and several other nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOHN V. GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 228 N. Second St., Jeannette, beginning Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Ascension Church. Interment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
Betty R. Rhome, 78, of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at her home. Born Jan. 29, 1921, in Mt. Pleasant, she had been a 1939 graduate of Ramsay High School. A graduate of Greensburg Hospital School of Nursing, she had done specialized nursing at Frick Memorial Hospital and Children's Hospital, before moving to Monessen. She and her late husband, H. Denver Rhome, had managed the Rhome Funeral Home Inc. since 1948. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Monessen, O.E.S. #205 of Monessen, a life member of the Auxiliary for the Mon Valley Health Resources for over 25 years, a volunteer with the Friends of the Library of Monessen, and member of AARP. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Eileen L. and David R. Rhome of Monessen and Shirley and Kirk P. Rhome of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher D. and Christine of Monessen, Matthew P. and Shelly of Monessen, Katie E. of Pensacola, and Jeremy P. of Pensacola; and a great-grandchild, Sydney K. of Monessen. Friends will be received at the RHOME FUNERAL HOME INC., 1209 Grand Blvd., Monessen, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. W. Dale Rhome officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Her family requests that contributions be given in memory of Mrs. Rhome to her beloved church, United Methodist Church of Monessen; Friends of the Library; or Mon Valley Human Resources Auxiliary.
Elizabeth I. Seitz, 87, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was born Sept. 14, 1912, in West Newton, a daughter of the late Fred and Mary Cumpson Stauffer. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by G.C. Murphy Company, McKeesport. She was a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church, North Huntingdon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Seitz, in 1972; and a sister, Elvira Bossart. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Betty Lynn) Zoltak of North Huntingdon; a brother, Alex Stauffer of Glenshaw; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Anderson officiating. Private interment
to follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
Salvatore J. Delisi, 76, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Avonmore, a son of the late Joseph and Inez Delisi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Anderson Delisi; two brothers, Anthony and Joseph Delisi; and two sisters, Sister Catherine Delisi and Josephine Delisi. He was a graduate of the Bell Township High School. He was formerly employed by the Walworth Valve Co. of South Greensburg and the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral School of Greensburg. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral of Greensburg and the Loyal Order of Moose of Greensburg. He is survived by a son, David S. and his wife, Deborah A. Delisi, of Greensburg; two grandchildren, Christopher and Emma Delisi of Greensburg; and two brothers, Francis Delisi of Pittsburgh and the Rev. Anthony Delisi of Conyers, Ga. There will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg. Interment will be in Northside Catholic Cemetery, Ross Township, Pittsburgh. The family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Greensburg YMCA, 101 S. Mary Shuglie Gribschaw, 79, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, after an extended illness. She was born May 23, 1920, in Frank, Pa., a daughter of the late Adam and Helen Baczkowski Shuglie. She was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of North Huntingdon and a charter member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a charter member and former officer of North Huntingdon Township Democrat Club and the Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 781. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Jenny Shuglie, Mrs. Cecelia Johnson, Mrs. Helen Miller, and Mrs. Winnie Poliskie; and a brother, Wesley Shuglie. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Ernest Gribschaw; a son, Ernie J. and his wife, Lori Gribschaw, of Plum Borough; two grandchildren, Drew and Erin; two brothers, John and Adam Shuglie, both of Irwin RD1; and four sisters, Mrs. Ann Sanson of Northville, Mich., Mrs. Donald (Blanche) Ingalls of Tawas, Mich., Mrs. James (Dorothy) Tranchine of Export RD1, and Mrs. William (Florence) Tkach of Irwin RD1. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church. Gloria J. Hollenbaugh, 50, of Murrysville, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. She was born Nov. 9, 1949, in Pittsburgh. She was employed by the Tribune-Review as an advertising account executive. Daughter of Loretta Elter and the late Richard Elter. She is survived by her husband, Roger C. Hollenbaugh; her children, Christiana J. Hollenbaugh of Murrysville, Eric Hollenbaugh of Murrysville, Cynthia M. Petrisko of Elizabeth Township, and Staci M. Speierman of Maryland; two sisters, Loretta Trauner and Lois Basham; a brother, Richard Elter; and four grandchildren. Friends will be received Thursday only from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd., Glenshaw. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday in All Saints Church, Etna, at 1 p.m.
Edna L. "Mickey" Levendosky, 71, of Derry, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, in UPMC Shadyside. Born July 13, 1928, in Latrobe, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Helen Gamble McManamy. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and its Rosary Altar Society, the Over 50 Club, and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 444, Derry. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas A. Levendosky, in 1985; three brothers, Carl D., Robert and Percy McManamy; and two sisters, Florence I. McInnes and Ruth Clopp. She is survived by her husband of 52 years (being married on May 3, 1947), John T. "Jack" Levendosky; a daughter, Mrs. James (Rebecca L.) Kercher of Derry; three sons, John T. Levendosky II of Derry, Robert F. and his wife, Joyce Ann Levendosky, of Greensboro, N.C., and David M. and Marcie of Derry; a daughter-in-law, Kim Bolen of Derry; a sister, Mrs. Vaughn (Peg) O'Hara of Bowie, Md.; a brother, Thomas McManamy of Derry; five grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Tina Levendosky, Chad Horwat and Jim Ferrenberg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the McCABE FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Third Ave., Derry. Dominick Sheffo, 79, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000. He was born March 12, 1920, in Ioppolo, Sicily, a son of the late Cologero and Josephine Pistone Scifo. He was employed by American St. Gobain Industries of Jeannette, having retired after 33 years of service. He was also employed for eight years by Southwest Bank. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Church and a World War II veteran, having served as a corporal in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Carmen, Angelo, Pete, Cologero and John Scifo. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Genevieve Schifano Sheffo; his son, Salvatore Sheffo and wife, Brenda, of Level Green; two daughters, Josephine Sheffo of Greensburg and Belinda Sedlak and husband, Joseph, of Youngwood; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will be received at the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, 409 W. Stephanie L. "Cookie" Staschak, 57, of Derry RD1, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Louis and Tina Kubistak Goblinger. She was employed as a psychiatric aide at Torrance State Hospital and was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the Ukrainian Society of Derry. She also contributed a great deal of time helping at functions of the Eastern Derry Township Volunteer Fire Co. Cookie is survived by her husband, Andrew "Andy" Staschak; a daughter, Ms. Sandra Smolleck, and a grandson, Stephen Smolleck, of Latrobe; four brothers, Stephen Goblinger of Warren, Ohio, Karl and David Goblinger, both of Latrobe, and Tony Goblinger of Darlington; also several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the MICHAEL J. QUINLISK FUNERAL HOME INC., 548 N. Chestnut St., Derry. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. Stephen C. West as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Edward J. Salamone, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, at age 69. He lived in Mentor, Ohio, and was formerly of Eastlake, Ohio, for 42 years. Ed fought courageously for nine years before losing his battle with Alzheimer's. Devoted husband of Mary; and dearest father of Pat Mahoney, Kathleen Brinkley-Mahoney, Edward (Mary) Salamone, and Dr. John (Karen) Salamone. Loving grandfather of Michael Shinhearl, Lisa Elig, Stacy (Steve) Starcher, Rob Brinkley, Lori Ann (Joe) Pajcic, Patti Lynn (Jay) Zolcak, Christopher and Heather Tostenson, Lauren and Jonathan Salamone, and the late Edward Paul Brinkley. Great-grandfather of 15. Cherished brother of Sam (Dorothy) Salamone and the late Leonard Plaitano. Brother-in-law of Lillian Plaitano. Uncle of many. Son of the late Sam (Teresa) Salamone. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired in 1992 as a welder from Lincoln Electric, where he was employed for 35 years; golfed in Lincoln Electric League and a former coach for Eastlake Little League. Also an avid gardener, member of Balucci Boys of Jeannette, and Lincoln Electric Retiree Club.
