Catherine C. (Stamford) Ingelido, 56, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999. Beloved wife of Richard E. "Dick" Ingelido; loving mother of Lori, Michael Debruyn and wife, Rosanne, David Debruyn and Laura, and Richie Ingelido Jr.; grandmother of Michael and Jordan Debruyn; sister of Ralph Stamford and wife, Patricia; daughter-in-law of Alberta Tedesco; sister-in-law of Theresa Ingelido, John Ingelido and Frank Tedesco; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Cathy was a dedicated music and art teacher at St. Colman School for the past 10 years. She was a missionary teacher in Thailand during the summer of 1999. Cathy was a great Steeler fan. Donations may be made to the St. Colman School, 547 Hunter St., Turtle Creek, PA 15145. Friends will be received Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN L. QUINLAN FUNERAL HOME, 11th and Airbrake avenues, Turtle Creek. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Colman Church, Turtle Creek, Friday at 10 a.m.
Anna M. (Cooper) Kennedy, 97, of Export, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in AUH Forbes Regional, Monroeville. She was born Sept. 14, 1902, in Belfast, Ireland, a daughter of the late James and Mary (McGee) Cooper. Anna was a member of the Delmont Presbyterian Church; Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter, in Monaca; Ambridge Women's Club; and the Rebekah Lodge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, J. Perry Kennedy. Anna is survived by her daughter, Mary "Mel" Esch and husband, George, of Export; three grandchildren, James K., Robert W., and Douglas E. Esch, and their families; and four great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashley, Karisa, and Joshua Esch. Family and friends will be received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Anna's funeral service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Glenn Burrows officiating. Private interment
will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge.
Helen C. Tucci, 85, formerly of Youngwood, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Youngwood, a daughter of the late Joseph and Onorata D'Agostini Ciampini. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by Westinghouse. She was a member of Holy Cross Church, Youngwood, the Holy Cross Ladies Guild and the A&B Club of Youngwood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco Tucci; a sister, Stella Cassa; and three brothers, Merle, Pete and Albert Ciampini. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Frank (Mary Ann) Gazda of Warren, Ohio, and Mrs. Robert (Laura Jean) Sinnamond of Greensburg; a son, Thomas Tucci and his wife, Karen, of Ruffsdale; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Youngwood, with Father John S. Szczesny as celebrant. Interment in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery.
Marjorie Anne Withrow, 71, of Greensburg, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at her home. She was born Nov. 14, 1927, in Greensburg, the daughter of the late George Jacob and Rowena Slaughter Myers. She was a retired nurse and social worker with the Westmoreland Regional Hospital. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Greensburg College Club, and was the secretary of the local AARP group in Greensburg. She is survived by her husband, James E. Withrow; her children, Barbara Myers of Pittsburgh, Diane Fives of Ligonier, and David Withrow of Pittsburgh; her brother, George Richard Myers, of Pleasant Hills; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held in the funeral home Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert C. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Scottdale Cemetery.
Harold H. "Sam" Zimmerman, 66, of Ligonier, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Ligonier Township, a son of the late James C. "Chal" and Bertha Harshbarger Zimmerman. Prior to his retirement in 1997, he had been employed for 34 years at Teledyne-Vasco in Derry Township. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Ligonier, a charter member of the Ligonier Valley Mounties Booster Club, and the Byers-Tosh #267 American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marcella M. Baloga Zimmerman; a daughter, Paula Zimmerman, of Las Vegas, Nev.; three sons, Mark S. and wife, Denise, Zimmerman of Ligonier RD2, H. Drew and wife, Rhonda, Zimmerman of Houston, Texas, and Eric V. and wife, Sue, Zimmerman of Derry; seven grandchildren; a son-in-law, Jimmy El Haddad, of Ligonier; three sisters, Catherine Kinsey of Ligonier, Twila Seitz of Ocala, Fla., and L. Jean Andre of Knoxville, Tenn.; and a brother, James E. "Sam" Zimmerman, of Ligonier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Zimmerman. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph P. Maddalena as celebrant. Interment Ligonier Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Holy Trinity School. A vigil for the deceased will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Full military honors will be presented at the graveside by the Ligonier Valley Veterans Honor Guard.
Elizabeth V. Crusan Everett, 70, of Rillton, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born July 27, 1929, in Black Lick, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Frye Crusan Dunmire. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Oshie Dunmire; and three brothers, Melvin, Jessie and Kenny Crusan. She is survived by her husband, Howard Everett Sr.; and seven children, Donald "Butch" Crusan of Yukon, Virginia Pfrogner and her husband, James, of Rillton, Donna Everett of Greensburg, Howard Jr. of Rillton, Alice Mellinger and her husband, Howard, of Herminie, Mary Everett and Ellen Everett, both of Greensburg; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Dunmire of Saltsburg and Ruth Ader of Slickville. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday in the funeral home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. John C. Pressler officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
Mary Janice Ward, 76, of Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999, at Redstone Highlands. Born March 30, 1923, in Rockford, Ill., she was a daughter of the late John A. and Mary (Lander) Nelson. She graduated from Oakmont High School in 1941 and from Allegheny College in 1945; married John V. Ward in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Oakmont, in 1945, and settled in Oakmont as a housewife and mother. She was active in the Oakmont Junior Women's Club, the Oakmont Drama Club, the Girl Scouts, and was a Sunday school teacher at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. From 1971 to 1974 she lived in Ulsan, Korea, with her husband, who was on a work assignment for Gulf Oil. She lived in Olympia, Wash., and Arvada, Colo., before moving back to Pennsylvania in 1982. She is survived by her husband, John V. Ward, of Redstone Highlands Apartments, Greensburg; a son, John N. Ward Esq. and his wife, Patricia H. Ward, of Unity Township; a daughter, Martha Patricia Scaltsas and her husband, Theodore Scaltsas, Ph.D., of Edinburgh, Scotland; seven grandchildren, John R. Ward, Matthew P. Ward, Meredith L. Ward, Daniel N. Ward, Katherine B. Ward, Jeffrey P. Ward, and Lydia S. Scaltsas; a sister, Martha Patricia Bonidy and her husband, Joseph K. Bonidy, of Greensburg and Ocala, Fla.; and a cousin, Eddie G. Anderson and his wife, Lucille Anderson, of Lakewood, Colo. Family and friends will be received at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for procession to the Unity Chapel, Unity Township, for services to be held at noon with the Rev. Steven Heintz officiating. Interment will be in Unity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Latrobe Area Hospital Foundation, Westmoreland Hospice, or Redstone Highlands.
William C. Bisping, 84, of New Stanton, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, at Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Aug. 23, 1915, in Charleroi, a son of the late Harry E. and Elizabeth Wagner Bisping. He was a charter member of Assembly of God Church, New Stanton, and an elder and deacon under the Rev. G. Jack Provard. He attended Victory Chapel in Greensburg. He and his wife spent their lives spreading the Gospel through written literature. Also, he was a former general county manager for Westmoreland Farm Bureau and retired from Associated Truck Lines. He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Parks Bisping; his children, Mrs. Jesse (Kathleen) VanDyke and Mrs. Joseph A. (Carolyn E.) Miller, both of Hunker, William H. Bisping and wife, Ly, of Greensburg, and James R. Bisping of Hunker; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harry F. Bisping; a sister, Betty Pahel; and an infant brother, Howard Bisping. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, where service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Byron Eisaman officiating. Interment Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.
Gary A. "Pappy" Bowen, 57, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Jan. 10, 1942, in Knox, Ill., a son of the late Clyde D. and Mildred Bogswell Bowen. He attended Visitation Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant. He was a graduate of the Illinois Police Academy. He was a private in the U.S. Army. Gary was a police sergeant, deputy director, and EMT with the Galva Police in Illinois ; a truck driver for Carlson Trucking; a small engine repairman for True Value Duncan in Jeannette; and a CPR instructor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, Steve Jr. and Beulah Harrold Potoka. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Emmie Potoka Ruff-Bowen; a son, Richard E. Ruff Jr. and wife, Sara, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Tina Ruff at home; a granddaughter, Jamie Mimnaugh; a sister, Bev Gerard and husband, Bob, of Galva, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 9:30 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. Mass to be celebrated at Visitation R.C. Church with the Rev. Anthony W. Ditto as celebrant. Interment will follow in Visitation Cemetery with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 446.
Carl T. "Pop-Pop" Potthoff, 90, of Bath, Pa., formerly of Latrobe, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 1999, in Muhlenburg Hospital, Bethlehem, Pa. He was born Nov. 12, 1908, in Latrobe, a son of the late John and Anna Hankey Potthoff. He was a member of the Holy Family Church, Latrobe, and its Holy Name Society. He was an insurance agent for American General Insurance Co. for 30 years, before retiring in 1975. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Knights of St. George, the Point Phillip Rod & Gun Club, and the Petersville Rod & Gun Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. (Nessler) Potthoff; two sisters, Mercedes Potthoff Higgins and Regina M. Potthoff; and two brothers, Alfred and Vincent Potthoff. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Cavallo of Bath, with whom he resided, and Rosemary Morgan of Oneonta, N.Y.; a brother, John "Jack" Potthoff of Latrobe; a sister, Anna Mary Zink of North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment St. Vincent Cemetery, Unity Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Holy Family Church for masses in Carl's name.
