Russell K. Keller, 92, of Jones Mills, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in his home. Family and friends will be received in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., Route 711, Melcroft, Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of his funeral service in the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Judy and the Rev. Paul C. Freidhof co-officiating. Committal service and interment
will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Acme.

Bernadette E. "Bernie" (Ralph) Rico, 72, on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001. Beloved wife of John J. Rico Sr.; loving mother of Darlene "Candy" Berklich and husband Robert, Deborah H. Craig and husband Alan, and John J. Rico Jr. Also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sister of William T. Ralph III, Katherine Hulick and Darlene Hunter. Friends received Saturday and Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JOHN L. QUINLAN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 11th and Airbrake avenues, Turtle Creek. George Glenn Walko, 67, of Darragh, died Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, in his home. He was born June 20, 1934, in West Newton. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an inspector for Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh, in the Large Rotating Apparatus Division. George was an avid trap shooter and sportsman. His memberships included St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and its Altar Rosary Society, the Perryopolis Senior Citizen Travel Club, the National Rifle Association, the Amateur Trap Shooting Association and numerous gun clubs. He was the loving husband of the late Lilly Yates Walko (who died Dec. 14, 2000). He is survived by his children: Deborah Grefenstette and her husband, John, of Fairfax Station, Va., Dan Walko and his wife, Peggy, of Mt. Joy, Doreen Comini and her husband, Mark, of West Newton and Deneen Will and her husband, Charlie, of Ligonier; eight wonderful grandchildren, Brian, Andrea, Melissa, Diane, Heather, Christine, Roger and Chad. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie Brunory. George had a special relationship with his aunts and uncles. Surviving are Joseph William "Willie" Walko of West Newton and Josephine "Uze" Miller of Maryland. Deceased are Mike Walko, John "Bimp" Walko, Frank Walko, Stanley Walko, Helen Swagger, George Walko Jr., Lawrence "Tounch" Walko and Julia Kuszaj. Friends will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward R.C. Church, Herminie, with the Rev. Lawrence L. Manchas as celebrant. Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery. A St. Edward parish rosary will be recited Monday at 3:30 p.m. and a parish wake service will be held at 8:15 p.m., both in the funeral home.

Marguerite O'Toole Dickson, 83, of Englewood, Fla., formerly of Murrysville, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, in her home. She was born April 3, 1918, in Rankin, a daughter of the late James and Catherine Shephard O'Toole. She was previously employed by the Franklin Regional School District and she was a member of the Sons and Daughters of St. Patrick, Venice, Fla. Her husband of 60 years, Robert W. Dickson, died Jan. 10, 2001. Marguerite was the loving mother of Kay Hess of Englewood, Robert Dickson of Englewood and Lynn Grindle and her husband, Gary, of Indiana, Pa.; grandmother of 10; great-grandmother of 16. She is also survived by three brothers, James O'Toole of Murrysville, Lawrence O'Toole of East McKeesport and Thomas O'Toole of North Braddock; and five sisters, Mary Slane of Holiday Park, Betty DeStefano of Venice, Fla., Nancy Arrigo of Murrysville, Bernice Milko of Englewood and Judith Catanzaro of Pittsburgh. Visitation Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the JOHN T. HART FUNERAL HOME, Murrysville. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville, with Father Ron Cyktor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.

Mary Ann Iorio, 69, of Delmont, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, in Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Florida. She was born Sept. 4, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Sarah (Smith) Wermlinger. Mary Ann was a dedicated Mom and Grandma who enjoyed cooking and charity work. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Wermlinger; and a sister, Gertrude McKee. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Dominic Iorio; six children, Deborah Bucciero and husband, Anthony, of Export, Yvonne Jaehne and husband, William, of Gibsonia, Dominic Iorio and wife, Janice, of Sarasota, Fla., Dr. Craig Iorio and wife, Andrea, of Park Ridge, Ill., Dr. Clark Iorio and wife, Beth, of Medina, Ohio, and Gina Iorio Higgins of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Jack Wermlinger and wife, Margie, of Plum Borough; and a number of nieces and nephews. She also will be missed by her 13 grandchildren. Family and friends will be received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. at Twin Valley, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mary Ann's funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Export, with Father Dismas Young as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Twin Valley Chapel Mausoleum, Delmont. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Komar, 92, of Mt. Pleasant RD6, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001. He was born Oct. 5, 1909, in Mt. Pleasant Township, the son of the late John and Elizabeth Tomechko Komar. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Polansky Komar, on Aug. 16, 2001; and a sister, Mary Smail. He was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United, and the UMWA District 2. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a road worker for PennDOT. He is survived by nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JAY A. HOFFER FUNERAL HOME, Norvelt, Wednesday from 3 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Florian Catholic Church with the Rev. John M. Foriska as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Florian Cemetery, Trauger. A wake service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 3 p.m. Sandra L. Hoffer, funeral director.

Pauline A. Kosor, 69, of West Newton, died Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Donora, a daughter of the late Stephen and Agnes Karabin Bartakovich. She was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, West Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Geraldine. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Donald F. Kosor; two daughters, Dawn M. Orange and Michael Allen of Greensburg and Michelle A. Merella and Kevin Imbrescia of Collinsburg; and four grandchildren, Lindsay, Brooke, Ashley and Nathan. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. John A. Regoli as celebrant. Interment West Newton Cemetery.
Clara Catherine Melko Overly, 82, of Tarrs RD3, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, in the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. She was born Aug. 31, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Walter V. and Lottie Smoczynski Melko. She had attended the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church of Tarrs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Edward Overly, in 1982; a daughter, Martha, in 1934; a grandson, Bryan Firmstone, in 1998; three sisters, Margaret Sibley, in 1958, Katherine Kruger, in 1992, and Marie King, in 1998; and a brother, John Melko, in 1983. Survived by seven sons, Edward Overly and wife, Betty, of Hunker, Joseph Overly and wife, Patricia, of Mt. Pleasant RD4, Merle Overly of Kingview, Pa., Floyd Overly and wife, Claudia, of Mt. Pleasant, James Overly and wife, Mary Lou, of Acme, David Overly and wife, Kathy, of Tarrs, and Randy Overly and wife, Susan, of Acme; three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Clara "Babe") McCabe of Bullskin Township, Mrs. George (Gloria) Firmstone of Mt. Pleasant, and Mrs. Dennis (Nancy) Allison of Tarrs; 25 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard Melko of Maple Heights, Ohio, and Charles Melko of East Peoria, Ill.; three sisters, Frances Putman of Cleveland, Ohio, Dorothy Presley of Peoria, Ill., and Gertrude Sharp of Sandston, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Mildred (Vargo) Sever, 97, of West Newton, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at the Westmoreland Manor, Hempfield Township. She was born Dec. 30, 1901, in Footedale, Pa., a daughter of the late Andrew B. Sr. and Julia Vargo. Mrs. Sever was a homemaker. Her memberships included the St. Edward Roman Catholic Church, Herminie, and also the Herminie S.N.P.J. Lodge #87. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sever was preceded in death by her husband, James Marco Sever; a daughter, Peggy Sever; four sons, John, Walter, James and Frank Sever; two brothers, Paul and Andy Vargo; a sister, Susan Vargo. Mrs. Sever is survived by five sons, Joseph and his wife, Dixie, of West Newton, George and his wife, Nancy, of Wyles, Thomas, Robert and Paul Sever, all of West Newton; three daughters, Helen Nalepa of Pittsburgh, Nancy Roshon of West Newton and Mildred and her husband, Paul McBeth, of Madison; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Vargo of Fayette City and Ann Cups of Oakmont; two brothers, John and Sam Vargo, both of Fayette City; a number of nieces and nephews. Frank B. Mastowski, 73, of Scottdale RD1, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999, in Clearfield County. He was born March 25, 1926, in White, Pa., a son of the late Joseph and Frances Roszak Mastowski. Since 1976, he was the owner and operator of Mastowski's Trailer Court in East Huntingdon Township. He had also formerly worked for the Eidemiller Construction Co. of Greensburg. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II aboard the USS Washington. He was a lifetime member of the East Huntingdon Sportsmen's Club, lifetime member of the VFW Post in Frenchville, Pa., a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen's Club and the National Wild Turkey Federation, Chapter 1. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Mastowski, Helen Dzielski and Josephine Dzielski; and a brother, Walter Mastowski. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude Suske Mastowski; six children, Ronald Mastowski and his wife, Anita, of Blytheville, Ark., Marcie Huha and her husband, Michael, of Yukon, Pa., Charles Mastowski and his wife, Sondra, of Phoenix, Ariz., Donald Mastowski of Phoenix, Ariz., Gertie Porinchak and her husband, Jack, of Scottdale, and Cindy Frye (Werry) and her husband, Chuck (Werry), of Scottdale; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ted Mastowski of Normalville and Clarence Mastowski of White, Pa.; and three sisters, Bernice Mastowski of Leesburg, Fla., Verna Kasiewicz and Louise Mastowski, both of White, Pa. Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt.
