Eleanor Wertz, of Virginia, formerly of the Pittsburgh area, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Irene Friend Horne; a son, Roy R. Wertz; and brother, James Lemmon of Arizona. Private service was held.
Gertrude Anna Winter Wieland, on Friday, Nov. 16, 2001. Beloved wife of Edward C. Sr. Mother of Edward C. Jr., Dorothy "Dee" Carryer and Kathleen Jones. Sister of Robert and Raymond Winter and Theresa Gray. Also survived by five grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Visitation Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Susanna Church.

Loving husband of Donna Daugherty; father of Rachel Daugherty-Voshall (Neal) and Jackie "Pooh" Daugherty-Throop (Robert "B.J."); proud grandfather of Brittany, Dallas, Dylan and Neal Jr.; son of Nira and the late Daniel Daugherty. Al was honored to have served with the U.S. Marine Corps for over three years at Cherry Point, N.C. He also worked at Neville Chemical Company for over 20 years. Davare and the late Audrey R. (Percy) Davare. Valarie was employed as a business analyst with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Pittsburgh, Pa. for 29 1/2 years. Charles E. "Sonny" Harris, 88, on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2001. Beloved friend and companion of Gloria Carroll of Penn Hills: devoted father of Doris Tyree of East Liberty, Serena Keith of East Liberty, Charles E. Keith of Penn Hills, Richard D. Keith of Penn Hills and Vincent Keith of Hinesville, Ga.; cherished grandmother of Gloria Keith, Rashee Keith and Dior Keith; also survived by a great-granddaughter, Brea Saunders; a great-grandson; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Mr. Harris was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an excellent musician, composer, band leader and entertainer. Martha Kaiser, 82, on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2001, at Valley Care Masonic Home in Sewickley. SHe was born in Pittsburgh on Feb. 9, 1919, daughter of the late Adolph and Margaret (Beitler) Kaiser. In additon to her parents, Miss Kaiser was preceded in death by a brother David. Mis Kaiser is the sister-in-law of Linda Kaiser and aunt of Lauri and Erich Kaiser. Prior to her retirement, Martha was employed in the investment industry in sales. She was a member of the National Secretaries Association. Harold H. Kirsch, 79, on Friday, Nov. 16, 2001, in Allegheny General Hospital. He was born April 1, 1922, in Pittsburgh, son of Harold John and Frances Anna Mangold Kirsch. Mr. Kirsch was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served with Company I, 378th Infantry. He was a truck driver for Smith Transfer Co. from 1945 until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of Teamsters Local 249 since 1945. Member of West View United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife, Violet L. Mulvey Kirsch; two daughters, Frances A. Harbison of Cranberry and Gayle D. Kirsch of Bluffton S.C.; three sons, Gary E. Kirsch of Sharpsburg, Jeffry A. Kirsch of Ross and Tracy D. Kirsch of O'Hara; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Visitation from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in H.P.
