HAROLD E. THOMAS Harold E. "Tony" Thomas, 72, of Conemaugh Township, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born April 16, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Bruno and Gwen Smith Thomas. He lived in the Clarksburg and Saltsburg areas all his life. He was the owner and operator of Thomas's Sunoco Service Station, Clarksburg, Pa., and retired in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Saltsburg, and the Woodmen of the World. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Carl Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann G. Matusin Thomas; a son, Larry E. Thomas of Avonmore; two sisters, Lee Askins of Slickville and Lucille Waugaman of Conemaugh Township; and three grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, where services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. with Father James Gaston officiating. Interment St. Matthew Roman Catholic Cemetery, Saltsburg.

He retired from J&L/LTV Steel and was a veteran of the 780th EPD Division of the U.S. Army Engineers during World War II. He was active in the Oakland Little League Baseball Program for 30 years, was a member of the Men's Choir at St. Paul's Cathedral and a longtime member of the Richard Caliguiri Lodge of Italian Sons and Daughters of America.

Stephen L. Genes, 79, of West Mifflin, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 21, 1922, in Duquesne, a son of the late Daniel and Anna (Jupin) Genes. He is survived by his wife, Ann (Fraikor) Genes; a son, Paul Genes of North Huntingdon; a daughter, Donna Balint of Cary, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a brother, Daniel Genes of West Mifflin. He was a retired employee of Bettis Atomic Plant, West Mifflin. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Duquesne and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM S. SKOVRANKO MEMORIAL HOME, Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne, Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Blessing services at the memorial home Monday at 9:15 a.m., followed by Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Monsignor William Levkulic as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery, West Mifflin. Panachida service in the memorial home Sunday at 7:30 p.m.

Beloved wife for 24 years to George C. Hoover; loving mother of Charles J. Hoover of Richland; dear daughter of Salvatore and Dorothy Mondelli of Oaklyn, N.J. Sister of John Mondelli of Nashville, Tenn. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the SCHELLHAAS FUNERAL HOME LTD., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
