Greensburg
Deanne Lynn Caldwell, 47, of Greensburg, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1954, in Greensburg, the daughter of Alice E. Fellers Caldwell of Greensburg and the late P. Dean Caldwell. She was a member of the St. Matthias Evangelical Lutheran Church. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alan Caldwell, in 1991. In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Wayne Caldwell and his wife, Brenda, of Jeannette; nieces, Jennifer, Amy and Amanda Caldwell, all of Jeannette; special friend, Merle Bailey of Greensburg; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and the loving people of Community Living Care of Greensburg. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Robert Hawk officiating. Interment will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery, Irwin.
Southwest Greensburg
Louis L. Cremonese, 82, of Southwest Greensburg, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, in his home. He was born Dec. 10, 1918, in Greensburg, a son of the late Vincenzo and Anna Gloria Cremonese. He had been the former owner of Lou's Inn, Workman's Bar and Luigi's Sausage House, all of Greensburg. He was a member of the Church of St. Paul, the Pennsylvania National Guard, a member and had served as first president of the Roosevelt Club of Hempfield Township, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1480, Hilltop Club, Young Voters Club, the A.M.S. Club, American Legion Post 981 of South Greensburg, Carbon Firemen's Club, the Fort Allen Firemen's Club, and a member of the S.N.P.J. Lodge for over 60 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sandra Louise; two brothers, Guy and Salvadore; and four sisters, Anna C. Macko, Thelma Sofranko, Clara Belle DeBone and Antoinette Cremonese. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine M. "Kay" Marovich Cremonese; a son, James L. Cremonese of Greensburg; a daughter, Catherine "Kitty" Good of Greensburg; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Cremonese of South Greensburg; four grandchildren, Dana M. Almeida and her husband, Hector, of Mexico, Erin L. Good Scheffer and her husband, Grant, of New Orleans, La., Louis L. Cremonese of Scottdale and Nicole M. Cremonese of Plum Borough; three great-grandchildren, Alexis Catherine, Hector Luigi and Kayleigh Jean; four brothers, Joseph Cremonese of Greensburg, Brother Placid Cremonese, O.S.B., of St. Vincent, Latrobe, Nicholas Cremonese and his wife, Mary, of Owings, Md., and Jerry Cremonese and his wife, Olive, of Albuquerque, N.M.; two sisters, Mary Petroy of Greensburg and Josephine Kozak and her husband, Andrew, of Southwest Greensburg; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers in the funeral home Monday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the Church of St. Paul, Greensburg, with the Rev. Daniel C. Mahoney as celebrant. Entombment will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum. Knights of Columbus Council 1480 will meet at the funeral home Sunday at 7 p.m. to conduct a service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Westmoreland Hospice, 532 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, or the Church of St. Paul, 820 Carbon Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
Formerly of Sutersville
Sabina Deutsch, 87, formerly of Sutersville, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Baldock Health Care Centre, North Huntingdon. Born Aug. 31, 1914, in Claridge, she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary Subic Torkar. She was a member of the Primitive Methodist Church in Gratztown. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the J.C. Penney Co. She was also a member of the Sutersville and West Newton senior citizens associations. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond H. Deutsch; a son, Charles R. Deutsch; a sister, Mary Maleski; and two brothers, Matthew and Frank Torkar. She is survived by a son, John H. Deutsch of Gratztown; a daughter, Karen Dilling of White Oak; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME INC., West Newton, where service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Henry Frain officiating. Interment in West Newton Cemetery.
Connellsville
Geraldine A. "Gog" Fullem, 92, of Connellsville, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2001. She was born July 15, 1909, in Normalville, a daughter of the late Homer and Pearl Bigam Nichelson. She was Protestant by faith. Geraldine remained ever so close to her family. She was a homemaker who enjoyed housework and was a proficient seamstress who would design clothing for her family and friends. Geraldine is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Lee (Pearl Evans) Cratty of Butler, Gail DeWitt and her husband, Raymond "Bud" DeWitt, of Connellsville and Kandi J. DeWitt of Greensburg; a son, Robert E. Fullem of Connellsville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Hiram L. Fullem Sr., in 1986; a son, Hiram L. Fullem Jr.; a daughter, Jewel Romaine Fullem; and a grandson, David Allen DeWitt. Friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 S. First St., West Side, Connellsville, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Raymond Ice officiating. Interment will follow in Normalville Cemetery.

Frances Mae Karfelt, 90, of South Connellsville, went to her eternal rest suddenly Thursday, Nov. 22, 2001, at the Eicher's Family Home, Normalville. She was born May 31, 1911, in Bullskin Township, Mae was a daughter of the late Jesse A. and Hattie (Laura) Wiltrout. She was a member of the Albright United Methodist Church, South Connellsville. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 72 years, Aaron B. Karfelt; her four sons, Ronald "Buck" Karfelt and wife, Patricia Sue, of South Connellsville, Leonard Dean Karfelt and wife, Elaine, of Greensburg, Edward Gerald Karfelt and wife, Ethel Mae, of Somerset, and Donivon Joseph Karfelt of West Leisenring; a son-in-law, Jack H. Grimm of South Connellsville; a daughter-in-law, Dora Stull Karfelt of South Connellsville; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Wiltrout and wife, Mary, of Scottdale, and Lewis Wiltrout and wife, Betty Jean, of Latrobe; and three sisters, Ella Jean Hixson of Connellsville RD2, Gertrude Sanner and husband, Homer, of Connellsville, and Betty H. Kreinbrook of Connellsville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in deaty by a son, Alfred Karfelt; a daughter, Gwenneth Joanne Grimm; four brothers, Howard, Earl, Kenneth and Jim Wiltrout; and two infant brothers. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., 730 W. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Her funeral service will be held in the Albright United Methodist Church Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Byron Tate Fulton officiating. Ligonier
Rosemary Kirr, 58, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, at her home in Ligonier, following a long battle with breast cancer. She was born Nov. 17, 1943, in Canonsburg, Pa., the only child of William and Mary Jane Dybell Kirr of Canonsburg. After graduating from Duquesne University where she obtained her bachelor and a master's degree, she taught for many years before pursuing a legal career. After receiving her Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University in 1977, she worked and obtained her CPA degree working at Arthur Young in Pittsburgh, Pa. In 1980, she became employed as a tax attorney for Kennametal Inc. in Latrobe, where she worked until forced retirement due to the advancement of the disease in 1994. She was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in 1981. She was very active in the American Cancer Society at both the state and local levels for many years, serving in many capacities. She was a member of the American Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Public Accountants. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her soulmate and very best friend, Richard P. Gibson. There will be a one day visitation at the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, during the hours of 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Ligonier, Pa., where she was a member, with the Rev. Joseph P. Maddalena as celebrant. The family requests that friends go directly to the church Monday morning. Interment will follow the Mass at Unity Cemetery, located outside of Latrobe. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard P. Gibson and Rosemary Kirr Endowed Scholarship Fund at Duquesne University, the American Cancer Society, or Latrobe Area Hospital Home Health for their years of kindness and care. A vigil for the deceased will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Michael Lishego, 80, of Greensburg, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Oct. 7, 1921, in New Alexandria, a son of the late Stephen and Katherine Kuharich Lishego. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael A. Lishego; a grandson, Michael Shawn Lishego; a brother, John Lishego; and three sisters, Rose Smolinski, Alice Charley and Mary Robosky. He is survived by his wife, Emma Wisniewski Lishego; a daughter, Donna Hoyle of Pittsburgh; a son, James K. Lishego and wife, Cynthia, of Greensburg; a daughter-in-law, Rose Marie Lishego of Latrobe; six grandchildren; a brother, George Lishego and wife, Tillie, of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Sophie McLean and husband, Edgar, of Greensburg. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Youngwood, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from Robertshaw Controls, New Stanton. He was a member of the Ukrainian Association and the Robertshaw Retirees, and a former manager of the Stanton Airs Orchestra. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father John S. Szczesny as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the Armbrust Veterans Association. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Lung Association, 2851 Bedford Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15219.

Marie A. Samson Lucas, 88, of United, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. She was born Dec. 1, 1912, in Mammoth, the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Szatkiewicz. She was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church in United. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Paul Lucas, in 1951; a son, Paul E. Lucas; and the following brothers: Anthony, Joseph, Frank, Andrew and George Suscovich. She is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Lucas of Norvelt and John J. Lucas of Streetsboro, Ohio; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Laurel Mountains Chapter, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.
